TO ALL USERS, IT IS BEING DISCONTINUED.
This is basically the only cleanser I use for my face as I have acne prone/combination skin. For years I have been looking for the right cleanser. It isn’t perfect but it doesn’t break me out or dries out my face. I went to several shops and I find out it is being discontinued. You kidding me?? I emailed the company. I need people to email them and say they demand it back. Please Help.

Worth the money! This product lasts for ages and removes all traces of make up. I have very sensitive skin, and BareMinerals products always work beautifully on it! Would highly recommend this and have already repurchased!

Great cleansing oil, absolutely comparable to MAC or Shiseido. Removes makeup thoroughly but gently, doesn´t sting my eyes or make them cloudy, doesn´t have a detectable scent (at least to me?!) and rinses off easily and leaves skin feeling clean. Would buy again!

update aug 12 2015: UH OH!
broke me out big time! what a waste of money.
Best thing to remove makeup hands down.a lot better than wipes which made my skin dry, sensibio h2o which made me breakout more, and other cleansing oils out there. Calms skin down and removes makeup up with just one massage. Omg I’m in love. Didn’t break me out which is the best thing about it.I didn’t know bare minerals has such great products! I hate paulaschoice for the reviews that are so unfair and untrue. Never listen to her. If you feel you might love a product, don’t listen or go to her website, just try a product yourself. Lesson is, if you’ll never try then you’ll never know.

Okay, so I am a fan of oil. I find that washing and moisturizing my face with oil has really helped my (naturally pretty oily) skin to heal and just have a better tone and texture. I have NOT been a big fan of oils packaged to be used to cleanse/moisturize the skin just because I tend to assume they’re less natural than just using a pure oil (generally packaged to be used for cooking). Being cautious of Bare Escentuals after my HORRIBLE experience with their foundation/makeup (reeeally broke me out, you can go check out my review) I did my research and it seemed like the products in this line were natural enough for me to be okay trying them.
This cleanser is a good…cleanser! I mean that sounds stupid but let me explain—prior to this I was using coconut oil to wash my face and while that really helps my skin but it’s too much of a hassle (and probably an overload for my skin) to use this 2-3 times per day. Going from an oil cleanser that does many things to help my skin to this oil was ‘a step down.’ While I say it was a ‘step down’ I think it was a necessary step because I believe that this cleanser is 1) easier to use/more convenient and 2) I also believe that this cleanser is easier on my skin (less heavy and intensive).
My main point that this won’t perform any kind of miracles, but it’s not really supposed to. This cleanser is supposed to cleanse and lightly nourish the skin and that’s what it does. As far as application goes I wash my hands, and the dampen my face. After I dry my hands, I place 5 drops in my hands and rub them together for a few seconds to warm up the oil. I then I rub (not scrubbing but firmly rubbing) the oil onto my damp face for about a minute. Then I rinse it off with two or three splashes of water. Very easy and quick and it smells GREAT—like lemongrass.
When I got this I purchased it in their trial-pack of all three of their Mineralixirs products (Oil Cleanser, 5-Oil Blend, and Eye Nourishing Oil Balm) and I would not suggest buying these products any other way. Yes the sizes are small/travel sized but not only is this actually a plus (I often just stick the cleanser and the oil into a VERY small makeup brush bag to take to the gym for after my run, super convenient not to have large bottles or anything else to bring) but the starter pack is $30….the full-sized cleanser is $30 (oh my god..), the full-sized oil blend is $50 (OH MY F*ING GOD), and the eye balm is $38 (ughhh noooooo thank you). Since they’re oil products they last for a long time, since you only use drops at a time, even though the size is smaller so getting all three products for $30 is SUCH a steal even if the size is less (this would only be a problem for you if you share face products with your household so more gets used up in shorter periods of time).

