I haven’t done a review in awhile but couldn’t help but rave about the Black Radiance concealer stick( Shade Meduim). Currently,I’m on my fifth one and absolutely love it.The company itself caters to women of color which is amazing because we like to look and feel beautiful without breaking the bank. The concealer stick is like a lipstick in design only for the face so it’s easy to apply. I use it as a light weight foundation due to the coverage and having hyperpigmentation( dark spots) it is excellent in concealing without looking cake. Did I mention it’s only $5?

I love this concealer. I have the shades light and dark, and they are great. I originally bought the shade light to highlight, but unfortunately the undertones were in my opinion a little to red. And I bought the darkest shade to contour and it is absolutely beautiful. These concealers blend like a dream, last a long time if set properly, and they are only $2.

I had such high hopes for this concealer based on the brand. I LOVE Black Radiance and have heard such good things about the concealer stick but, in the color Dark for contouring. I purchased the color Light at my local Walgreens for $2.49 in hopes of a good under eye highlight and I must say the quality is shown in the price. The concealer is dry and not easily blend-able and just doesn’t work for me. A minor thing is that I think that the color selection is a not where it should be. There are only three shades and from light to medium is too drastic change, just in my opinion. I am trying to not disregard this concealer and find ways to work with it but…… I don’t see myself ever liking this product.

Im asian w olive tan skin. Recently developed melasma and have been desperately trying to cover it up, especially the discoloration above my lip like a mustache. Tried so many concealers but can still see the grey underneath. Ugh. Recently read that orangey/salmon colored concealer will cancel out the blue in the discoloration; picked this up and works like a dream! It’s a little dry, but the color match in light w my skin is perfect. It’s akin to the Nars Ginger concealer color but somehow conceals the blueish tone better. Thank you – love it.
lazyGarlic5
It does the job. I have this product in dark and use it for under my eyes and around my mouth area. I can wear this without foundation and it will blend in. I needed to use it a few times before the stick became easier to use.

What a great buy! I love my high end cosmetics, but I love drug store products equally. I use this concealer in light underneath my eyes. I don’t have bad under eye circles but I use it there to brighten the area. It does an overall good job. I have also used it on blemishes. You can’t go wrong with the price either.
eagerChough9
This concealer is amazing for my undr eye dark circles, and perfect for the price, plus it really blends in with your skin, so even though there’s only about 4 colors one of them is bound to work for any woman of color.

Love this product! It’s so seamless. I wear giorgio armani luminous silk in 9, i mix nars luminous weightless in syacuse and cadiz, coverfx mineral powder n60-n70 and caramel matches me perfectly. It seems like my skin tone throughout the year doesn’t shift too far out of the colour range this shade covers. I especially love this for when i just want light coverage or for touchups. It doesn’t break me out and i have acne prone skin (but clear thanks to paulas choice btw). The price is less than ideal but I would buy this again because it does exactly what i want. I love the creamy concealer as well. They are both very natural looking. I think this concealer isn’t as full coverage as other highly pigmented ones so some ppl may not prefer it but i love it!

I use this concealer to cover my acne scars. I haven’t used this as my under eye concealer. So this review is based on that. This concealer comes in many shades which is great as you will find out your skin shade match. My skin tone is nc42 in mac, the shade caramel matches my skin color perfectly. I can use it without foundation also, only to cover scars. It blends well and stay well also. It seems little drying though which is ok for scar coverage as it does not move. But it may be drying for under eyes though I’m not sure as I never used it under my eyes. It comes in a lipstick (stick) type packaging. Which you have to roll in order to make it come out. You can apply the stick directly on the face without using hand/brush. I blend it using my real technique sponge. The price is $25 which is ok as it has a good color match. Overall very nice product, highly recommended (for blemishes) .

I really wanted to love this concealer, but it did not live up to my expectations. I moisturized my face and around the eye area before using it. No matter how much I blended the concealer, it looked creased on my skin. The coverage of dark under eye circles and dark spots was not good. The good thing was that it had no fragrance and you just swipe it on to apply it.
sugaryWigeon6
i like it. I don’t used it for under eye shadows but it covers redness very well.

