I don’t mind this cleanser, I find it to be a pretty basic universal cleanser. Which, in my opinion, makes it overpriced. I was hoping to be wowed but it’s just ok.
There’s nothing wrong with it, I like the texture and the smell. I feel like it cleanses my face nicely, removing makeup well without leaving residue. I love the aesthetic of the product and was hoping to like it enough to repurchase once I went through the travel size but I likely won’t.

I have dry skin and I’m 48. This was way too drying for my skin. No “youth” here.

This smells amazing, and my boyfriend inherited my bottle and he really likes it on his skin. However for me, I just found it too drying with continuous use. I was sad it didn’t work for me though because using it was lovely. I just need a more gentle cleanser.

I LOVE this stuff. I’m not one to spend a lot on face wash, it’s on your face for a total of 30 seconds, but dang this stuff is nice. For reference I have dry/borderline dehydrated skin, flakiness and texture on my forehead, hormonal acne and scarring on my chin with large sebaceous filaments on my nose.
I’ve tried a lot of face washes in the past few years, and I don’t think I’ve re-purchased any of them. I’ve tried the classics: Fresh Soy cleanser, Philosophy Purity, CeraVe, you name it. I’ve even tried some “pH balancing” cleansers with mediocre results. This is the first cleanser I’ve really enjoyed and plan on repurchasing. The main reason I like this is that it effectively cleans my skin without drying or stripping it. It’s hit that perfects balance- it gets my makeup off easily, but if I forget to moisturize after my skin isn’t itchy and flaky the rest of the day. I also really like that it is SLS free and fragrance free.
Another part that is pretty impressive is that it seems to manage my redness. For the longest time, I grappled with surface redness on my skin. I tried everything, but nothing seemed to make a difference (and most things made it worse). It could be dietary/lifestyle changes, but it seems like since I’ve used this cleanser, that redness has decreased and almost gone away. Now I can see my actual skin tone, not the inflamed redness I was used to before.
My only complaint about this is the packaging. I am not at home all the time, and the pump-top glass bottle is not travel friendly in the slightest. In fact, I have a tiny sink in my bathroom and I have knocked this off the sink a few times. I’ve been lucky and this hasn’t broken, but I know that is a definite possibility. The glass is more sustainable and is recyclable which I appreciate, but if you are clumsy and/or travel a lot, it is something to consider. Other than that, a great cleanser that will probably be my first face wash repurchase!

Is this supposed to foam up? I really thought because it is a gel formula it would have foamed, at least a little bit. I can’t say that I enjoyed the bottle I purchased. I’m glad I got the mini because the full-size is expensive and really not worth it, at least for my taste in cleansers. Speaking of taste… when I used this because it thinned out so quickly I swear it got onto my lips and somehow seeped into my mouth because I had that “mouth washed out with soap” taste I remember from when I was a kid. It’s the kind of taste you NEVER want to experience more than once so you smarten up and learn your lesson real quick! Funny, for being a “superfood” face wash, it didn’t taste so good. LOL!! I should mention, as far as it being effective, I can’t complain about it so I guess it works just fine. I won’t be repurchasing though, it’s just not my preference in a cleanser.

I take advantage of Sephora’s VIB sales to replenish my “go to” skin care products but because they were sold out of Boscia’s Cleansing Gel (my every-day/go to), I decided to try Youth To The People’s cleanser. I am so glad I did. This is a lovely, effective wash-off, foaming cleanser (my favourite type to feel really clean) that is both thorough and gentle. It has a clean, fresh, slightly herbal scent and leaves my face feeling scrupulously clean but not stripped and dry. The bottle is large and it’s made of heavy glass, which is nice but also leaves me a bit nervous because my bathroom counter is small and I’m a bit afraid of dropping it. The pump is nice too, though it took me ages to get it to “unlock”. I can easily see this becoming my new “go to” cleanser; cost-wise, it’s a somewhat better value ($45 for 8 ounces for YTTP vs $37 for 5 ounces of Boscia, though I find I have to use more of the YTTP) and the 20% VIB sale discount makes it even more attractive.
June (almost July) 2019 – I just repurchased a backup of this cleanser in the PRIDE packaging (a portion of the sales go to LGBTQ causes) because I really like it so much!

I love this cleanser. My skin is naturally on the drier side, so I’ve been sticking with milky, gentle cleansers, but I miss having a fresh clean feel after washing. I wanted something that would cleanse my skin thoroughly, and give me that nice freshly clean feeling, but without stripping away moisture, and also leave my skin smooth. It’s a lot to ask, I know, but this cleanser does it all. It has a very fresh ‘veggie’ type smell (it’s made with kale, spinach, green tea and vitamins, so no wonder), and rinses off clean. My skin is so smooth afterward and doesn’t feel even remotely dry. It’s not cheap ($45 CAD at Sephora), but I expect this bottle will last me through spring and likely most of summer. I like to remove makeup with an oil cleanser or balm, and then I use this cleanser. I’ll definitely repurchase because this is the best cleanser I’ve ever used so far (and I’ve tried many!).
