I bought a stack of Rimmel products to try as they were half price at Woolworths and I am on the hunt lately for more budget friendly products.
I have rosacea so the green colour got my attention. I have used green correctors before and am very impressed by the Koh Ken Do one but it is in a higher price bracket. As this one was less than $10 I felt I had little to lose.
The little pots of colour are very highly pigmented. I wouldn’t advise wearing this over makeup-you would end up looking very strange indeed. But under makeup I found the green corrector to be excellent. The texture was a creamy powder which went on evenly and stayed put when I applied my foundation. Really did make a difference in taking down the redness. I found if I used a slightly heavier hand than usual (I prefer to stipple this on with a fingertip) and use the apricot in the inner corners of my undereyes and the mauve to highlight my browbones, the middle of my eyelids and just on the top of my outer cheekbone and on the edge of my upper lip then applied Dior Serum Foundation I acheived a very doll-like look which would really appeal to a lot of people. When you are staring 60 in the face I think a slightly more natural look is called for so I will just stick to the green on my red bits unless I am going out somewhere glamorous in the evening. I am actually very pleasantly surprised by this product-it does a good job, doesn’t pill or flake or settle into pores or lines or irritate and costs next to nothing. I only took a couple of lippies off because the packaging screams cheap and nasty sadly. Overall- Recommended.

A small palette containing 3 concealer pans – apricot, lilac, and mint green. There’s a small mirror on the underside of the lid too. I rarely use the lilac and mint shades, but the apricot one is the perfect shade for correcting my dark circles. I’m very pale and have terrible dark circles, they are almost purple. Even if I get 12 hours’ sleep, the next morning I’ll still look like I haven’t slept in a century. I have tried reflective concealers, which are helpful but not effective enough on their own. Yellow concealers are OK but don’t fully colour correct my undereyes, they look less prominent but are still visible. And super thick concealers just settle into lines.
The peach/apricot colour corrector is the only one that fully conceals my dark circles, using this first then a reflective concealer on top of it.
Consistency wise, it’s a creamy concealer that spreads easily on the skin, tapping with fingers or a small make-up sponge helps blend this out on the undereye. It does need setting, so I use fine-milled loose powder after using the reflective concealer – otherwise its staying power isn’t great. Fine once set though.
I’m super pleased with this since it’s so cheap compared to some other peach correctors – NYX, Becca, Bobbi Brown etc. Finally, something to actually correct my dark circles that’s cheap and easily accessible. I buy this only for the peach shade but it’s so worth it for me, nothing else will hide purple toned dark circles.