I’m infatuated with this product, it’s also the only concealer that works on me. I have dry skin after a green tea mask, oily skin all other times, and my face makeup stays matte after 10 years of perfecting my makeup routine. (I’m very proud of my current foundation routine and products!!)
This concealer works because it’s easy to use (I prefer solid stick concealer) and I travel with it. I put it in my carry-on without worrying about the limit on liquids or whatever. Under my eyes, around my nose, and to cover blemishes, it works great. Between my eyebrows, my skin tends to be dry there and the concealer doesn’t look so good… still acceptable! unless people are super close to my face, they will notice that it looks dry. But who’s THAT close anyways? Only boys are THAT close and by then, they won’t be noticing my makeup 😉
However, I only dab it on and blend with my fingers. Custard is the perfect colour for me (I am C3 in MAC), it covers my blemishes very very very well.
The lasting power isn’t so good though (7 hours tops?). Thus explains my “infatuation” and thus it’s only 4 stars. Near perfect. But for now it’s my go-to. It’s not my concealer under makeup, it’s my concealer for “Today I have absolutely no makeup except concealer around my nose.” And it works wonderfully. For concealer under my makeup, I have a multi-colour corrector palette.

Great product

I just got this concealer after reading so many product reviews on MUA and I have to say that it is a very good concealer. It’s small and expensive but I would rather pay more for something that actually works like it’s suppose to and looks as beautiful on the skin as this one does. Beautiful is exactly what it is too with no creasing or drying and getting cakey looking under the eyes. I can honestly say that this is the best concealer that I have ever used in my life and I will absolutely continue to purchase it. I have quiet a lot to conceal on my face, I have a lot of redness from sun damage and I also use it under my eyes to cover up darkness. Try this concealer because it’s worth a try.
pitifulHyena5
I bought this on sale for like $2 bucks at ulta so for the price paid I could not complain. I use it as a reverse lip liner on my lips and to clean up and contour my eyebrows after applying my dipbrow pomade and it makes them look clean and on point. (yes, I refuse to say on fleek
-_-) it’s a major bonus that its waterproof and super blendable. this is definitely one of the products worth throwing in your purse for emergency touch ups. it won’t take up much space and is a great little multitasker. too bad it’s getting discontinued. I would definitely repurchase. I bought the nyx wonder pencil which works well but I liked that this was retractable and waterproof.
debonairKitten2
A total failure. I used this concealer three times at the most. It’s bad, smells horrible and does absolutely nothing. Don’t bother!
mellowOryx3
This is one of those products where it sits in the background and you don’t realize how great it is until you used it again. I bought it for about $5.99 and have it in the shade Nutmeg (dark neutral yellow) and I use it for highlighting. People complain of it being “too dry”, but I never had a problem with it; it’s creamy, pigmented and with a damp bb sponge it sheers out nicely. I use Ruby Kisses HD powder to set the area (another underrated product) and no creasing, no settling into pores and no godawful ghostly flashback I get with others I’ve used. It’s also slim, has a cap and twists up and down- so I can apply it precisely where I need it and it won’t get dried out. Lately, NYX has been rolling out tons of new products, and I’m worried that the next time I go into my corner beauty store it’ll be discontinued. Guess it’s time to stock up just in case, I finally found my HG!
jubilantLard0
No no no. I was really unhappy with this concealer stick. I am a huge of fan of NYX products and naturally wanted to try everything they came out with, this being one. Their eyeshadows and blushes, sprays, and bb creams are fab, but sadly, they need to rework their concealing products. The stick is super dry, almost chalk-like and is a bi*** to get on the face. You literally have to press down so hard for any product to visibly show up on your face. I wanted to use it once as an eyelid primer because the consistency is so thick and matte but I had to literally scrape the product onto my finger and then transfer it on to my eyelid because pressing that hard onto my eyelid would hurt. I would not purchase this stick again, I can’t really use it for much.
sugarySalt2
I’m a big NYX lover so when they came out in these I bought very color to add to my kit. Sad to say these concealer pencils suck 🙁 The forumla is very dry almost hard to dispense (like you really have to apply with a heavy hand, which I hate for the under eyes area) looks chalky like. Wouldn’t recommend this for anyone. Sorry NYX this not a good one 🙁
needfulTomatoe3
Not a good concealer for those with dry skin, and definitely not good for dry under-eye skin. It is far too dry and cakey, doesn’t last very long, and the coverage is not good.
wornoutCrane9
OK first, packaging:
It looks nice. Problem is, when I used it for the second time after I bought it, the concealer stick broke & fell right out of the packaging. You know, like a broken pencil. And I didn’t even use it with pressure. Meh.
Coverage:
Light. That is to say, hardly covering anything. And when I used it under my eyes, it was so ashy and bluish that I looked like someone just punched my eyes.
Staying power:
2-3 hr. Need to touch up after that.
Will I buy it again? Definitely no.
lovesickWhiting1
This concealer is yucky. It slides right off before you can even blend it out. It doesn’t have great coverage, so in order to get any coverage, you have to cake it on, and that kind of defeats the purpose of what I want to make my skin look like. It’s cheap, the packaging isn’t bad, but not a huge fan at all.
awedCheese2
The only stick type concealer I’ve purchased, other than this, is the classic Maybelline one, which I’ve been using forEVER The Maybelline one stays in my purse for touch-ups of blemishes in the event my foundation wears off. It’s great for that. But it isn’t so great for the under-eye area because it is a bit too waxy and the thicker consistency tends to tug delicate under-eye skin. I decided to pick this N.Y.C. stick concealer up mostly because of price. I bought “Light” which turns out to be too light even for my fair skin. (I hate Target’s cosmetic isle lighting; it actually makes it harder not easier for me to figure out what is a match for my skin, but that’s another story.)
This N.Y.C. concealer stick is the opposite of the Maybelline stick concealer. It isn’t quite as buildable but it blends much more easily, probably because it contains vitamin e and/or less wax. I can use this on my under-eye area and top it with my better matched foundation for a brighter eye-area look. I do wish this product was made in the U.S., Canada or the UK but it is made in China like too many low-end cosmetics these days. On the flip side, this is not a lip product that I might ingest to some extent (eating/drinking) so I’m not going to ditch it for that reason alone. In conclusion, I do find this less effective at covering blemishes but also more easy to blend. If Medium turns out to be a better color match it might serve to be more buildable. For angry red blemishes, I would say “meh” because it isn’t as opaque as Maybelline’s stick concealer. For brightening the eye area, though? This definitely does the job.
