No, this one didn’t work for me, I was quite excited to try it but it doesn’t really cancel out the blue under my eyes and it is rather noticeable when I wear it. I can’t seem to make it blend properly so it just looks weird on me. It has a dark colour and I am NCW15, so it looks like I put something dark under my eyes, which, to be honest, is what I did. I don’t recommend this one.

Face Stockholm has been around for years but, for whatever reason, it remains fairly unknown. It’s never listed in beauty magazines. I think the most press it ever got was when it was discovered that the late Carolyn Bessette Kennedy wore the line’s Cranberry Veil lipstick. That’s a pity because I’ve recently discovered this line has some really awesome products. First on that list is this great little corrector.
I’ve only recently started dabbling in the world of concealers. I’ve generally avoided it all these years because the only thing that really needs concealing on my face that foundation can’t take care of are my the dark circles. These puppies aren’t from a lack of sleep but are a result of constant allergies which I have year round because I live in a swamp. The few times I’ve tried to conceal them, it’s obvious. Very obvious. My skin is tan and have some pretty strong yellow undertones which I think makes most concealers look a bit odd on me. Then there’s the whole intimidation factor – Do I put concealer on before foundation? After? It it suppose to be a shade darker or is it suppose to match my skin tone? Too many questions that have far too many answers depending on who you ask. Anyhow, despite my previous poor results and fear, I decided I must do something about these things. As I’m still wading through concealer choices, what color to get and how to apply it, I decided to try something in the meantime – enter Neutralizer Blue.
The idea behind Neutralizer Blue is the color wheel – one color cancels out another or something like that – so this cream will “correct” purple/blueish discolorations (bruises, etc.). When I first opened this wee pot up, I was extremely disappointed. It looks like a too-light-for-me tannish concealer that isn’t capable of canceling out anything let alone my purplish dark circles. I don’t know what happens between the pot and the application but somehow, some way, this tannish goop cancels out that purple darkness and makes me look rested. The first time I applied this, I literally stood in front of the mirror for a good two minutes in awe. Yep, it looks that good. I’ve only worn this a few time so I still need to tweak the application but thus far, I love it. I’m not going to say some incredible things like “I look 15 years younger!” or “People mistook me for a 21 year old!” because that ain’t true. I just look incredibly well rested and unsickly when I wear this. That’s quite an accomplishment. The color of it might be off putting to some lighter or darker skinned folks (I’m an NC30) but from what I understand, this magically works on all skin tones.
In the few reviews that I’ve found online about this product, every person said they layered this with a concealer. The few times I’ve worn it, I’ve simply slapped on whatever foundation I’m using on top of it and set it with powder (under my eyes only). That seemed to worked pretty well for me, but I may try it with a concealer in the future. I haven’t noticed any weird creasing and it appears to wear for about eight or nine hours. The cream itself isn’t terribly creamy but it also isn’t too dry. As always, moisturize before applying this and you should be fine.
In all my reviews, I always list the “downsides” but this time I don’t have many about the product itself. At first glance, this is expensive ($26 for 0.1 oz.) but you need so very little (seriously, don’t pile this on) that a pot should last any normal human being at least a year. Face Stockholm can be a little difficult to find though it appears there are a few more online retailers are stocking selected items from the line (you can always use the official site but I’m a sucker for free shipping and you gotta spend $50 on their site to qualify). I would highly, highly recommend this for anyone struggling with dark circles or blue veins.
