Although I kind of wish I would fall in love with it, I don’t think I will repurchase this concealer. Honestly, for 22 USD I can find a lot of better alternatives both on Sephora.com or Ulta etc.
This is a very creamy concealer formula, which is buildable. I find that the coverage is more on a light side, rather than medium, although you can add more and more to get an opacity you desire. This is supposedly a sweat-resistant formula, I can’t really say so, but what I do know – it looks very natural on the skin. My biggest problem with it though is – the amount you get. It is not that much at all. And with all the layering, you will run out of it pretty quickly. You can read more about wear and application here ( but generally speaking, I think you can find better alternatives on the market.

I recently rediscovered this in my drawer during a quest for the perfect under eye concealer, and I’m happy to say that -so far- this is my favourite!
I bought this about a year ago when I was looking for a new light foundation, as the MAC mua that assisted me showed that this can be used as a foundation as well as a concealer. The lightest shade (1) happens to match my skin tone perfectly. As a matter of fact, it matches so perfectly that sometimes I forget to blend a blob of this because it’s so hard to detect on my skin.
It is a very creamy stick concealer, best suited for dry skin, and it provides about medium coverage I’d say. It worked as a foundation replacement for me, except for on my nose, where it doesn’t seem to want to stay put. However, shortly after buying this I fell in love with MAC F&B foundation, and I haven’t used the matchmaster concealer for that purpose since.
I did try it as a concealer for blemishes, but don’t particularly like it for that purpose. It’s not the most high coverage product out there, and the creaminess means that it tends to melt off spots a bit, so I prefer a dryer and more high coverage product for that (Laura Mercier secret camouflage).
However, I love this as an under eye concealer. For a while I’ve been looking for one that does not accentuate the very dry skin under my eyes, covers my slight dark circles (they’re not that dark really), and over all brightens my under eye area without settling in my fine lines. I’ve tested a few brands, including MAC pro longer concealer (too dry, not the right colour), Clarins instant concealer (a bit dry, too high coverage for me, gives me an ashy look), several highlighter pens (Chanel, YSL, MAC, most were too drying and too sheer), a Clinique one (too dry!) and the Sisley Photo Cernes eclat (pretty good, but settles in my lines a tiny bit, and looked a tad too ashy).
The matchmaster concealer beats them all. It covers my darker areas in 1 layer, it brightens my under eye area without making me look like a reversed panda, and if I don’t put too much moisturiser (I use face oil) directly below my eyes, it does not crease. It actually looks like I have nothing on, which is exactly what I want!
I do set it with a translucent powder, and that really helps it stay on all day.

This is the perfect concealer for brightening the under eye area! It has a really nice creamy consistency and isn’t drying like a lot of the concealers I have tried. I find that concealers with more of a matte finish really age the eye area. This concealer gives a nice glowing dewy finish and lasts all day.

Awesome concealer for under my eyes! I have tried what feels like every concealer on the market. Most recently I was using the MAC Studio Finish in NW20. But- by the late afternoon, my undereye area looked parched and dry even with a nice eye cream. I decided to try Matchmaster because it comes in a stick form and is a true cream, not cream to powder. Wow! I pat it on my undereye area with a triangle shaped sponge and it covers my darkness at the inner corners and my reddish/bluish veins beautifully. Looks the most like skin of any concealer I have tried! It does develop some creases along the lines I have in the area but I simply pat those creases out with my ring finger. Best of all, no dryness! Yay! For reference, I am MAC F&B N1 and MACMSFN Medium and use shade 1.5 in Matchmaster.
11/14/15 Edit: I find the coverage of this concealer not ideal for any area other than under my eyes. The few times I have used it on my nose and chin, it seems to sit on top of my skin looking a little obvious. For reference, I like my concealer to match my skin even for under eyes instead of being too light so it’s not a shade issue, it’s the consistency of the product.

I honestly cannot understand why there are so many positive reviews about this? I told the MAC artist that I wanted a concealer to cover blemishes for my upcoming prom. I don’t have awful acne but I’d say I have about 4 red spots at one time on average. She recommended the matchmaster concealer and matched my colour on my cheek. After buying, I got home and tried it out and yes, ok, it blended into my natural colour really well but it concealed nothing 0 ‘zero’ nothing zilch??!! I have always been blown away with what MAC makeup can do because I have other products but this is just horrendous. I don’t doubt that when I take this back I’ll get advised to buy an alternative that will blow me away like MAC products usually/should do. Not good. Not happy. At least I can take it back for another type though.

This concealer did not live up to my expectations, I have been using Mac concealers for around 2 years now and my favourites are studio finish and prolongwear both of which provide beautiful finishes, i heard about matchmaster through YouTube bloggers and thought I’d try it out and completely regretted it after my first day of trying it out, it comes in a cylinder sort of package and you have to roll it out sort of like a lipstick, this is damaging to the concealer as it can break it off and the product seems to run out super fast too. When applying you will need to use quite a lot of product as it doesn’t tend to show much or spread out unless you use quite a bit, I expected this product to be quite dewy as it is sort of like a foundation stick in the sense that it has a velvety and creamy texture however it seemed to become quite oily as the day progressed, also it oxidised fast so the colour became quite dark, this product may have the potential to look good with the right amount of powder setting but overall for the price I don’t think its worth it, you could get a way better finish with a drugstore product like maybelline age eraser.
