I much prefer this to YSL touch eclat which I always found to be too goopy and thick. I have tried EVERY product out there (I do like the pots of MAC concealer but it’s a bit thick for daytime use) – you name it. I have such dark purple circles in my inner eye and below my eye (started after I had kids.. LOL) that I looked exhausted all the time. And my eyes are my best feature so it’s been a constant purchase/return/purchase/return on EVERY concealer under the sun. Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Armani, Clarins, Dior, Benefit. YOU NAME IT. I must say that I got talked into trying this by a very good Trish make up fellow visiting from NYC — and I am glad I did. When I got home my 15 year old daughter said “MOM YOU LOOK 40!” (I am 53 so I take that as a compliment!) My eyes looked great and the make up did NOT cake into my fine lines which I hate. I tried it again myself without the expert around and it looked fantastic ALL day yesterday even after a tailgate party all afternooon. I have never been crazy about the pen application but at this point, I am just working with it as I like the product and how it ultimately looks so much better than anything else out there!! I am a very natural type of busy gal, don’t wear foundation nor makeup other than lipstick during the day, have olive undertone skin/blonde hair/blue eyes and black eyebrows (people have always said almost on a daily basis that I look like a dark blonde Brooke Shields my whole life) so my eyes are so important to me.. glad I found this product. Try it — you can always return in.

PROS: Less chalky finish than most of these highlighting pens leave. Pretty wide variety of color choices. #1 was an effective highlighter for my N10 (lean warm) skin.
CONS: Price. Strange scent that is kind of unpleasant. Does dry just a LITTLE chalky. Some may not like that it is a very thin consistency.
ALTERNATES: Chanel’s Eclat Lumiere and or Givency’s “Mister” pen or some name like that is quite nice. for actual under-eye concealing (not highlighting): My new happiness I’ve found is using MAC’s tinted moisturizer under my eyes (Yes, under my eyes!) and then Stila’s Stay All Day Concealer only in the dark circles. By doing this, I don’t highlight my puffy bags underneath my eyes. I’ve heard of people using foundation under their eyes before, but it’s always looked horrible on me, until I tried that MAC t.m. Anyway, the Stila on top really does the trick of truly concealing the circles and making sure it will last even longer.

This is an ok concealer. I am not a fan of the click pen. It brightens dark circles but doesn’t do much for puffiness. I use it on days that I am not wearing make-up for a quick eye pick me up.

I agree with the other reviewers that this is a good pen type product for concealing, but it does not really brighten as much as the YSL. I also have the Clinique concealer pen and I find that the Trish pen conceals better.

Initial first week reaction – I love this pen! The consistency is light and sheer yet somehow it manages to cover my really bad dark circles. I also use it on acne scars and pimples. It looks like I’m not wearing anything on my face… It just looks like i’m glowing from within and that I have a naturally even complextion. I hate the price but other than that I’d recommend it to anyone!
After two months – I don’t know what happened, but it doesn’t cover up the way it used to. It is really natural which I like, and it’s a little luminous as well however, it’s ability to cover up is not the same. I still use it for acne scars but not for pimples.. it’s too sheer. Sometimes it manages to cover up my dark circles, other times it doesn’t. I just don’t understand what happened. I’m on the look to see if there’s something better out there.

This product is marketed as a combination highlighter and concealer/corrector. I do not think it highlights or brightens very well, especially when compared to YSL’s Touche Eclat, but it provides decent coverage for correcting purposes. Specifically, it covers dark under eye circles and redness around my nose. I end up using it as a concealer more than anything. I don’t think it conceals as well as other products (e.g., Laura Mercier). That said, I love the convenience of this item for travel.
This product is 3.8 ml or 0.12 oz (compare to YSL’s Touche Eclat which is 2.5 ml, 0.1 oz). The diameter of the pen is about twice the size of YSL’s. It is silver instead of gold. It is NOT a click pen, but a twist pen, which I actually prefer since I’ve accidentally clicked my YSL on too many occasions. The brush itself is also twice as wide as YSL’s so it is better for broader applications. This of course means that it is more difficult to do precision work near the eye since the brush is wider.
I have Shade 2. For reference I use LM tinted moisturizer in Sand and her Undercover Pot in 3 (which, by the way, I think is a superior concealer). I have yellow undertones and I think Shade 2 might be a bit pink for me, but it was the closest match. The product applies smoothly, but I can see how it could settle into fine line in an unattractive way.
I MIGHT repurchase, but only because it is so convenient when I travel. For applying at home, I would NOT use this.
