While this product smells lovely and glides on to the skin nicely too (oh an I like the new packaging!) it certainly goes above and beyond to ‘cleanse’. It certainly leaves your skin feeling ‘squeaky clean’ – you’ll defiantly need to moisturise after using this, however I do think there are cleaners out there that do a better job of removing grime and traces of makeup. I’ve been using the product for a week and not sure what to make of the ‘brightening effects’ – average? I guess my skin looks a little less dull!

I absolutely love this product and it is the first face product I have ever used which has not only not reacted badly, but also improved my very problematic skin. Prior to using this cleanser I had EXTREMELY oily skin and flaking dry skin in some areas on my face too, painful cystic acne and pimples. I had tried all the face washes promoted my celebrities as well but nothing worked. After many many years of being unhappy with my skin’s health I got this product as a sample from a MAC store first as the price in New Zealand is $58 . . . it sounded a little crazy.
So right from the first use I felt very Illuminated. As if a soft light was hitting my face and this lasted for many hours after washing my face. It always looks like my face is freshly washed even after hours of washing my face which was never the case before. Only after 3 days of washing my face with this my oil was totally under control and the existing painful break outs I had slowly got soft and stopped hurting. You only need a pea sized (for real with this products as it foams well) and so the sample lasted me 4-5 days. I went back and purchased it. Now it has been about 3 months and I am one third of the way down the tube so it will last well upto 9-10 months for $58 so it is really a good deal at the end of the day. My acne is gone and my oil is under control and the dry areas are moisturised too now.
When it comes to removing make up I first use a baby wipe to remove excess foundation then go ahead with this cleanser with warm water and it removed every little bit of my make up. It has a light and pleasant fragrance too. The packaging looks really nice with a stripped shiny silver and white. It is classy and an over all holy grail product for me.
I would definitely repurchase and this is one product I see myself sticking with for the rest of my life really.

This is definitely a good cleanser. I use this for years. The packaging now should be in white. I love this cleanser, it cleanse up very well after I remove my heavy makeup. It leave my face feeling fresh, not oily, and looks brighter. It’s a must have for me. I always buy a lot to stock up. Definitely recommend!

The beautiful pearlescent pale blue packaging drew me to MAC’s Lightful line of products. I was in need of a cleanser and this smelled nice, so I figured I’d give it a try. It’s just okay. It cleans alright but you have to be careful not to get it in your eyes or it’ll sting. It also dries out my skin. I feel like this cleanser is a milder version of Shiseido’s Pureness Deep Cleansing Foam (which I don’t like).

This is a great all-round cleanser for those with normal skin. It foams up beautifully and smells very light and fresh. It does a decent job of removing face makeup as well (if you use toner with a cotton pad you’ll notice a tiny bit of makeup and dirt left behind). It also doesn’t dry out your skin. On the down side, it did nothing to help with my mild acne as I continued to have small breakouts. My acne, however, did not get worse while using this cleanser. It’s also fairly expensive, although the quality does seem very good. I had high hopes for this cleanser but it fell a little short. Too bad.

If you have dry skin, don’t bother with this one.
I had really high hopes for this, which may explain why I just can’t give it a three lipstick rating.
While it wasn’t amazing, it wasn’t horrible either.
Surprisingly, a very little makes a huge lather, so the bottle should easily last me to the end of the year (since i rotate it out).
But it brings up the question as to why it lathers so well. Organic cleansers don’t because they have natural ingredients, and I wonder just how much chemicals are really in this?
Well, it smells decently, and it cleans well. But it gives me a result that is slightly less harsh than Neutrogena’s orange tubed bottle cleanser (which makes it a tad better than that one, but the price tag is 3x as much). Your skin is not super tight, but it’s definitely not moisturized. I would follow up with a moisturizer(perhaps, from this line?), because since I didn’t, a few hours later, my skin was slightly oily from the light stripping.
Long story short, it’s not worth the full price tag (unless you don’t like organic cleansers, this is your best bet), but I will find a good use for it in the meantime for after workouts or long sumer days.

This line and cleanser is amazing! Honestly I can’t believe I almost skipped on ever trying Mac Skincare, as it really never impressed me and always jsut assumed it was full of chemicals and not a quality range considering they sell most on their makeup end. I am as obsessed with skincare as I am with makeup so have spent more money than I would like to admit trying about every cleanser and moisturizer from every high end line to drugstore in my teens to even organic lines. For years I have found decent products but they always stop working over time and I continue the trial and error. I have normal and even toned but super clog/breakotu prone skin so knowing ingredients is a msut for me as if I use the wrong one my skin goes crazy even though it isn’t sensitive or dry. Oddly I have found no matter what cleanser I use it eventually dehydrates my skin overtime leaving my feeling rough or leaves a film and doesn’t deep clean enoug (most creams I have tried). I was randomly at Mac bying brushes and really annoyed I couldn’t find a good cleanser and decided to give this one a try as it smells nice and all your reviewers said it doesn’t dry out. Well a week alter I couldn’t we happier. The tiniest amoutn gives the creamiset richest lather that is so luxurious and the product jsut smells to die for and reminds me of spa treatments. At the same time this is the only of it’s type foaming creme cleanser that lathers in a natural way and doesn’t foam like crazy leaving your skin feeling tight or dry due to all the detergents making it foam up. My skin feels flawless and so balanced after using this, really baffles me as Mac is ownded my Estee Lauder yet all teh cleanser I have tried from them are crap and dry you out like crazy. Love the tube as well plus amazing ingredient list shockingly. Yes it is somewhat pricey but for how little you need for the richest lather this tube will last forever plus love that it isn’t huge and prefect for travel. This is the first time in years I have been so in lvoe with a cleanser and will actually be using it not only at night after my Mac Cleanse Off Oil but as my morning cleanser as well. Perfection and hope they never discontinue this lightful line as this and the lightful moisturizer are amazing and better quality than products I’ve spent 3x as much on! 🙂

I love this face wash. I have extremly dry skin. My skin flakes because my face is so dry. And this product is amazing. It has the freshest smell ever. And it goes on like butter, so smooth. And my skin feel plain clean when im done. I think its pricey though but i would still def repurchase.

My local MAC MA suggest me this cleanser and gave me a sample to try out. For some reason i love this cleanser so much. A little goes a long way. It cleanse all makeup w/o leaving any trace or residue. I’m impressed! Currently i used Simple cleanser and usually i have to wash my face twice to make sure my skin really clean. I hate using makeup remover/cleanse oil, so i need something fast to clean my face and this cleanser did an excellent job for my face. And i have sensitive skin and most foaming cleanser makes my skin very dry. But this one really great..very foamy but didn’t dries out my skin and leaves my skin soft and clean..i love it. The only con is – too expensive for a tube of cleanser. But definitely worth to tried it

This is the best facial cleanser that I’ve ever used. Really worth the steep price of S$43. I got this as a sample during one of the M.A.C. makeovers last year and the small tube of 10ml (or so?) lasted me for like 2 months! Like what the adage says “a little goes a long way”. Hence feeling very satisfied with the sample, I decided to give it a try and now I’m still using my first tube after the purchase (last year Feb). The cleanser “melts away” upon contact with water. In short, my skin feels soft, smooth and thoroughly clean just by using a small dot, not to mention that my complexion brightened up a little too. I really hope that M.A.C. does not discontinue this wonderful product.