A fantastic makeup remover & cleanser! Anyone who knows me in person or on mua knows my dear love for DHC Deep cleaning oil. I have been using DHC oil for at least 10 years and nothing compares… until now. I have been waiting for a cleansing oil similar to DHC to make it to stores because it is so annoying having to order DHC online. This cleanser is wonderful. Unlike another reviewer below me, I do not dare to use 4-6 pumps. I don’t even need a full pump of this cleanser to remove my makeup. From my pics, you can see I wear moisturizer, foundation, concealer, powder, blush, highlighter… you name it! And 1 pump is sufficient to remove all of that. On occasion I do a 2nd cleanse with this if I am giving myself an at home facial & want an extra deep clean. I apply this like I do DHC oil. (sorry to drop that name so much but I want to state why I am willing to change brands and to compare the two for anyone wondering) .. I use 1 pump on DRY skin. I massage it all over, the longer the better! I rinse it off. It rinses clean the very first time, no need for a toner, or a second cleanse.. No need to use a lot of product & try to make it foam. In fact, to get it to foam, you would probably need a lot of product. This oil doesn’t foam at all with me. As the bottle’s pamplet states, it turns into a milky clear substance (more on the watery side vs milky imo!) & rinses clean. The instructions also did not mention the need for anything other than a small amount. The smell reminds me of rosemary oil or something in that family. The ingredient list says it contains Safflower seed oil, & Rosa canina fruit oil. DHC uses olive oil. I am 29 and I have sensitive, combination, acne prone skin. As I get older I have to be very careful what I use on my face, I get malassezia folliculitis through out the year from taking years of antibiotics/steroids for sinus problems. I cannot play with skinare anymore, and I this product has been a dream for my sensitive skin. If I don’t use a cleansing oil to remove my makeup then I get cystic acne. This one has been equally as good at preventing acne as DHC’s. The packaging is great imo, no lid, however, it lets you turn the pump counterclockwise to lock the bottle so it can’t squirt out. This oil feels a little thinner than DHC, but not as thin & runny as MAC’s oil, for reference. it easily glides around the skin, and rinses off completely clean. This does not dry me out, does not clog my pores, or cause blackheads.. if anything it helps all of those things. I love that it is from a brand offered in so many stores, and that it will probably go on sale at places like qvc where they sell bare escentuals. You will probably be able to get this in a BE kit in the future, which would help with cost. $30 is an acceptable price in my opinion because this should last you at least a good 5 months judging on how much I have used & have left. I have been using this for about 45 days, so I know my review is well thought out & accurate in product performance. I believe all skintypes could use this oil. If you have extra dry skin, you will want to stick to cleansing oils that you tissue off or the ones that leave a moisturizing film behind. The only possibly negative thing I could say about this oil is- I believe it is the culprit for my eyes being more sensitive the past month. I have an old HG favorite (avon moisture effective cream eye mu remover) I have been using for years to take my eye makuep off, then I go over my face with this. When I use this around my eyes I notice my eyes to be more sensitive through out the day (mainly watery) if I avoid the eye area I have no problem. BE’s website says to revitalize your eye delicate eye area with this cleanser, but that features of this cleanser is not for me. I am going to finish the bottle the rest of this year & will probably re purchase this over my beloved classic DHC oil. I also considered clinique take the day off balm before purchasing this cleanser, but chose this one based on its stellar reviews online (off mua). I couldn’t be happier with this cleanser. *Please do not be afraid to try it if you have acne prone skin. To compare the oils one last time, this product is $30 for 6oz, DHC deep cleansing is $28 for 6.7 oz. Cleansing oils are worth every penny, this one is no exception! I think DHC oil is a twinge better for sensitive skin & it causes me no irritation to my eye area. I will probably repurchase the BE Mineralixir cleansing oil due to it being readily available. Hope this helps!

I’m an employee at bareMinerals with pretty oily skin and I LOVE this cleanser. I always knew it made sense that oil broke down oil so I knew I would love this. The packaging is gorgeous and the oil smells amazing! It takes all my makeup off and leaves my skin soft and glowing!!!! $30 is pricey for a cleanser but you need to keep in mind that we extract the oil from the Andes mountains in chile! Very high quality ingredients go into it! My skin has never been so soft and radiant:)
