This balm and the melting gel cleanser are the perfect combo to travel with. Really, if you only have the room for one, choose this. It won’t leak and it breaks down everything. I brought this with me on a two week trip to England, and for those who don’t know ( I didn’t!) hotels in the UK do not normally provide you with washcloths. This balm rinses really well without one.
It’s thick, a little goes a long way, and it works great with other cleansers or used twice in a row for a double cleanse. It never irritates my eyes or makes them filmy when I accidentally don’t close my eyes fast enough while rinsing.
There is a fragrance, but not as strong as others in this line. I am normally really out off by scents, but this does not bother me or irritate my asthma. Very sensitive skin could get cranky.

I bought the Clinique Take The Day Off a few months ago and really liked it, but I was hoping to find a drugstore alternative. I got the No7 balm, just to see if it was comparable. The Clinique product is a balm (the consistency reminds me of a soft bar of soap that washes away beautifully). The No7 product is more like a cream than a balm. The color and texture of it reminded me of shortening, which I found a bit off-putting. The product works fine, but I often find I still have a bit of mascara on my lashes, even if I follow it with a cleanser to wash this product off. This is just an ok product for me. I really don’t think I’d buy it again.

I have been searching for a cold cream/ makeup remover balm after pond’s cold cream was a complete disaster for my skin. I found this balm while I was wandering around Ulta about 2 weeks ago. I really wanted to make sure it agreed with my skin before I wrote a review on it. So far…I friggin love it!! I haven’t broken out from using it, and it gets every last trace of my makeup, even my WP mascara. It doesn’t sting my eyes, even though everything usually does. It pulled out trapped oil, dirt, and old makeup I didn’t even know was hiding in my pores! It left my skin feeling so clean and soft. The container is huge and it was around $9, definitely a great deal. I will definitely repurchase and highly recommend.

This cleansing balm comes in a tub like Clinique Take the Day Off only this is about 1/3 the price. It contains vitamins A & E, coconut oil and grape seed oil and quickly breaks down makeup for easy removal. I was surprised to see this came with a muslin cloth which is actually really handy for removing the balm/makeup from your skin. I’m not sure why on the directions it says to avoid contact with eyes but I never did like the feeling of cleansing balms on my eyes anyway. Also, I use tubing mascara so I only need warm water to remove it. And a quick swipe of micellar water on a cotton pad takes care of any eyeshadow I have on. Will I repurchase? Heck yeah! This was $14 CAD and there is a generous amount in the tub.
