Is there anything this brand makes that doesn’t smell wonderful? This cleansing oil contains organic pumpkin seed oil, safflower oil, rosehip oil, ginger, white tea, squalane and a few ingredients; is non-comedogenic and effectively breaks down makeup and mineral sunscreen. The bottle is very small but you don’t need much. I have officially converted over to all MH skin care products as my base, of course I have a select few others in my arsenal but the vast majority of what’s in my must have list are by MH.

So, I love Mad Hippie products. I keep a stocked supply of Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum, Antioxidant Oil, Hydrating Nutrient Mist, Eye Cream and Vitamin C Serum. I felt like buying their Cleansing Oil would make perfect sense.. besides, I was looking for a new oil cleanser with good ingredients, but isn’t too terribly expensive. This is a litttttle pricey, but since I wear so little make up, anyway, I don’t need to use much cleansing oil each day.. We’ll see how long my bottle lasts and I’ll update this review at a later date.
Anyway, this product is so lovely. It smells awesome. almost like a spa.. My skin loves this oil cleanser. It’s so soothing. Leaves skin baby soft and doesn’t cause my oily, acne-prone skin to break out. It gently removes makeup. I’m shocked at how well it removes my waterproof mascara. I love the ritual of oil cleansing and this product allows you to have that little few minutes of “me time” at the end of your day. As always, Mad Hippie delivers on their promises. 10/10 This oil cleanser is luxurious without being too expensive.
As I ease into my 30’s, I feel like it’s so important to invest in some staple products. I’ve always taken really good care of my skin, but I feel like adding these products has been really rewarding in so many ways. First, they are inexpensive. Second, they are effective. I love oil cleansers and have been an avid fan of Macs Cleanse Off Oil. I had to try Kanebo’s version. Unfortunately, the consistency is way too thick for my clog-prone skin and I got pimples from the formula. Back to my trusty beloved MAC version! This one just didn’t work for my skin type.

This cleansing oil has a very thick consistency. It feels very greasy and heavy. It cleanses quite well with just 1 pump. However, it feels like it does not emusify completely and leaves a greasy film on the face. Of course I follow up with a foam cleanser but overall I just find this cleansing oil too heavy. The pump bottle is easy to use. I do like that Kanebo Sensai line use white bottle and tubes…look very clean and nice. The price is in the neighbor of La Mer, Amore Pacific and Nude (USD50 for 5oz).

I love kanebo’s cleansing oil. I purchased the 130ml yellow bottle with a pump dispenser for AU$19.95. Not sure what the exact name is because the writing on the packaging was all in Japanese. I used to always use wipes to remove makeup, but i was told that wipes do not remove makeup 100% properlly. Even used with a cleasner, your face wouldn’t be completely clean – results would be shown on the cotton pad i use to tone. Ever since i switched to cleansing oil i use toner less often.
This is currently my HG face makeup remover (i used l’oreal’s waterproof makeup remover for eye makeup). This cleansing oil does a fantastic job removing all my foundation, blush, concealer etc and i tend to use 1.5 – 2 pumps in the shower when I am wearing makeup, followed by my regular foaming cleanser to get rid of the oily residue. The scent is very nice and sweet and the packaging is convenient. I had no allergic reactions or breakouts with this product. My skin always feels cleaner and a lot more softer after cleansing now, i will be definately repurchasing.

I use this to cleanse at night only – the oil acts as an emulsifier of oil, dirt and makeup and doesn’t strip my face of it’s oils. I love the smell, but am so-so on the packaging. Will likely re-purchase if it continues to work and doesn’t break me out.

I adore this product. Just takes a few drops (smells divine!) and watch your makeup melt away. I have normal skin & this is not drying at all. I follow it up with Kanebo Creamy Soap, which is truly bizarro because you use a *drop* of this cream and it foams up, magically, into a super-rich cleansing cream on your face. When you rinse it off, be prepared to hear squeaking – literally. But it is not drying at all. Doesn’t leave my face feeling moisturized, just totally, perfectly clean & refreshed. These products are expensive but they truly last a very, very long time & I believe they are worth it.

