I think they changed their formula. The scent is not as strong although I love the original scent which wasn’t super strong to begin with. Then, it is also less foamy. This is my go-to makeup remover/cleanser but now I have to do a double wash. It is much gentler on my skin with this new formulation.

I do not really like the scent or the texture of this product. For something that is supposed to be natural, I cannot recognize a darn thing on the label and the scent is utterly over-fragranced. This product needs to be applied to damp skin and does not spread easily otherwise. I would not recommend this product.

What does it does…
*brightening effect ~I dont really know the different between brightening-lighting-whitening, but i does make your skin tone more clear ^^
*I do not know if this really suitable for the acne prone skin, but for sensitive skin like me it did a good job to cleaned up oil and dirt without making irritation ~ i am not a person who usually use makeup / foundation everyday, so i dont know it cleans well the heavy mske up or not~
*Feels soft after cleansing the face, but i think the others skincare (lotion, essrnce, cream) affect too because i felt different after washing face when change my toner/essence
*What i really like to buy it again is the bright effect on face ~ remember it depends on your other skincares too ^^

I’ve used the Juara Candlenut body cream and loved it. I had been putting off trying the Rice Face cleanser and now I’m sold. It’s not drying or stripping and afterwards my skin feels so soft. I recommend getting it thru Skinstores 20% off sales. Regular price for this is around $25.00 for 4.75oz. Just a small amount ( highly concentrated ) will last for a long time. A++

I like this cleanser because I needed something good for my acne-prone skin that would remove my Dior Forever waterproof foundation. I don’t like the oil cleansers out there, so being that this is a creamy cleanser makes it perfect. This removes my foundation completely after just one cleansing…after I swipe my face with a toner pad there is no trace of makeup left. And I like that I can use this around my eyes safely, it has no effects on my contact lenses. I like the convenience of the pump. I use 2 pumps of product to remove my makeup. My face doesn’t feel squeaky and dry after washing, just nice and soft. Will definitely repurchase.

I really liked this facial cleanser. It had a fresh smell to it — you know nothing too perfumy because I’m sensitive to strong smells. I use this to wash my fash or to remove make-up and it works quite nicely. It definitely gets the job done.

I am writing this review based on samples that I recieved from Michael at Juara skincare. Someone had mentioned this on the boards so I decided to contact the company and see if I could test drive some samples. Juara is a botanicals based skincare company “inspired by Indonesian botanicals” FIRST the customer service is bar-none the greatest of any company so far. Better than CS for products like Kate Somerville or Liz Earle, and other high end brand names. I got emails personally from Michael who went through my skincare needs, for me and my teenage son and then made recommendations based on our conversations. He was more than happy to send me whatever I wanted. I got 2 of each product and the samples themselves are BIG. This review however is for the RICE FACIAL CLEANSER. The cleanser is milky white and soft. It lathers up a bit, but unlike other foaming cleansers, it cleans without stripping. I have been using cleansing oils for a few months because my skin has been overprocessed with BHA/AHA products. I have been using this for a few days and my skin feels soft and smooth after cleansing and I don’t have to rush and put on my moisturizer afterward like with other foaming cleansers. The smell is divine too by the way. All these products smell good, but not perfume-ey, just really natural. It really is just a treat for the senses. It smells good, it feels good, it cleans and softens. The description on the sample package:
“A gentle rinse-off cleanser that softens the skin with rice starch, clinically proven to soothe and soften. Rich in natural amino acids, this cleanser evokes the traditional ritual of an indonesian rice water rinse. Effectively removes makeup without stripping skin”
I found that this removed every stitch of makeup and really did soften my skin. My skin is usually very sensitive and reacts to everything. This has just improved the tone and clarity of my skin with no irritation. Michael also recommended this for my son, who has acne. I would recommend anyone who wants to try this and the other products in the line go to juaraskincare.com and email Michael. He is super nice and helpful and GENEROUS with the samples. When my samples run out, I will be purchasing this cleanser again.

I recently tried a sample of this cleanser. It cleans well without stripping, but something in it stung my face.

This review is for the Rice Scrub. I was disappointed to realize after I had used it that it is not the “natural” skincare line that I thought. Many of their products have parabens; but worse, this scrub is composed of plastic beads (used in many scrubs). I just don’t think that manufacturing plastic beads and washing them down the drain is very environmental; let alone rubbing them into your face. In addition, the fragrance is strong and the formula was drying enough to cause irritation.

This made my skin very soft and it took off all of my foundation. It has no SLS/SLES, which is a great thing for me. I liked this cleanser for the hot months, but it dried me out in the winter. The other bad thing is that it comes in a small bottle for a high price. This bothered me at first, but luckily, it lasted me about more than three months (use in the morning and night). I still have about a third of the bottle left. I’ll reuse it once it gets warmer here.
