I don’t know if ‘brightening’ best describes this. Lightening would be more fitting and it does a pretty good job of it too! I used the previous version of this (EX) which was great at keeping my skin clean but not dried out due to its unique PH. This one is similar but definitely stronger in the lightening department than its predecessor. Not too sure whether I’m liking the effect, I prefer a luminous glow over a melanin-less complexion any day. The deal breaker here though is the texture…it leaves an oily film of product on my skin which is kinda gross. Looks like a mixture of chalk and oil. The first time I used it this didn’t bother me much as I used a cotton pad and toner to remove it, but I don’t always have the time to do that. I appreciate it doesn’t dry my skin out and keeps it moist but by the time I’ve tried to remove it with cotton (which isn’t the easiest of tasks) my face has lost whatever hydrating benefit there was. Verdict; good at what it does but not a repeat purchase for me.

I love constantly trying out new stuff – usually sample sizes via e-bay, also plenty courtesy of a friend who works at Sephora)
