This cleanser worked quite well for me mainly because I prefer to cleanse my face in one step at the end of the day. It was very effective in removing all of my makeup. I have dry, acne-prone skin so I don’t use a foaming cleanser in the morning, only at night to remove all the makeup and oil! I typically follow with a toner after cleansing so I’m not 100% sure if it would be drying if used on its own. Didn’t notice an overpowering smell at all. If I remember correctly, the brand doesn’t add fragrance in any of their products.

I’ve been interested in trying this cleanser ever since reading the Beautyeditor, now called the Skincare Edit raved about this in her posts. One of my good friends is hooked on it so I finally gave in and ordered a bottle. It sounds like it is the best thing to come along since sliced bread but unfortunately I have to disagree. The smell is horrible. Seriously horrible. The formula is terribly drying on the skin as well. I wouldn’t even recommend it for the oiliness of oily skinned people. There is nothing pleasurable about using this either. It doesn’t feel luxurious like a creamy cleanser, or even a gel cleanser that foams up. It isn’t soothing like a milky or lotion (non-foaming) cleanser either. Maybe it is good at taking off makeup but I wouldn’t know as I use a cleansing balm or oil to do this first. Good thing too because this stripped all moisture out of my skin, not good for a dry-skin type like myself. Did I mention the smell? Of course I did. It’s so bad you can’t get it our of your head so I have to mention it again. It smells like an herbal concoction but not in a good way. More like rotting herbs or other organic matter. It’s downright offensive to my nose. The one good thing I can say about this product is that the packaging is “clean” looking but that is not enough to make me want to purchase it again, and I can’t recommend this to anyone.

I wanted to love this but I found it drying and irritating. It removes makeup well but I’ve had tiny breakouts all over my skin in places where I don’t normally break out. Gave it a try for about a month but will be going back to Cetaphil.

Beware of other reviews here because most of them with high ratings look really suspicious – they only have 1 or few reviews.. That looks like marketing scam.
Anyways, I received this cleanser as a gift at the event, and so far I see nothing special about this product. It did dry my skin a little bit and I saw couple of white heads few days later. I also noticed that my skin looked irritated and red after using this product. After reading some other reviews I think it is due to coco-betaine that many skin care brands use. This chemical can be found in many shampoos and cleansers. Another issue that I had with this cleanser is that my skin feels very dry, almost unpleasant feeling. I am applying rich moisturizer after using this cleanser. Also, this product smells horrible, can’t stand that smell. I know they are not using any perfume etc, but they could have masked that slinkiness with natural scents.
Price for this product: $22.00.
