I’ve been using this for several months now, and it’s pretty good. It’s quite emollient, gets all my makeup off (including waterproof mascara) and does a nice job of cleansing. It’s not as ‘slippy’ or clean rinsing as some others I’ve tried (Banila’s Clean It Zero is my favorite), and is slightly ‘waxy’ feeling, so I always do a double cleanse when using this just to make sure I’ve gotten everything off. This product does have scent, so folks that are sensitive may want to tread carefully. All in all, a decent product. It does what it’s supposed to. In comparison, I find this cleansing balm to be very similar to Clinique’s, in both texture and efficacy.

I bought this to remove face makeup as a first cleanse mostly because it is readily available where I live and it’s one of the few sherbet type cleansing balms that do not contain microplastics (polyethylene, unfortunately Clinique TTDO does).
The texture is a solid balm that melts into a thin oil upon contact with the skin, it feels like a cleansing oil just without the dripping and provides lots of slip. It breaks down makeup well and rinses clean. I wear heavy makeup and I will have some residue around the nostrils and in the pores on my chin but I don’t actually expect any balm or oil to remove that in one go and I always cleanse again with a milk or gel cleanser. I have not tried it on eye makeup since I use a separate remover for my eyes.
On the flipside this balm is very strongly scented, like a strong perfume. The reason why I won’t be repurchasing is that it sometimes gives me a burning sensation, especially if I’m not wearing a lot of makeup or only sunscreen, and it always burns if I use it again as my second cleanse.

Made me breakout! I did love the texture and how it felt on my skin and cleansed, but boy i regretted the whole thing the day after …

I was curious to try a new make-up remover and I love Biotherm’s products so I decided to give this a try. This has completely exceeded my expectations! Little product is needed, and my whole face of make-up comes off by just gently rubbing my skin and eye area with the balm, then splashing it off with water. there is no need to go back and use more product like other make-up removers! Also the most important thing that I did not expect is that it has made my skin texture the nicest it has been in years! No bumps, no acne, just super soft skin! I also have very acne prone skin and this has not made me break out once! not one new pimple since I started using this about 2 weeks ago! So if you have oily or acne prone skin, don’t be afraid to use! Also I would imagine this would work absolutely wonderfully if you have dry or aged skin. Very silky!

This is a really great cleanser. I’m only using it to wash my make up off and then cleanse it again. For me this works great, I don’t see myself switching to anything else anytime soon. I can only recommend it! And because of the consistency it is perfect for travel (which was the reason why i bought it).
The only downside is that it’s a little bit pricey but it’s definitely worth it. I might try also balm cleansers from other brands in the future but i doubt they will be of the same quality.

This is a brand new product from Biotherm. It comes in a hockey puck shaped container, with a screw off top. The product is almost the consistency of cold butter. You scoop some out and rub between your fingers and it turns to oil. (This is similar to Clinique’s “take the day off”, but SO much better!) You then use this to cleanse your face. It removes all traces of make up. There is a slight scent, but the cosmetic counter sales lady explained to be that Biotherm does not add scent, but if a scent comes up naturally they keep it. (Apparently all fragrance free products are QUITE heavy with chemicals to REMOVE the naturally occurring scents…who knew!) I have combination sensitive skin (lucky me!), and this product didn’t cause any problems. It also left my skin noticeably soft. I’m actually going to try using this as a mask later today. This is a new holy grail for me.
The only disadvantage is that I somehow wish that this came in a pump/squeeze bottle…but alas, it can’t due to the consistency. The price is a bit high, but SO worth it! I’m sure I could get it a bit cheaper than at my local dept. store. I should wait for a “prize with purchase” promotion.
LOVING this new product. Keep up the great work Biotherm.
