I have peri-menepausal skin that is quick to redden and break out, due to irritation. My skin is slightly dry but not to the extent that I have flakes. I ran out of my Banila Sherbert cleanser so bought this on impulse from Walgreens. It was 10 bucks so figured I’d give it a try.
The fragrance is a light sage / floral.
I’m a bit of a foam addict so I really liked the texture – creme to foam. It is very creamy out of the tube but immediately foams when comes in contact with water…much like some of the Shiseido cleansers.
A word of caution, however, it really stings if it gets into the eyes.
I’d been outside working in the yard all day so my face was filthy. This cleanser definitely cleaned every last bit of grime and left me feeling fresh and exfoliated.
I’d had a couple of zits beginning to form and the next morning, they weren’t as red and swelling had gone down. However, I wouldn’t use this product every day or in the Winter – as I think that it would be too drying for my skin. But this is an excellent cleanser for anyone prone to Acne. The Lauric Acid in this product isn’t an acid that strips. It’s actually the same fatty acid found in Coconut Oil and is known for it’s soothing, anti-bacterial properties. The ingredient list is solid except for the sue of Potassium Hydroxide- which can be irritating to some. Chia Seed is the 4th ingredient down and there are no sulfates.
I’d say that is this a great product to have in your arsenal…for those days grimy face days!