I purchased the Naive Deep Cleansing oil (Green Bottle) from a Japanese grocery store thinking that it was comparable to Fancls’ mild cleansing oil…big mistake…this stuff doesn’t even come close. It’s a very thin liquid and smells nice but after a week, I noticed little pimples on my cheeks…ugh. The price was tempting at $7.00 a bottle. I should have stuck with the Fancl…oh well

I purchased this shower oil solely because the Bioderma shower oil isn’t available locally yet (it is finally in Canada, just not at the SDM locations I checked). With winter approaching, shower oils really have a lot of appeal as my body gets dry and my legs, especially, get itchy and scaly and I go through body lotion like nobody’s business. I had no intention of using this for my face! The cosmetics gal at Shopper’s really talked up this product (and the whole line) so I was willing to give it a try. Reading through the ingredients list, I was really surprised to see SLS quite high up on the list – I thought for sure that it would be one ingredient this would not contain. As shower oils, go, it’s okay – nothing great and not as nice as the other ones I have from L’Occitane, Cake Beauty and Fruits & Passions (that one, sadly, discontinued). It doesn’t go “milky” when combined with water and really just seems like more of a thick “oil” rather than a washing oil. I’ll continue to use it until I finish it but I do not think I would repurchase, especially when there are several alternative that I really do prefer and I am eager to try the Bioderma version, since I’ve been so pleased with other things I’ve tried from Bioderma.

I bought this thinking it would work like japanese cleansing oils, but noooo….the texture is very sticky, like a gel cleanser and after several failed attempt to use it like a regular cleansing oil, I gave up and use it as a facial cleanser – I’ve to use quite a lot to make it suds.
I gave it one lippie cause it doesn’t dry out my skin but it also doesn’t cleanse very well, tried it when I was staying at home and wear no makeup, no sunscreen, but after washing with this stuff and using toner, the dirt on my cotton ball is as if I haven’t wash my face at all!
I’m cheap, so being me, I would probably tried to use it up if not only for the fact that it BROKE me out. What a surprise – seeing it marketed and targeted for sensitive skin – I knew for the fact that I’m not allergic to oatmeal (its main ingredients, so it claims) as I use real oatmeal as my cleanser and mask for 2 years with good results.
I was just trying out this product thinking it would simplify my routine since using real oatmeal is messy, but to my surprise my skin reacts to it, I don’t know to which ingredients, maybe the SLS…?
Also, at the same time I was trying A-derma facial cream (will review that also) with a worse result, so that’s it, will never buy from this brand again and still confuse with what to do with the rest of the product 🙁

This oil is very different from other cleansing oils. It’s necessary to use this in the shower (or you can use it on a really wet face) for it to work. It lathers well, but it leaves skin feeling pretty tight afterwards. I really like A-derma’s other cleansers but his one just doesn’t deliver. I give it two lips because it cleanses away my makeup but that’s about it.

I have dry-normal, non sensitive skin.
This doesn’t do much cleansing for me. It never turns milky white like it says it will. I still prefer to use my Neutrogena Oil Free makeup remover followed up by a cream cleanser.
What I do use this for is a moisturizer. My skin tends to get very dry in hot showers. I slather this on my face before I go into the shower and it stops the hot water from drying my skin out. I believe my skin has stopped being so dry because I use this as a preventative measure.
Also, the pump isnt the best.
It does have added fragrance which might make sensitive skin mad. You always get a little too much oil out. I would repurchase this because its inexpensive and gets the job done.

This is a super bargain for just 2 euros. Contains sunflower oil and argan oil. I use it as a first cleanse. It feels light and luxurious on skin, cleanses everything (except mascara) and washes off really well. Does not break out or irritate my sensitive skin. Bottle and pump feel cheap, but for this price I really don’t care 🙂 Please note! There is a protocol to follow with cleansing oils: use as first cleanse and always lift off your skin with a hot cloth. DO NOT “rinse off” with water or wipe with cotton. That is not at all the proper way to use a cleansing oil! You will not get it off your skin even if it would emulsify. The oil and dirt will just stay on top of your skin (eeeewwww, disgusting). Please read about this cleansing method first for example from Caroline Hirons or any Japanese brand with a 2-step cleansing system.

I picked up this cleansing oil today because I was really curious about how cleansing oils work. So I used this as a first cleanse in the evening after I wore some light makeup (concealer, powder and mascara). The cleanser got rid of everything (I swiped toner over my face and the cotton pad was spotless) but my mascara and I knew this because I had big black splotches all over my towel (and my vision was cloudy in the way that they get when you’ve got oil in your eyes).
While it did get slightly milkier as I added a bit more water, it didn’t emulsify and rinse off. But after patting my face dry with a towel my skin feels hydrated, soft and has this nice soft matte finish. In short; even though it doesn’t rinse clean, the residue made my skin feel hydrated and comfortable. Not dry or tight.
The scent on this cleansing oil is rather inoffensive. It smells like oil, and then underneath that there’s this slight floral note. It doesn’t linger. I only smell it when I apply it to my face and even then it dissipates while I’m rubbing the oil into my skin.
I like it but I don’t like the fact that it doesn’t take off my mascara. I don’t need another morning cleanser. Or perhaps I can use it as a step one in a cleansing routine. So I most likely won’t repurchase.

