This is a really bad one. First of all, I twisted it for ages before something came out, I guess I watched half a movie trying to squeeze something. I assume that it was half empty to begin with. Secondly, it is very thick and chalky. You can’t blend it or do anything with it. This is the first product that is actually too light for me, so light that it looks odd. You can only use it at night. Last but not least, it dried up quickly but I haven’t seen any results anyway so it didn’t even matter. Waste of time.

This is awesome. The main reason I think it’s awesome is because I always felt soooo weird putting makeup on pimples, like it would make them worse. I have gone plenty of time without makeup and they still get worse on their own sometimes (usually from me touching them) but still, mentally I *always* hated wearing makeup on them, like it makes me cringe. So this, it’s made for acne. It has only a few ingredients and most are for acne fighting and it conceals as well. I’ve tried other treatments that either leave a white cast or an odd color or even smell. But this really hides them while treating them so you feel better about wearing it. That confidence alone is worth so much. Between all the new things I’m doing to help my skin I can’t say which ONE thing is doing the most but I would definitely say this is part of it.
The other reason it’s so awesome is that you get all that for $2!!
As for color – I know a lot of the complaints on here have been for the green. I think it’s discontinued (at least I can’t find it on El.f.’s page, so I think they got the hint there). I got the “Light” color which is the darker one, and at first it was too dark. But I have to say, it is fine under my regular makeup and even alone it almost oxidizes to a *better* color, where it’s not noticeable on me at all. That’s awesome, because sometimes I don’t feel like wearing full on makeup, but covering acne so I have more confidence is sooo great!!! I was considering getting the “fair” color next and I still might just in case but I think the light is working after all. Just for reference, I wouldn’t even say I’m medium toned, but I do live in the desert and I’m not the absolute palest. So the light kind of works only after it sets.
As for texture, YES it is super thick, but it really covers. Surprisingly it’s not suffocating though at all. I’ve even worked out with it on (which I NEVER do with makeup) and didn’t feel cakey or like I was causing a break out. You can use more to cover more but you’ll notice the color difference more as well. You really need just a tiny bit for each spot.
But that does bring me to packaging. The packaging does kind of suck. First of all, it is about half empty by the time you get some to come up. E.l.f. does that sometimes with skin care items, where the product is small but ‘cheap’. I find it sometimes surprising when I get them and use them, how little is really inside, but it’s 1.5 grams for $2. It’s still a good deal for the product and quality. As in, other products would charge many times more per gram for similar products, and they might not even be as good as this.
For that reason, I highly recommend shopping during sales and stocking up once you know which products/colors you like, this way you don’t have to pay shipping as often (or at all if you buy enough) since it will run out quickly depending on how severe the acne is/how often it’s needed.
I also agree that the applicator sucks, it looks like a soft sponge but it’s really just a hard piece covered with that felt like material. Another gripe is that because it’s so thick, when you twist it up, it sometimes takes a second but then too much comes out. Since I usually don’t need it all, it starts to dry out on there and then the next time I use it, it’s thicker from drying. You could take it off but I don’t want to waste -_- So go slooooww on the twisting. (It’ll still happen though, unfortunately. I guess because of the pressure.) So what I do is kind of scrape it with my nail first so it can come up unhindered and then just twist like twice.
Overall, I really think this is such a handy staple for those with acne. It’s sooo affordable that if you’re unsure of color you can mix the two or just cover it with your own makeup.
I feel good wearing this, I think it’s effective and comfortable and such a confidence booster. I will absolutely repurchase this!!
Update: I found out I can’t really use actives like salicylic acid and glycolic acid. This has only 1% so it maaayy be ok…but I’m unsure. For what it’s worth I still like it. I did get the fair and it’s less muddy under makeup (color wise) but it is more noticeable on me. Still, it’s a heavier coverage and supposedly fights the break out so I’ll keep using it til they are gone. I find the thickness/edges sometimes shows/looks funny after wearing makeup for a few hours. But I did start using another prescription that is helping my break outs more so I probably won’t repurchase. I really like their Max coverage concealer as a smoother concealer but it’s more like medium coverage. So if you need heavy coverage for a bad breakout this is better.

It was a little to pigmented and the application was not all that great, it did go on really thick. i don’t wear foundation so i tried putting concealer on top and it just looks discolored. I did wear it for a while without any makeup over it and it did make the redness go down. I got this at Walmart for 1$ and overall its a pretty good product. The product did leave a bit of a green finishing tint but i used makeup wipes first and then a deep cleansing face wash and it came off really easily. i would recommend this. But just be aware of how much you put on.

I really like this concealer, it has good coverage and you only need a little bit. I have the shade light which is really not light at all but should work for me in the summer.

Between this and the ELF Zit Zapper, zits don’t stand a chance! Love these products! It actually covers the redness and dries it out within a day or so.

I’ve been using this product for a few days now, and so far I really enjoy it. It feels a bit sticky when first applied, but eventually dries and provides excellent coverage. It smells like acne medication, which for me, is a good sign. My skin is relatively calm when it comes to acne, but sometimes I do get random breakouts. (TMI) I had an under the skin zit by my nose that had been chilling on my face, uninvited for the last week, but once I started using this, it finally started to get smaller! I would give 5 lippies if only there were a couple more shades, and better packaging. I have somewhat light, but olive skin and the 2nd shade (“light”) was too dark, but the 1st shade (“fair”) is too light. I’d rather use the paler shade than too dark, so that’s what I’ve been using. As for the packaging, it’s a bit impractical–you either twist and get very little to nothing, or twist and a bunch of it comes out. Overall, you really can’t beat the price with a formulation that actually zaps pimples. I was previously using the clear complexion concealer by Almay which also works well, but for some reason disappears if I apply anything else on top of it. BUT, I’d rather use this one by Elf because it is paraben-free, and it actually WORKS, unlike the Almay one.

This concealer is awesome! I got it in correcting green and it has cleared my acne up so well. For the reviewers that said that this left them with green spots over their face clearly don’t know how to use it. It’s green so obviously it’s going to show up green on your skin. You don’t just slap it on your face and expect it to blend with your skin. After applying this wait for it to dry and apply a concealer that matches your skin tone. Problem solved!

This is a really nice concealer! It covers blemishes really well, it’s cheap… AND! it doesn’t slide around or disappears when I apply powder, which is a problem I have with a lot of other concealers, even expensive ones (no matter how careful I am). The reason why I will not give it a fifth lipstick, is the packaging.

Hate the felt tip but love the coverage.

Got in corrective green and it makes me look like the hulk because my foundation smears it no matter how long I wait for it to dry or how little I use or how well I try to blend it in. It’s like face paint and it too dark of a green once it goes on. Wayyyy too much comes out when you twist the pen as well. Just terrible.