crushedShads5
This concealer is great to conceal dark cirlces under my eyes, and for some people good for hiding imperfections.
worldlySmelt9
This is my favortie drugstore concealer. Stick concealers are my favortie, because they cover more and blend easily. I use this under my eyes and on trouble areas (red spots, blemishes, zits etc.) and I don’t have any complaints about it. It covers well, and I never have to touch it up. Considering the $2 price tag, and coverage, I think this should be in every girl’s makeup bag!
sincereLlama7
I actually love this concealer as a touch up tool for spot-concealing blemishes; I generally like to keep an inexpensive concealer stick for spot jobs in my bag and this does the job well, for a great price. I’ve never used it on my under eyes but I would imagine that it would be difficult unless your undereyes are super oily. I do sometimes have a hard time finding it, however, and end up replacing it with Wet N Wild’s comparable but slightly more expensive product, which is a little creamier and sometimes seems to have better coverage.
drearyBoars4
I remember having this product in high school and when I went searching for a cheap yellow concealer in a hurry, I picked this up. It is not very smooth and just not very good quality. Maybe I’m older and wiser now? 🙂 Pass on this. There are better drugstore choices. Even Maybelline’s, although not amazing, is much better consistency.
worldlyCrane3
This is one of my least favorite drugstore products ever. I wore it under my eyes and on blemishes one day at school and every body kept looking at me weird and saying my “under the eye area” looked really dark. I looked in the mirror and saw that it had completely dried out my skin- that’s not normally dry at all. It had also enhanced the darkness under my eye rather then covering them up. It also gave me wrinkles under my eyes which I’ve NEVER noticed~I’m only seventeen and I have very young looking skin~ and I had to walk around like that until I got home. This is just gross. It made me look scary. Please save your money.
lyingPorpoise4
No matter how I use this product, it turns out patchy for me.
I have used it with an oil and water based moisturizer. I have tried to use it with different primers. I tried to use it with setting powder and with setting spray. I have tried applying it with the fingertip, with a sponge, with a damped sponge, and with a concealer brush but it still comes out patchy after a couple of hours.
The product itself is on the thicker side, and not that difficult to blend with whatever tool you prefer.
The packaging is OK; I use a brush to get the product, for sanitary reasons.
Since the product goes patchy on me, I will not repurchase.
worldlyCoconut8
I like that this covers blemishes just as well as it covers dark circles. The texture is not too dry or too soft, and it doesn’t cake up unless you use a lot, and even then it’s not as bad as others I’ve tried. It’s not so greasy that it causes eye makeup to bleed. I like the tube that it comes in, but the concealer stick broke loose after about a month. I have fair skin and the lightest color available, 02, although wearable isn’t very effective at making me look less tired. I will have to switch to another brand because none of the other colors offered is light enough for me.
enragedMagpie8
I was looking for a really pigmented concealer for my undereye area, and this looked less pinkish than a few other brands in the store…so I tried it in the lightest shade, nr 01. But it was far too fair even on my winter-pale skin….I’m really, really pale, but this concealer becomes white on the skin… It’s thick and covers, but its hard to find a good shade, and expensive to buy two ones only to try to mix them every morning….
It also has a very, very dry and matte consistency, which makes it hard to use it “as a highlight above your upper lip” ( I have some foundations and concealers that can serve as that) or to highlight other areas. But this is impossible, cause it seems to be ment for maybe covering spots if you find the right shade…
It’s really sad that clarins doesn’t sell these concealers in more shades than 3!!
truthfulCaviar1
Excellent! It creases the least and lasts the longest without drying.
superiorChowder8
Not the best concealer I’ve tried. It doesn’t cover my dark circles well.
cockyPonie9
Splendid concealer: for use on the face, like LM Camouflage. UPDATE [2011-05]: also currently using this on the eyes: eyelids and up to brow bone.
Nothing fancy, just does what it’s supposed to. It’s a solid waxy stick in a slightly stubby white twisty tube with a nice shiny silvery cap: lacking Clarins’ usual labelling on the side. Exists in three colours thus far, of which 01 is good on pale skin with a cool to neutral undertone (tested on self and fellow PPP pals: NW5, 10, and 15). No oxidation / turning orange to report. As usual with Clarins, this is hit or miss – this time I happened to be lucky, but they can be poor for paler-toned people, and even poorer for the deeper-toned (as witness, other pals who are NW/NC 20-60: especially bad in the 45-60+range, any undertone).
The waxiness of the formula seems forbidding, but I found it easy to apply and blend (one can use a clean fingertip, a Q-tip, or a brush) and it neither caused nor aggravated spots. My skin seems happier with concealers like this that contain candelilla (and bees’) wax, OK with some silicones, less happy with cyclopentasiloxane (which is of course in nearly every concealer out there, and much else besides). Mainly using it just concealing redder bits (being pale, any old healed zits, scars, and so on show up a lot), sometimes concealing the odd spot or irritated patch. This sits there comfortably – neither greasy nor dry. Brush a dab of powder on top to be on the safe side, and ignore it for the rest of the day.
UPDATE: Good on eyes. Currently using this on eyelids and up to eyebrows, to even out colour. It’s moist enough–so no drying out and flaky skin–yet the waxiness seems to ensure it stays there. No migration or creeping into folds. It’s one of the only things I can use on my eyelids when in allergy season and/or eczema back. Note that the Stick contains no bismuth oxychloride, or indeed very much else besides waxes, silica, mica, and the less-likely-to-irtritate pigments.
I applied over eye cream and sunscreen, using a small brush. Using clean brush, transfer some Stick to back of hand. Use hand as palette to apply to eye from there.
Texture, feel, finish not a million miles from various other waxy concealers that are good around the eyes.
I wouldn’t want to jinx things by claiming that Clarins are upping their game, but – having tested many concealers high and low recently, from Almay to Chantecaille – this is a Good ‘Un. Price – somewhere in the CAD 25-30 range for 2.6g. Fragrance-free. As usual with Clarins, cruelty-free and fairly environmentally responsible.
INGREDIENTS: CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, OCTYLDODECANOL, DIISOSTEARYL MALATE, CANDELILLA CERA/EUPHORBIA CERIFERA (CANDELILLA) WAX, CERA MICROCRISTALLANA/MICROCRYSTALLINE WAX, STEARALKONIUM HECTORITE, CERA ALBA/BEESWAX, SILICA, HYDROGENATED POLYCYCLOPENTADIENE, ETHYLCELLULOSE, ISODECANE, TOCOPHEROL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, POLYETHYLENE, RETINYL PALMITATE +/- MAY CONTAIN: CI 77718/TALC, CI 77019/MICA, CI 77891/TITANIUM DIOXIDE, CI 77491/77492/77499 IRON OXIDES.