I tried this last year and returned it after a week. It didn’t emulsify so it didn’t wash off properly (or rather, at all – even with a foaming facial cleanser); and it had a very strong scent, which remained on my skin along with the oil residue. Gross.

I have a very oily skin, not sensitive, no acne, no break outs, sebaceous filaments on my nose and around it. This cleansing oil does a very good job, it removes all the dirt and mascara, I massage it into my skin for 2 minutes and my skin starts to tingle. Then I wash it off with water. It does leave a filmsy residue for the first 5 minutes, I found that if I want to squeeze any filaments out of my nose after cleansing with that oil they literally come out almost without any pressure, almost as if the oil mixes with sebum in my pores and makes it slide out.
After 15 minutes the residue is almost gone and my skin feels normal.
This is has some excellent ingredients, argon oil is listed as first. I’m giving it 4 lip pies because even though it’s very good it’s not a “wow oh my god” kinda effect but I’ve only been using it for a week.

For me this is a very good first cleanse for evenings (I only cleanse twice if I wear make up or/and spf). It removes all of my make up, has good ingredients and is ridiculously cheap. I put it on a dry face, massage it in and take it off with wash cloth.

I’m really wondering how this can have such good ratings. I REALLY do not understand. If this is a product to achieve great skin, then this is laughable. This is by all means not a bad product, but it’s extremely cheap. This costs Kanebo almoust nothing. It’s minerol oil + orange juice (nice),… I bought this because I am a bit tired of using Babor cleansing oil (+10 years). I am going back to that one, not because it’s cheaper (I don’t mind money for skin care) but it is more effective, you get a greater amount and it’s soy bean oil. I am not going to say that Kanebo is a bad brand, cause I haven’t used much products, but I am not attempt to try them in the future. This is very basic and yes… bad.

This is the ‘International’ line. I was using IPSA Cleansing Oil, which is designed specially for sensitive skin and I found it quite drying lately. So, I went to shop for a new makeup remover. The Kanebo SA recommends International Cleansing Oil and International Cleansing Cream for me. Cleansing Cream seems even more moisturizing, so I chose this one.
It could be spread over skin effortnessly and could remove all makeup. I still use separate eye makeup remover because I think our eye areas need special care. Highly recommend this cleansing oil for dry or dehydrated skin. The only complaint is the price HKD260 (HKD7.8 = USD1) for 150ml and IPSA costs HKD220 for 200ml only.

I am disappointed with this cleanser.Considering the price (€40 for a tiny bottle ,about 150 ml), I find the quality not good enough. It does not rinse clean, so I need a very good foaming cleanser to remove all the residue. In the end, this double cleansing system was damaging for my dry skin. I find other cleansing oils such as Barbor or DHC a lot more effective with the fraction of price.

I picked this up at the drug store because I’d been wanting to try an oil cleanser, and there happened to be a display for it.
I have dry and sometimes very dry skin, and I was hoping that this would leave my skin with much more moisture than other products. Reading the instructions, I found it hard to understand. “Apply cleansing oil to dry skin, adding a small amount of water turning the cleanser milky white. Gently massage on to face and neck..” So do I put it on my face, and then add water, then rub? Or am I supposed to mix the cleanser and water in my hand until it turns white, then use it? I still don’t know – either way, it never becomes ‘milky white’.
Rubbing it on your skin, it feels very moisturizing and softening, but it doesn’t feel cleansing. It just feels like rubbing oil on your face. Very thick oil that you can never rinse off completely. I thought maybe this was intentional, that some oil was supposed to remain to keep your skin moisturised, but it just feels gross. My face does not feel clean at all.
The biggest problem with this stuff, is that it makes areas of particularly dry skin MUCH drier. It sucks all the moisture out of those spots and leaves them feeling extremely crusty and scaly. Do NOT use this if you have dry skin.
I don’t know, maybe this stuff could be okay if you have very oily skin; but for me, I might as well just burn $10. Useless.

Picked this up at SDM on a whim, didn’t really look into it before purchasing. The ingredients are pretty decent, some good oils, might be clogging for some though. It does work well to dissolve makeup, especially when you have a lot on. But unlike other cleansing oils i’ve tried, it leaves a very thick residue on your face. This must must must be used with a washcloth, it’s impossible to get off without one. Not too uncommon for oils, but I found this product to be particularly thick and stuck on.
So all in all, it’s OK. Not great, not bad, just OK.
