This product is amazing. It is a very thick product, but looks natural against the skin. A little goes a long way, I simply take a small amount of this concealer, melt it between my fingers and then dab onto my undereye area to conceal, before blending out with a brush. It covers and corrects any dark circles I have, without looking heavy or cakey on the skin. It also feels very comfortable and light on the skin – I forget I have it on! I set it with translucent powder (Rimmel Stay Matte) and it stays put all day, and does not crease at all! I regularly wear this during 8 hour retail shifts and it stays looking perfect. It lasts through heat, humity and sweating. A little goes a long way, so a tube will last forever, which is good as it is quite pricey. I am onto my second tube of this product and will continue to repurchase.

I have incredibly sensitive eyes and was really pleased this pleased it didn’t make my eyes run or give my sensitive skin a rash.
It’s also so thick you could probably spackle all the walls of your house with it.
It gave full coverage, after I put on some colour corrector. It gives way better coverage than any other concealer I’ve had and the travel tube will probably last me 2 years. And absolutely brightened things up.
No, it did not cover my fine lines – NOTHING COVERS FINE LINES. Wear those lines with pride, people! You earned them!
But it did not accentuate them either.

I’ve been a fan of the original Bye Bye Undereye concealer for years. Initially, I struggled with it because it’s so thick and tacky but once I learned how to use it, it became one of my “go to/reliable” concealers that I could always count on (unlike MAC Pro Longwear and Nars Radiant Creamy, which can sometimes look great and sometimes make me regret reaching for them). I was eager to try the “Illumination” version and since IT is now available at the Sephora near me, obviating the need to pay for shipping and handling from TSC, I picked this up during the VIB Sale in the shade Medium (I wish there was something between Light and Medium as there is or was with the original). Like the original, it is very thick – so thick, in fact, that I have trouble getting it to come out of the tube. In all honesty, I don’t see a whole heap of difference between this and the original but maybe I need to take a good look at myself in bright daylight. The one major difference I do notice is that this one doesn’t seem nearly as long-wearing as the original – by the end of the work day, this is breaking up and disappearing, which surprised me. I think I might have read somewhere – on the box, perhaps, which I’ve since tossed – that this gives 8 hour coverage and that’s pretty much my experience. My day goes a lot longer than 8 hours, though. My original BBU actually became less thick and dry textured over time and much easier to work with, sort of the opposite of what you expect generally. I am guessing that this product will do the same because for now, I have to make sure to use a hydrating cream under my eyes before using this.

Sat in every line I have….even set with powder. Bummed because it really conceals!!

This is a very thick, strongly pigmented concealer. I can’t stress enough just how little you need for under your eyes. I use only the size of a pin head, rub between my fingers to warm it up and then gently dot under my eyes and blend it out with the dual ended concealer/foundation brush and when you do this, the coverage is perfect. If you apply it too heavily there will be creasing and settling into fine lines. Set with It Cosmetics bye bye setting powder (loose or pressed, doesn’t matter) and it will last all day long. The illumination is not sparkly or shiny, it’s brightening. Do not expect this to correct dark circles as well as a color correcting concealer, it is not designed to do this. Great packaging – comes in a squeeze tube with a fine tip end. Some of the jar packaged products they offer would be best served in either this delivery method or the squeeze tube with pump dispenser (like the CC cream). I wouldn’t repurchase this but only because I prefer to have a concealer that is more multi-purpose for me and I’ve found that in other brands I’ve tried.

Same formula and shades as the regular BBU but with illumination. I am fair/neutral and have medium which is perfect (their shades run light). It is the perfect amount of light to aid in diminishing the darkness under the eyes but also the very difficult area in the corner by the bridge of the nose. The illumination is not detectable as such and in fact, besides being more effective as a concealer, the illumination also makes it look more natural than the original. This knocks them ALL out of the park and I’m saying Nars, Cle de Peau, Armani. The winner by far. As with the original, you only need the amount that would fit on the head of a pin. No creasing, lasts all day. Answered prayer.
