Burns face and eyes, especially around the eyes. Had to use 2 wipes completely edge to edge to remove a full face of makeup, mascara and blush. Have only used Neutrogena in past but never had anything actually burn my face.

My skin was burning after using CeraVe makeup wipes. I discontinued use. So disappointed by a good brand.

Instant burning as soon as I used it. And it wasn’t washing off. I had the exact same experience with the Micellar water. I LOVE CeraVe moisturizer, lotion and ointment. But the makeup removing cloths and Micellar water are HORRIBLE. Stinging and burning like I have never felt before And do NOT use to remove eye makeup.

These are totally lame. The fact that they are specifically labeled as “makeup removing” & “gentle” makes them even more offensive to me. They barely do anything, I have to wet them and tug at my face to get anything off. Even worse they sting my eyes! That is really bad that Cerave labels them to look like their hydrating cleanser which I use daily (not to remove makeup, for that I use bioderma makeup remover) anyways the hydrating cleanser is so soft and gentle on the skin unlike these wipes. Makeup removal Fail. For reference I wear diorshow mascara that is not waterproof and I believe not especially difficult to remove.

I tried these because I was looking for a cheaper alternative to MAC wipes. CeraVe touts itself as a sensitive skin brand, but this is the second time I’ve had the opposite experience with a CeraVe product. The Eye Repair Cream burned and so do these wipes! I would rather spend a little more and save myself the irritation. Will never buy these again.

I love most CeraVe products, so I bought these makeup remover wipes without hesitation. Such disappointment. It does a miserable job of removing regular, non-waterproof mascara and leaves behind traces of makeup that show up the washcloth when I fully cleanse my face. Not only that, it makes my cheek area burn! I relegated them to wiping off swatches and makeup from my hands, but then just the other day (which prompted me to write this review) I tried on a couple new lipsticks and I used one to just wipe it off my lips and my lips went numb! No plumping lip gloss ever gave me this kind of feeling of terror and “what the hell did I just do?”. The numbness went away after about five minutes and doesn’t seem to have any lasting affects. However, I have cut open the package and let the towelettes dry out and the material makes for a good dust cloth. That’s the only reason it gets even one lippie. I might add that while my skin is combo/dry right now, I generally don’t have sensitivity, especially to facial or makeup wipes.

My go-to wipes are Neutrogena in the blue pack. However I saw good review for the Cerave ones on Beautypedia and thought I’d try them even though they are more expensive.
I wasn’t impressed. They do just an okay job of removing sunscreen, foundation and eye makeup….not as good at removing mascara. Plus I felt like they left a film on my skin. I felt I had to rinse with water or go over my face with a wet cotton pad.
In the two weeks since I started using I have noticed whitehead-like break outs plus a couple cystic pimples. This is unusual for me. I am chucking these and going back to Neutrogena.
This may be TMI but I figured I’d get some use out of them and put in bathroom to use as bum wipes. The feedback I received is that they sting….LOL. Good for nothing g-d wipes.

I actually like these wipes and was surprised since the even the fragrance-free Neutrogena wipes irritated my skin. I’ve been using these to help break-up sunscreen and makeup before I use my RX Sulfacleanse wash. My skin is left very soft and clean but not dry or irritated. I do use it to remove eye makeup as well and it doesn’t bother my eyes as long as I rinse them thoroughly afterwards.
I’ve also been having my 12 year old son use them at night when he’s too tired to wash his face. He has very sensitive skin like I do and these don’t bother him either.
I do agree that the wipes should be wetter because sometimes I have to use 2. And I wish they came in a plastic box like Neutrogena’s so they wouldn’t dry out as quickly. But otherwise this is a solid product that does what it claims without unnecessary fragrance or irritation.
Now, is this as good as my beloved Clinique TTDO balm? No, not quite. With the balm, I apply a small amount to dry skin and massage lightly then everything rinses clean. Plus the packaging is great for travel. I find the balm slightly less irritating only because I have to scrub a bit with the wipes which can bother my rosacea. Not to mention the wipes being unnecessary waste. So while these work in a pinch, I will still remain loyal to my HG.

I don’t understand the really low reviews. I found these wipes to take off all my makep and that’s eye makeup too. the reality is that mascara has to be washed off to get it all off, so don’t knock them for that. I did find them kinda dry as well, but only about the first three the rest were fine. I also found the exfoliating texture kept my skin smooth and blemish free.

After the very positive review on Beautypedia and having trouble finding these, when I finally saw them I bought 2 packages outright. I could have contained my joy. They’re not that great.
First off I find them too dry. They need more cleansing lotion on them. They are mostly kind to the skin but I find I have to wipe rather hard around the eye area and they do not remove my regular mascara and eyeliner. I have to go back and use another cleanser there. I have not had any breakouts and even though I have to wipe rather hard, have not had any rosacea flares using these. No scent.
I don’t feel confident enough with these to not follow up with another cleanser because first night i used my BHA toner after just the wipe and I found foundation left.
They are pricier than most wipes but I like the way the packaging works. They close tight. But I won’t repurchse. I’m going to give my unopened package to the girl scouts for spring showers