The new concealer from Clarins is dependable and easy to use. It’s in a creamy stick form, however isn’t greasy or difficult to work with. The palest shade is actually pale and neutral enough for me, which is rare. My only gripe is that it doesn’t say “non-comedogenic”, which I usually depend on Clarins for. No breakouts yet, will update if issues occur.
excitedWhiting9
This is the only concealer that does the job for me. I use the medium shade to cover up my dark circles and any other imperfections and the light shade to highlight under my eyes and the bridge of my nose. Works like a dream. Great product.
selfishLlama6
I’m very new to the concealer world, in fact today is my first day at trying them out. I’ve noticed the dark circles under my eyes have become more apparent then I’d like them to be so I took the plunge at buying 3 stick concealers from Black Radiance. Light, Medium and Dark. I’ve been experimenting with them and realize that the Light, when used right under the arch of my eyebrow, and even in the crease of my eyes, tends to open up my eyes and makes them look younger! The Medium shade seems a pretty good match to cover the dark circles under my eyes and even the very inner of my nose bridge closest to my eyes. I’ve yet to use the Dark and actually, don’t think I’ll need it but maybe it can be used as an eyeshadow (something else I’m unfamiliar with using!) But, I’m quite satisfied with how easy it is to blend these concealers with my finger. Tomorrow when I put on a “full face”, I’ll see how everything goes together but for now, there’s no really heavy feel and I’m pleased with the results! For $1.99 each, you can’t go wrong!

