Out of all the similar illuminating pens I have tried, this one is by far the best. I think it is much better than Touche Eclat and here is why: it has more coverage and visually “lifts” darker areas like no other.
I personally use this under my eyes; once I am done with corrector/concealer, I still have a few dark/deep areas like right underneath inner corner of my eye or outer corner – a small amount of this product and suddenly I look awake and for a lack of a better word “fresh”. Almost as if I had no under eye darkness to begin with.
You can use it through the center of the face to highlight it; this formula does not have shimmer, it is not a glowy product – however – it manages to reflect the light in such an effortless way, I absolutely love it.
For those of you interested in this and other Guerlain bestsellers, I have a separate in-depth review with swatches here ( Hope it helps!

I had such high hopes regarding this concealer. I don’t have dark circles or bags, but fine lines and dry skin. I bought the lightest shade. First of this pen does NOT last, I did use this generously, but it lasted for only 20 days! Had this however been a fantastic concealer -for me – no prob, I would re purchase no matter the cost or how long it lasts, but it was pretty awful. It goes on very, very light colour wise, and also light texture wise, very lightweight and smoothing, however after only a short while, it seems to disappear and make my lines look 10x worse. Wasteful product. Retails for 32 euros / 34.5US$.
Will go back to Lancome TEINT MIRACLE INSTANT RETOUCH PEN, which I have purchased so many times but wanted a change. Big mistake.

I have dark circles under my eyes. This enlightens the under eye area, not highlighting fine lines and not causing any skin or eye reactions. Just choose the right shade and you’ll love it. I keep repurchasing it for the last few years and hope it is never discontinued.

I own so many concealers…brighteners…Charlotte Tilbury, YSL, Jouer, MAC, Estee Lauder, Smashbox, Dior…hmmm…am I an addict? Yep. Is this one of the BEST concealers ever? YEP! I got shade 01. It’s so stunning. It’s creamy, thick and luxury. I can’t imagine not using this. I am fair skinned and it creates the most beautiful soft, open eyed look when placed just in the corners and along the lash line (a bit below actually…) Yes, it’s crazy expensive but isn’t looking smashingly perfect worth it?

I personally feel all these positive reviews, which led me to purchase this less-than-mediocre highlighter/concealer, are merely phases of denial from spending a laughable load of money on a fancy looking albeit complete and utter rubbish product.
I don’t blame them though, neither would I have the guts to admit to people that I have splurged £31 on a makeup product that left my eyes looking sahara dry, cracked and 30 years older.
I cannot even return it as most of the UK stores don’t give you the liberty to return a cosmetic item once it has been used. I don’t know what to do with it now, it’s too dark and pink to use on other parts of my face. I have never been so cross.
Back I go to searching for that one undereye concealer that actually does its bloody job rather than look pretty in its gaudy little velvet pouch.

This has everything I want in an illuminating pen.YSL’s touche ecalt pen disappointed me with its weak concealing and illuminating properties. Loreal’s LUMI pen was too silvery-shimmery, too illuminating. Estee Lauder had the perfect coverage but wrong shades for my yellow-tan skin. Three strikes. So that was enough of the shiny pen game until, this.
The darkest shade 02 is a great match for my NC40-42 skin. I dont expect this to give heavy coverage and cover the darkest circles, but I need something to work with and not just disappear(YSL), this covers enough to not make darkness on my face so obvious and gave a brightness to my under eyes. I also tried it around my lips and forehead and im very impressed. Its not shimmery but truly illuminating, a faint glow. This pen is beautiful with its gold case and writing. Of course it just had to be Guerlain to impress me with this, but unfortunatly this is the most expensive pen Im going to shell out for, but “its worth it”. This is also great for touch ups, hangovers, long flights, and sleepy days.

I’m on to my second one as this has been a hit for me. 01 is the perfect colour match for my NC15 skin, blends beautifully with no caking or creasing. I use this as an under eye concealer or as an under eye high lighter over foundation and other concealer. I like to blend this in with a flat paintbrush type foundation brush (which I never use for foundation) but these make great brushes for blending concealers.
This pen is not a button clicker but winds the product up through the brush. The little applicator brush is good but ends up a bit skewed over time. I have had YSL and BY Terry in similar formulas but prefer this over those two. The formula is lighter in texture and I like the finish more. However I found my By Terry pen lasted longer than this one so you might get more product in that one.
I probably will go back for a third it really is that good.

This can be compared to the YSL Touche Eclat, but it is so much better. I’ve used plenty of different under eye brightener/concealers, but this is my HG. I’m really particular when it comes to under eye makeup of any kind-if it settles into the finest of lines, I won’t use it. I’d rather let the darkness show. The Guerlain Precious Light is thinner in consistency compared to the YSL, yet it covers/brightens more. I use it around my nose and in my nasolabial folds as well. I am a stickler for all natural and organic products, and this is the one that I cannot get rid of. It just brightens and makes you look healthy and well rested. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive.

I’ve tried all the drugstore, cheapo luminizer pens. We all know they don’t conceal–just add light to dark/recessed areas. And the drugstore pens work just fine–a couple are even pretty darn good. This though, takes it to whole other level!
It applies very very easily. It blends like a dream. This color is absolutely perfect for fair/pale skin. I like that it lightens my dark, tired circles but isn’t opaque like concealer. During the workday, I like a little pick me up, but concealers tend to be too heavy, cakey and take forever to blend down. This applies just the right amount, blends seamlessly and adds light to my tired-looking eyes.
Best of all, I find it doesn’t disturb my eyemakeup. I’ve gotten it too close to my liner and just tapped and patted it down…liner fine, no probs. Normally, my other pens will smear the liner or blankout part of the line so I have to redraw….not so with this.
The packaging is hugely upscale, gorgeous, glamorous and elegant.
This tube came as part of a 3-piece kit at Sephora. I definitely will be buying the full-size pen when this runs out!
As much as I like the drugstore versions, this is sooo much better. It really really is. If you’re 20 and don’t need any brightening, boosting help, save your money and just get the drugstore stuff…But if you’re at my age where you feel and look tired, this is money well spent…a very inexpensive alternative to a face-lift.lol
Overall, everything about this product sets it above and beyond anything you can get from the drugstore. I guess it’s true that you get what you pay for…But unless you really, truly need this, save your money and just get the drugstore version.

Like it better than Dior skinflash or YSL. it’s kinda yellower and perks up the under eye area nicely. A great illuminator. For mine as part of the Precious Lights set which has mini meteorites primer and balls, as I was doing some traveling this summer. I don’t have much to conceal but this sure does the job nicely! For some reason I love it w Laura mercier TM in either illuminating or regular but looks good w anything really.
