I love cleansing powders and I really like Farmacy as a brand which had me hunting down this product to test out, assuming I would love it and jump to purchase it. Well, first of all you can’t find it anywhere – out of stock online at Sephora, not in store either, until a recent trip across the border where I spotted one bottle in Sephora. I asked the SA if there were any in the back, she tells me no, in fact they are supposed to pull it from the shelf. WHAT?!??!! It says “NEW” on the website. I figured she was confused because she also offered to dump what was left in the tester bottle into a sample bag for me which of course I happily accepted. It was a generous amount so I’ve been able to give it a thorough testing with multiple uses. As it turns out, it’s not what I was hoping for. There are little exfoliating grains in it that are fine, but I’d just as soon not have them there, you can see them in the sink as well as sticking into the konjac sponge I use to help rinse the product from my face after cleansing. The powder foams up and feels silky on the skin and the cost of this product is way less than Tatcha’s Rice Enzyme cleanser/exfoliator but also less enjoyable. I’m rating this as good because it is, even though it’s not one I’d seek out to purchase now that I’ve tested probably 1/3 of a bottle’s worth.

this could have been a very nice product, but the exfoliating grains are chunks of what look like strawberry seeds to me. They’re so big they do zilch in terms of exfoliation – they just scrape across your face and do nothing, really. However, the “base” that those whomping big scrubby chunks are in is a very nice cleanser – it’s a powder that you wet down and it immediately starts to foam up. It cleans nicely without stripping, and seems to rinse away easily. If there was a way to sift out the scrubby things from it and just leave the powder, they’d have a hit on their hands. But as it is, I won’t repurchase as long as it’s formulated the way it is. The packaging is a bit annoying; I have a smaller travel/trial size and I don’t know if the full size packaging is the same, but what I have has a screw on lid with a plastic shaker with a plug in it. You pull the plug to shake out the product, which can be a bit dicey if you forget to do so with dry hands. It would travel quite well this way, but it is a bit of an annoyance. If that were the only drawback to it, I would repurchase, but they need to ditch the chunky scrubby whatevers that are in this and replace it with something much finer, or leave it out altogether. Then they’d have a winner, imho.