I need to use concealer due to dark circles under my eyes, some redness and blemishes. Unfortunately I don’t feel comfortable without.
Things I like about this concealer:
– Colour matches quite well
– It is not very wet or creamy so it doesn’t make me break out at all
– Covers redness well
Things I don’t like:
– Price to size ratio doesn’t match up. It’s $30 at Sephora and only lasts me a month or so.
– On the flip side, it can be a bit too dry. Sometimes I can almost hear the dryness of it as I’m blending it onto my face.
– Can crease
I’ve repurchased this several times already and will continue to do so until I get motivated enough to look for something of similar quality that won’t make me break out and that perhaps lasts me a bit longer than a month.
annoyedDoughnut0
This concealer creases like crazy on me, and barely even lasts two hours!
If you already own this, I would recommend using it on spots, scars, or pigmentation only and not under the eyes because it will crease and crinkle.
Overall, the pigmentation is strong, it blends out easily, has a weak lasting power, and the price simply isn’t worth such little product.
If you’re set on purchasing a NARS concealer try the Radiant Creamy Concealer instead, the stick concealer simply isn’t worth it.
abjectShads0
I LOVE this concealer. My under eye circles aren’t that bad so I can go without concealer but this helps on days were my eyes are looking really tired, I also have some discolouration around my mouth and on my nose and this covers it perfectly. I’ve also been trying to grow out my eyebrows which has been a pain since it looks weird, and this concealer was a lifesaver when it came to that. I was however, hesitant when I first used it because it is very yellow toned so I threw it to the side. When I decided to come back to it— it settled onto my skin nicely. The consultancy is thick but nothing that bothers me. The only downside I had to this is that I went through it fast
aloofHoopoe7
I find this concealer to be meh. I have this in the color CS03 Light. I bought this concealer to help conceal blemishes/acne staining and redness around my nose and eyes. I useally wear Bare Minerals foundation which doesnt provide the best coverage but it doesnt break me out so I need a concealer on top of it to help with some of the other skin issues. This doesnt really cover my acne stains at all. I will dab the stick on the problem area and gently dab to blend but even after a couple of coats I dont notice much of a difference. This does help a bit with the redness around my nose and on my eyelids though. I had a big pimple a few weeks ago and this also did an ok job covering that but I also needed to apply many layers of this just to have a decent amount of coverage. The color of this is light with a pink undertone but my MAC studio finish in nw20 is allot more pink than this. It blends nicely with my skintone and luckly hasnt caused any breakouts but it just doesnt do that great of a job at concealing. I will continue to use this as its better than nothing but I would not repurchase this.
worriedCrane8
I don’t know what to think of this. I believe I threw mine away. It was a nice concealer and worked well right after applying. Yet maybe 2-3hrs in and it’d be gone. You could see all the redness around my nose, the 3 lines (capillaries) by my mouth, and my under eye circles. How is it going to be waterproof if the staying power in dry conditions is nonexistent?
fondBass8
Love, love, love. Sure, the color selection is limited but I’m luck to be a great match to #04. Long lasting, natural looking, slim/compact packaging. Easy application, and I love the accuracy of the application tip.
gutturalOcelot9
This is horrible. Just a dab makes undereyes look cakey and wrinkley. When I put it on my zits it makes them look crusty even after I exfoliate and moisturize. It has very little coverage. I’m so sad, I really wanted this to work
tautChowder6
This is a fantabulous concealer in my opinion. Well, my under eyes are oily (not extremely oily but just oily), this concealer is quite dry but it doesn’t pull my skin when I apply it. Because the concealer is quite dry and my under eyes are quite oily, it’s just a good combination. I bought this in the shade Medium and it’s the correct shade for me. The best part of it is the price, it’s cheap and so affordable. I gave it 5 stars because considering about the price, the packaging is quite good (nothing special, but it’s not bad) and the formula of it is amazing for its price.
pluckyPretzels5
I was not impressed. The colors run really light and the darker colors are harder to find. The color I bought was too light but appeared way darker int he packaging which is misleading. This product appears chalky and beads on my face. The coverage is light and non-buildable. It didn’t cover a light freckle and just highlighted my dark circles instead of covering them. The only pro of this product is that it’s cheap.
