This is a fantastic cleanser for oily/combination skin that’s also on the sensitive side. It’s basically 100 percent clay, so it really sucks all the crud out of your pores. At the same time, it won’t strip your skin of all moisture. This cleanser has the consistency of a clay-based face mask, and you apply it as such: spread it on dry skin, work it in for a little bit, and rinse it off. Though this is called a “clay-to-cream” cleanser, it definitely doesn’t lather like soap. It gets a little runnier and more slippery when you add water to it, but it doesn’t really foam up. Some may or may not find that annoying; I don’t mind because I like to put this on when I get in the shower, let it sit for at least a few minutes, and then rinse it off. And while this is a clay-based cleanser, it leaves my skin feeling soft, not tight or parched. The packaging says this cleanser “soothes redness-prone skin,” and I do find that to be true. I’ve definitely seen more evenness in my skin tone since I’ve started using this. It also shrinks pores and reduces texture. Overall, this is a gentle but very effective face wash for oily and/or combination skin with redness and/or texture.

I’ve only been using this as my morning cleanser as it seems like a gentle cleanser. It is thick and only slightly creamy when mixed with water. I like to apply a good amount in the morning on dry skin, then wet my hands a bit and massage my face to make the consistency more slippery. It washes off well, though it can get messy. The packaging is good if you’re traveling, but might be a hassle when you’re nearing the last amount of product.
Overall, a decent clay cleanser with good ingredients, but not necessarily a holy grail item.
