First off, the good things. The packaging its really nice; it’s clear E.L.F. have thought about this product line, achieving a high-end looking range, for lower-end prices. It’s also really easy to work with; much like other cleansers of this type, you take a small amount of product (about the size of a penny), work it into the skin for a few minutes until it starts to visibly break down your makeup, then add a small amount of water to emulsify it, before rinsing it off with more water or using a washcloth. It left my skin feeling really soft and supple, with not a hint of tightness or dryness. However, with the good invariably comes the not-so-good…
The scent will definitely not be to everyone’s taste. It’s a heavy, almost overpowering floral scent, which did make me cautious at first as my hyper-sensitive skin doesn’t usually take kindly to scented products. It’s also not suitable for removing eye makeup in the same way other cleansers of this nature are (e.g. Clinque’s Take The Day Off or The Body Shop’s Camomile Cleansing Butter), meaning I had to use an eye makeup remover or micellar water first. And if I did get this anywhere near my eyes or accidentally in them, it really stung. Lastly, the 1.4oz/40g of product didn’t last very long – about 2 weeks for me, when using it every evening – meaning price-wise, it’s actually not that great. This cost me around £11.00 – which seems a great price initially – but when you consider the TBS Camomile Cleansing Butter is £1 cheaper, lasts twice as long, AND removes eye makeup too, the E.L.F. cleanser doesn’t seem so great anymore and is the reason I won’t be repurchasing.
This is worth a try if you’re on a budget and are curious about how it’ll work for you, but personally I would recommend the TBS Camomile version over this. It’s cheaper, works better and lasts a lot longer too.

This is a relatively stiff gel (bordering on solid) that contains nourishing oils and is meant to be massaged onto dry skin. Once you have worked it in, add a small amount of water to activate this into a milky texture that continues to cleanse your skin. The first time I used this, it didn’t do a great job of breaking down my makeup but I didn’t use very much. I would say you need at least twice as much as Clinique Take the Day Off or The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter to have this work well. It works even better if you use either a silicone scrubbing pad or a cleansing brush to help this remove makeup. I love e.l.f products but for the price, this one falls short for me. You just have to use too much and there isn’t much in the package so it doesn’t last long. If they make a larger tub or reduce the price I would purchase it again. But for now, I won’t be repurchasing anytime soon.

I love this cleanser. But that’s because I’ve found a way to use it that is different than what you’d expect.
The first time that I used this product, I quickly learned that it didn’t break down my makeup quickly and thoroughly. My concern was that I’d have to use a lot of it to get the job done each night. And the process would take too long.
I had several cleansing oils already in my rotation. The first oil broke makeup down quickly but left my combination skin dry and tight. The second oil barely broke the makeup down, but it left my skin hydrated. So I decided to combine these two oils with the elf cleanser to make the perfect makeup remover for my skin.
So on my bathroom vanity, I have a 50/50 mixture of the 2 oils along with the elf cleanser. I start by dotting an amount of the elf cleanser over my face that’s probably equivalent to the size of a quarter. Then I take a couple of pumps of my oil mixture and rub the whole mixture all over my dry face.
The elf cleanser is awesome. It hydrates my face. Furthermore, the gel-like thickness of the cleanser keeps the oil mixture from getting runny and dripping down my arms. And since I only use a small amount of the elf cleanser each night, this solution is affordable!

This oil cleanser pisses me off. I was looking to replace my DHC cleansing oil/Shu uemura cleansing oil/Body Shop chamomile cleansing oil while I reordered, and Seeing it discounted in Marshalls I decided to give it a shot. This didn’t remove my makeup. It did NOT rinse clean. I had to double wash, tone and stick q tips around and IN my eyeballs to clean
up the mess it made. 2 Q TIPS per eyeball came off with black stains AFTER this oily cleanser and a Foaming face wash. I get a better clean with the face wash ALONE.
When I went to rinse I massaged water on my face first and then attempted to rinse. My face felt slick no matter how much I rinsed with water. I passed a damp paper towel around my face and makeup came off on it. UGH!
The only good thing I can say is that it didn’t dry my face out and the packaging is fine. The product itself is a clear, oily, vaseline like gel.
This will only work as a final step cleanser for dry skin after makeup removal since it can’t remove makeup properly.

I found this at Marshalls for $4 so I thought I would try it,
and I like it, not drying makes my face feel really good after washing

I’m not really sure if a lot of the reviewers are realizing this is part of a system with a brush, and I don’t think they were really trying to dupe anyone specifically with their skincare line but just keep up with the Korean trend…
As someone that actually uses the skincare system with the brush… I really like this cleanser. I just wish they would knock a couple of bucks off the price! Because of this, I’m thinking about trying out the oil to foam cleanser when I run out of this, since it looks like you get more for the price with that. However, I must say that I’ve been surprised by how long this has lasted given the amount. You really do not need much on the brush to work up a nice lather and cleanse. I imagine though I would be in a much worse situation if I didn’t have the brush to work up a thicker lather than what I could do with my fingertips.
I have super sensitive skin, and have a long history of having my skin irritated by cleansers. As you can imagine, I have felt like a pampered princess by the Korean trend! This product has not steered me wrong, either. It is as gentle as water. My skin is left feeling well balanced, clean, and fresh, with no residue.
The packaging though is annoying to deal with at the sink. I do hope ELF comes up with something more innovative than the tired old tub design.

The consistency of this cleanser is more of a light cream, not really gel-like at all. It is very runny. However, after I massage a bit onto my dry face and work it in, it does rinse off foundation, mascara, and cream eyeshadow very well, which is what I wear most days. My skin feels smooth and comfortable afterwards. I wish it was packaged in a squeeze-tube instead of the heavy tub. It is expensive for the tiny amount you get, so you’ll go through it fast. Overall it’s good, but not worth it ultimately.

This is not the picture of the daily face cleanser. Its in a tube. It didnt feel to me like it was doing anything. My face felt fine after but it didnt feel really clean. It felt ok but I didnt feel it was clean enough to add hydrating water essence, serum and lotion to my face when I was done. I used it for about a week and ended up breaking out on my cheeks I am pretty sure this is why. The other elf skin care products are pretty good across the board but this one didnt work for me.
