For its crazy cheap price, this is a pretty amazing little cleanser. I have combination skin, and this cleaned all areas of my skin adequately, without stripping too much. It’s got a somewhat gelatinous consistency, but it works into the skin well. The scent is a distinct, fresh cucumber. I have used this mostly in the summer, as I tend to go for something more explicitly moisturizing in winter. If you’re looking for a crazy bargain, give this a try.

Like this!
I liked the mild, creamy consistency of this, I thought it to be much milder than the Best Face Forward one by Formula 10.0.6. that I used before this. I have dry skin, and it didn’t strip my skin of any moisture. What I didn’t like is that it didn’t unclog my pores as much as the Formula 10.0.6. one, but at the same time that one also made my skin feel very dry. I prefer to use this, and use a facial scrub occasionally to get rid of blackheads, I’m using the Apricot scrub by St.Ives right now. All in all I’m satisfied, but wouldn’t repurchase to try out other face washes.
Pro:
– soft, mild
– creamy
– doesn’t dry out my already dry skin
– leaves skin feel clean and fresh
– pricetag
Con:
– smell is somewhat off, not cucumbery anyway
– doesn’t clear my blackheads well
– doesn’t go as long a way as other face washes

This cleanser is very decent for someone with normal skin (definitely too drying for sensitive skin). Price-wise it is very cheap, especially since Boots continually offers 3for2 making it £1 for a 150ml bottle. If you apply it as instructed on the packaging by lathering it up into a rich foam before applying to your face, it leaves a very squeaky clean feeling. When applied directly onto the face, it can leave a slimy film even after washing it off. I found it to do a great job at making my skin feel very clean, but it leaves a very tight, drying feeling afterwards (Sodium laureth sulfate is the second ingredient). It is questionable how much cucumber is actually in this product considering it is one of the last ingredients on the list.
I have stopped using this product and have gone back to the relatively more expensive Cetaphil as a result of the drying/tightness. However, my other half who has normal skin is very happy with it.
I find it hard to rate this cleanser as it was not suitable for me but was fine for someone with normal skin. Considering the many types of cleansers and products out there, it is all relative, and I am giving four lippies because it is relatively affordable, accessible, and does what it says. I took one star off for the fact that it is not suitable for all skin types, as stated on the packaging. Also, it has a very loose consistency for something that is housed in an upside down dispenser (but this is just personal preference).
