I love the gel cleanser. Gel/oil cleansers are my favorite because my face can be very drying.
BUT this exfoliating stick, is something else. I can’t fully review it because I used it once and the smell was so bad that I just could not bring myself to use it again. I wished better things from this duo. But it disappointed.

The idea is brilliant, I had to try this. But results aren’t great. It dulls my skin and dries it out. The grains feel really scratchy. Not hygienic if you have acne. It gets used up really fast. And no-one seems to mention it smells like wet dog! Really gross.

I like this! It exfoliates really nicely without drying out my skin or leaving it feeling tight. The exfoliating particles are nice and small, but are still really effective enough to make my skin feel soft without irritating it. This has never made my skin react either and it has just the slightest scent to it which is quite fresh and clean in nature. Finally, the packaging is quite unique for this type of product. It’s a twist up tube similar to a lip balm, but much bigger (around the size of a deodorant tube). The only downside is the price; this costs £20 for a 30g tube which is not something I can afford to invest in on a regular basis. As a result this will be a treat item for me, limited to times when I can afford it or ask for it as a birthday/Christmas gift.

First, on the product, it’s amazing. I love that I can apply a scrub in stick form right to my skin. The exfoliant grains are small so they are not that harsh on the skin but still get the job done. I also love that this also works well as a cleanser as it foams up a little.
My problem is the tube. I have had two of these so far and the exfoliator part keeps falling out of the tube. So as I’m applying the product it will pop out of the tube and fall into my sink. It’s quite irritating.

I bought the travel size kit with the cleansing gel, the scrub & frixxxion stick in it and I’ll definitely be buying the stick when I run out. I really like it! The application was super easy, it’s not heavily fragranced & my face feels so soft after. It’s very gentle and you feel sand-like beads when applying it, which I really liked as well. I have oily/combination skin and my face tends to get REALLY dry after cleansing. I was expecting to heavily moisturize after this but to my surprise it didn’t really dry out my face at all. It just left my face feeling super clean and soft. There are mixed reviews on this product but I think it’s a very decent one!

Umm… no. Just no. For reference, I have dry, borderline dehydrated skin that can get pretty flaky, with large sebaceous filaments on my nose and hormonal acne on my chin. My skin is not sensitive, but I do get redness occasionally,
I appreciate the concept of this product, but I think it’s more of a gimmick that anything else and is certainly not worth the price. It’s marketed for use as both an exfoliator and a mask- swipe all over the face and either scrub and rinse immediately, or leave on for 10 minuted before rinsing. I don’t notice a single difference if I leave it on like a mask, so that use is just silly to me. It also suds up a bit upon rinsing, but not enough to act as a cleanser like the item description suggests.
As for the actual scrub part, the particles in this are made of diatomaceous earth- the hard, leftover “shells” of diatoms. These “shells” are made of silica, and are hard and sharp like tiny little glass shards. I don’t know the exact effect this has on the skin, but I can’t help but imagine it makes micro tears and damages your skin on a very small scale. Because there isn’t any information available on this, I’d rather stay away and use products that I know aren’t damaging my skin. Completely aside from that, I just don’t think they do a good job of physically exfoliating the skin. The product feels scrubby when it is on your face, but after rinsing I can still see little, flaky dry patches that weren’t removed. The diatomaceous earth is also REALLY hard to completely rinse off the face, and I find I can feel the little particles when I touch my face for about an hour after I use this.

This is an addoooorrable stick form exfoliator. I got a travel size in a skincare kit. I love the packaging, I love applying it! It’s little physical exfoliators in a charcoal stick. The stick part is very gentle and calming, no real sensation. I’ve tried it as a mask (as they suggest) and was pretty underwhelmed). No smell or sensation.
If you like to have a physical exfoliator this is a great option. Fun and easy to use, easy to get the right amount.

I received a sample of this in my Sephora Play box, and I really like it.
I have dry skin, so I really appreciate that it’s very effective and doesn’t cause any dryness at all. The stick form is handy. I just swipe a few areas of my face, add a few drops of water to my fingertips, and then massage it all in for about 30 seconds. This has very, very extremely fine grit particles that I also really appreciate! My skin looks very radiant and feels very soft after I use this. It also seems to make my skin absorb moisturizing products better too.
I use Tretinoin, and this has helped to get rid of those stubborn peely flakes that like to linger around without causing me any problems. I’ve been using this once every 2 to 3 days in the morning. I use an AHA once every 2 to 3 days at night.
I usually dislike physical scrubs because the particles are too big and rough. I really love this, and I do plan on purchasing the full size-30g/1oz for $22 from the Tarte website-I couldn’t find it in store at my local Ulta or Sephora.

This is a basically a charcoal cleanser and an exfoliator in stick form. It “melts” onto the skin very nicely and does not drag or pull. It is pretty gentle – I feel small exfoliating particles, smaller than my Aveeno Positively Radiant skin brightening daily scrub. It leaves the skin feeling soft and clean. I have not found it drying for me (combo/oily skin). It can be massaged onto the skin and left for a few minutes as a mask.
Overall, it is a good product for what it is. There are cheaper alternatives out there. The stick makes it more convenient and easy to use. It is a bit pricey, but I would buy it again.

First off this is a PHYSICAL exfoliant. Therefore need to be careful in regards to frequency and pressure. I would only use it once a week, twice tops. I find the stick application to be great for travel or use in the shower. Basically dampen face, swipe stick to skin and GENTLY rub. This becomes a nice lather that rinses off easily.
I use a daily AHA exfoliant at night, therefore I would use this AM and only once a week. I feel too frequent use would irritate or injury your skin.
Has not irritated my acne prone skin. Very pleasant scent. Skin is very smooth after use. As for repurchase it’s a strong maybe. I usually use my PMD once a week as a physical exfoliant, this won’t completely replace dermabrasion, but I like it enough to use in the shower and hold of on my PMD session that week.
