Excellent value, already on my 2nd bottle. I’ve tried a few different methods of removing eye makeup. I’m prone to getting styes and have to be very careful. I like using cleansing milk or oil cleansers on my face to remove foundation and SPF, but I wanted something especially for the eye area that would be very gentle. I saw that this was recommend by an ophthalmologist in a magazine (forget which) so I tried it out. The important thing to remember is that this is a biphasic remover, so you *have* to shake it before using! Otherwise, you’re only going to get the thick, viscous silicone layer on top, and it’ll feel awful. When you shake it, it gets thinner and more pleasant to use.
I use Lisa Eldridge’s method of sandwiching my lashes between two cotton pads soaked in cleanser and just tapping along the lashline with my finger to dislodge the pigment. No rubbing whatsoever. It does a pretty good job for eyeshadow and mascara that way. If I’ve tightlined my lashline with waterproof mascara then I need to go in with a q-tip soaked in this to get that off. I also dab my eyebrows with this.
This definitely needs to be followed up with a gentle cleanser to remove any residue, but that’s normal to me. I am using Bioderma’s gel face wash for sensitive skin right now, and it does a great job. My eye area is neither dry nor irritated and there aren’t raccoon eyes or anything like that, for the first time in my life. Stye-free, too!
For the price, you absolutely can’t go wrong. I think Cetaphil knocked it out of the park with this one.

The only eye makeup remover I’ve found that doesn’t irritate my eyes. I don’t know why it has been so hard to find one! This takes off my eye makeup very easily with very little tugging. For reference, I don’t wear waterproof. The reason I give it 4 lippies is because I’m not a huge fan of the residue it leaves behind. I still use a face cleanser that removes it, but it just feels oily and I don’t like that. I’ll stick with it anyways because it doesn’t irritate my eyes which is a hard find!

While I haven’t used many bi-phase makeup removers, the ones I DID try always had something off–too harsh, too much fragrance, didn’t dissolve makeup, required too much rubbing, too expensive…. Then Cetaphil offered their version and all I can say is WOW! It does not contain ingredients that irritate my face, such as fragrance. It dissolves tenacious makeup on contact. It requires very little rubbing and the lightest touch. These are very desirable qualities, and the fact that this product is also widely available in drugstores for a reasonable price makes it a best in category for me. The only criticism I could possibly have, and this is a stretch, is that the product is not as luxurious and cushiony feeling as Lancome Bi-Facil. But the Cetaphil comes very close, and will be my go-to from now on.

I use this in the evening as a first step in removing my make up and sunscreen. It’s really gentle, removes make up really well and doesn’t cause me breakouts, which is a miracle because almost everything else does. It’s quite soothing and I prefer it over my old stand by, Simple micellar water. After this, I follow up with Aveeno ultra calming cleanser and my face is clean and ready for the actives I slather on after.
The only con is that it comes in a really small bottle, they need to make a bigger one! And it’s kind of pricey for the little bottle you get but I’ll keep repurchasing because it’s an awesome product, regardless.
