I’m nearly at the end of my first bottle of this and think, overall, that it’s an adequate but not amazing cleansing oil.
Pros:
– Gets rid of most makeup, although struggles with my super waterproof Japanese mascara.
– I quite like the smell, personally.
– Didn’t react badly with my oily/combo skin.
– Good packaging.
– Lasts quite a long time. You get a good amount of product for your money.
Cons:
– Fairly messy to rinse off, even for a cleansing oil. I always ended up with it running down my arms and elbows.
– The fragrance is quite strong.
– Felt like it left a slight residue on my skin so I would say this definitely needs to be part of a two-step cleanse process rather than used as a single cleanser.
I prefer the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm or the Shu Uemura cleansing oils personally, but I can’t always justify spending £20+ on a single cleanser and for those times I feel that the L’Oreal oil is a fair alternative. I would buy it again.

I’m very disappointed with this product as I’m usually quite happy with L’Oreal. The biggest problem for me is that it does not make the skin feel refreshed and clean at all. I actually noticed that my complexion looks much worse since I’ve been using it. I’ve used pretty much the whole bottle now and really can’t wait for it to be completely gone. I will definitely not be buying it again.

I bought this cleansing oil thinking that it would be a much cheaper, readily available alternative to my beloved DHC. It’s ok, but I would not repurchase. It did not remove my makeup especially my eye makeup, very well at all. I always had to follow up with another cleanser for that as well as the oily residue it left on my skin after rinsing. It does not rinse clean. The only positives are the price and that you can find it at the drugstore.

I had a sample size of the DHC Cleansing Oil and was devastated when it ran out as it was the first cleansing oil I’d ever tried and I noticed the difference in how great my skin looked and felt after 2/3 times of using!
The DHC oil is pretty hard to get hold of near me unless I purchase online and tbh the price was pretty unappealing so thought I’d see if I could pick up a drugstore version that worked just as good!
I came across the L’Oreal Skin Perfection Cleansing Oil and thought I’d give it ago as the price was great (around £8 if I remember right), the smell was great and I’d read some pretty awesome reviews!
I’ve been using this quite consistently for around 5/6 weeks now and I think I’m going to pay out for the DHC oil when this one runs up!
Don’t get me wrong it cleanses brilliantly, it emulsifies every scrap of make up I have on in seconds and the smell is beautiful but this oil seems to be so heavy and it takes forever to rinse off. It almost lathers up, and I don’t mean the milky liquid I know that’s what oils do, but this is like a thick oil and sometimes I wipe my face down with a towel still unsure as to whether I even rinsed it all off!
It’s a good drugstore buy but I definitley wouldn’t recommend this to a friend with sensitive skin. The smell is seriously strong and I could imagine this really irritating someone’s skin and/or eyes!
Overall I’m glad I purchased it and tried it out, for the price I think it’s a really good buy but I think for now I would rather splash out and get the DHC oil!

I started using this after my boscia cleansing oil ran out. It works great for being a drugstore cleansing oil. It smells good, lathers great & gets rid of any traces of makeup. I highly recommend. I will be repurchasing.

Broke me out and made my face sting like crazy, even after making sure that i had washed it off properly.

This horrible product broke out my acne prone skin as it is basically mineral oil and perfume (not the mention the very intense, cheap, melon-like scent)! I do not recommend it.

I have been using this product for a few months now.
It definately lasts a long time cause there is still plenty in the bottle.
I have always had oily skin but recently my face starting looking dry, dull and lifeless so I thought I would try a cleansing oil.
After using it, I am finding my skin looks more soft and refreshed but I do suggest double cleansing every other day or so…the face can start to look a bit oily after continued use.
This product is not a miracle worker, and I doubt it will result in model looking skin (unless thats in you genes)…but its good to have around especially in the winter and as long as its paired with another gentler cleanser (I use St.Ives Apricot face wash), the “oily” look/buildup will be minimal.

I’ve been using plain mineral oil (and now with polysorbate 80 added) for a while now. My skin is much happier. In the end I felt tjat this oil was slightly clogging for me. I also prefer using a pre cleanse that’s fragrance free. The mineral oil is also a lot cheaper. I can’t see me going back to this, but I have got my sister into this, and she loves it. Her skin is less sensitive than mine. I’ve changed my ratings to now reflect my feelings on this oil.
I’ve been using this as a first cleanse. I use about 4-5 pumps on dry skin, and either remove with a warm flannel or just rinse off. I know mineral oil doesn’t upset my skin and this has worked nicely to remove sunscreen and make up etc. It’s nice it’s actually something that’s easily available in the UK. I don’t need to order it on line etc… and it’s often on offer/discounted in the shops.
I’ve nearly finished my first bottle and will repurchase. I like the scent (to me it’s an apricot type of smell) but whilst my skin is sensitive, it isn’t sensitive to fragrance usually, and doesn’t seem to be here.
My only complaint is the packaging. I find the pump a bit awkward to use/a bit irritating and the shape of the bottle trickier to hold in your hands. A sturdier bottle shape and a regular type of pump dispenser would be easier to use. Especially if you already have oily hands and need an extra pump for example, ro remove stubborn mascara etc…. But all in all I’m happy with this.

I have been on a constant perfect make up remover/cleanser search for the last 10 years! I have a very oily but sensitive skin now (thanks murad!!). The best I have found so far has been clinique’s take the day off balm but at £21.00 I just can’t always afford it!. So I decided to have a good look around my favourite store boots! And found this on offer for £4.00! Read the ingredients saw that mineral oil was there and just thought ah well only £4 down the drain if it’s no good!. Well after 3 months of using this every night and a bare minerals cleanser afterwards or just the l’oreal Micellar most nights, I’ve realised this is amazing!!, I do actually like the fragrance and yes it does make your eyes a little blurry briefly but it takes all my three coats of waterproof mascara off with no traces of mascara or makeup on a pad when toning.
I use three pumps and I love the slip of this oil, I apply to dry skin and save the mascara removal for last, then I apply water massage into a milky texture and rinse off!. This has not caused any redness or burning and I haven’t had any breakout issues which was my worry with the mineral oil. I really really recommend this oil and I will keep buying something that I have never done with any other cleanser!!.
