I am reviewing the yellow under eye corrector shade.
The opacity of this concealer is weakened by the watery consistency which means you don’t get a lot of pigment and coverage, even if you try to “layer” it. The shade of yellow in itself is a darker yellow and so it doesn’t even really help at either brightening or neutralizing the dark bluish undertones of dark circles. Concealers are meant to have a high ratio of colour pigment but this could easily be a watery foundation pumped into a concealer pen. For the price and the fancy French brand, this is a let-down.

This is a full on concealer, not a highlighter. Good to use if you have huge spots, dark circles and a lot of redness. This covers it all! But for me, this is too heavy.. I do not need much coverage anymore. I use it and it is OK, but I have used better concealers and highlighters. It can make your face a bit “flat”.

Revisiting review in November 2014:
I still agree with myself! XD Nice! I wondered about bumping the rating up to 5, but ‘I can’t. On one hand, this has VERY high coverage, and when I get a pimple or post-pimple-hyperpigmentation, this is THE ONLY thing that can cover that up completely, and it stays all day long. Yes, I’ve had other, equally covering concealers, but they broke me out – this is (at this point)the only super-high coverage one that doesn’t. On the other hand: the amount of product for the money… You get 1,8 mL / 0.06 oz. Where I live, I can get 15 mL / 0.5 oz of concealer from Clarins for $3 more. If you’re wondering, I still have some of this left. It has a 6 month expiration date, but it’s still totally fine… It was expensive – I can’t just toss it :/ I also got some pimples that nothing else could cover, so this was the solution. So, I would recommend this only for spot-concealing, and for that purpose it will last you a long time.
I bought this while being on my occasional splurge-round in the drugstore, together with an awesome mascara from the same line and some sensitive skin products that I will also review. I bought this because I wanted something more concealing for under the eyes, and this seemed pretty thick and covering (yeeea… for under the eyes.).
.
Well, obviously, this didn’t work very well for under the eyes – it was quite drying and was all in my small wrinkles very fast, amplifying them, so I gave that up after trying for two days. However, I found that it works pretty well for covering up some of my scars after blemishes, and that it also works for under my nose. I don’t have that many scars, but maybe still about 10. They’re not very dark, but definitely dark enough for my foundation to not manage to mask them, and me not wanting to let them show. They’re luckily flat.
.
The first thing I don’t like with this concealer is the type of brush – it looks cheap, and feels very scratchy and unprecise after me getting used to my Sensai pen-brush concealer brush. Therefore I use a separate concealer brush with this, which I’m OK with at home, but it’s unpractical for me to carry such things around.
.
The good thing is: this don’t dry my skin out when I place it over spots + seems to not disappear during the day.
.
Bad thing: the colours of the La Roche-Posay concealers in this line is pretty weird: a light skin coloured one (the one I’m using), a light yellow one, a green one and a pinky one (described as “dark beige”…) :S So basically: not for many skin tones. Although the colour I have is pretty light, it actually oxidises a little bit, which is something I’m not used to with concealer.
.
There are better things out there, but this has it advantages if you have made it work for you. After me managing MAC’s Pro Longwear concealer work for me (not using it any more though – drying and actually too covering), I think I can make anything work. Still, I most likely won’t repurchase, because there are better things out there.
