After 3 months of use, I’ve decided that it’s just an an average salicylic acid cleanser that has a tendency to dry out my skin. It’s not worth the price tag and I can find something better, more effective, for a fraction of the price. My favorite BHA cleanser for oily skin during the summertime is Alba Botanica Acnedote Deep Pore Wash with 2% SA.

This is an HG cleanser for me. My skin is fairly oily, I think it is key for that skin type. If you are combination or drier, this will be too drying for your skin. For me it works amazingly well. A little goes a long way. A tube of this cleanser will last me months. You only need to use a little bit. It foams up beautifully and leaves my skin feeling clean. I love it so much!

This is a great cleanser from La Roche-Posay for oily/acne prone skin. I can see why this would be drying for some, but if your skin is very oily, this should do the trick. It’s a nice foaming cream cleanser that you only need a small amount of to use. I find a tube of this will last me almost 6 months! If your skin isn’t too oily, you could use the Effaclar gel cleanser instead. I love this one, my skin feels really clean after using it, and not tight or uncomfortable. When I get the odd breakout, it really helps clear up the bacteria in affected areas so it doesn’t spread and cause more breakouts.

This product is my daily cleanser. I have been using it for the past 8 months and it definitely lasts long. I have oily-normal skin. I’ve tried many brands and products including the effaclar gel cleanser, and I prefer this. I get the occasional breakout but my main concern is clogged pores. This product will take care of mild acne, and congested skin. It is slightly pricey but it lasts a very long time and is the only product that iv found works well for pores (other products are targeted at acne and help with acne but leave you with gaping pores which I dislike) so if that is what you are looking for in a product I would definitely recommend this as the best cleanser to target pores.

This product is absolutely amazing!!! I’ve used it for 2 months and I’ve seen amazing changes in my skin, My face looks smooth, clean and more healthy. Finally the breakouts are in control. The cleanser is gentle with my face and works perfect

This has been my holy grail night cleanser for years. I went through a drastic change in skin texture from normal to oily skin to sahara-dry patchy skin (Thanks Chicago!) and this cleanser stuck with me even after that. Its gentle yet it cleans like a mofo. The price is a bit steep compared to other drugstore brands but you only need the tiniest amount to create sufficient lather for your whole face.

A creamy cleanser that is neutral on your skin. Not worth the price. This product is so mundane.

I could tell a difference the first time using this cleanser! It truly cleans your pores out then closes them up – perfect! It’s a tad pricey, but I’ve had my tube for over a year and that’s using it at least once a day, so it’s definitely worth the money. It’s pearly and creamy, very luxurious feeling. I don’t think I will ever change cleansers.

The effeclar skin system just worked SO well for me. Thankfully I have gone from having awful cystic painful skin or something decent and much better looking, this has literally saved my skin both physically and textually. I’m so thankful for this being made easily available. Love it and I just hope my skin doesn’t become immune to it eventually.
I am in my mid twenties with oily, hormonal acne prone skin. I’m also have a dairy intolerance which effects my skin awfully.
Face wash:
Clear liquid that lathers nicely, leaves my skin feeing so clean and fresh. Love!
Toner:
Really feel it working, has reduced my enlarged pores dramatically, really helps and is such an important step.
Cream:
Great base for make up, stings slightly but that goes also show it’s working! Makes my skin feel smoother and calms down angry red spots.
All in all, I love the 3 step skin system. I always buy 3 of these when boots have the 3for2 offers on skincare which is every few months or so. Makes it great value for money as you pay £64 instead of £96.50 for 3 boxes which will last you approx 18/20 weeks.
Before I finish I just want to say to anyone who is contemplating trying this, please do. I know the feeling of low confidence and hatred for ones own face when your skin looks bad. Try the product and I hope it works for you, if this doesn’t then try something else, don’t give up and do whatever you need to do to make yourself happy. Positive reinforcements help. I’ve been there, I know it’s hard and sad. Always remember you are beautiful 🙂

I love this cleanser! I have acne-prone / oily-combo skin, so I like something that seems to “dry” that up a bit, without overdrying.
I also have the Effaclar Purifying Gel Cleanser….I prefer the lather of this Deep Cleansing Foam Cream version (which is similar in texture to another favorite cleanser, Origins “Checks and Balances”). As a plus, a little goes a long way for both the Effaclar Deep Cleansing Foaming Cream and the .
I’d recommend the cream version over the gel, but that’s personal preference.
