It always surprises me how differently one single product can be experienced by multiple people – everyone’s obviously different but it still surprises me!
I agree with reviewers who say this product was greasy. I certainly did not feel it was budge proof or very dry, and I live in a very dry cold country.
I actually had to stop putting my foundation over a facial oil because this eyebrow product kept smearing. Started applying setting powder over foundation and non-oily moisturizer, before putting this on, and the tail ends still smudged! One brow tail trailed off making it look super long, which was pretty embarrassing. Not going to repurchase.

I possess horrid over- plucked (ugh the 90s teen years) finally after 20 years coming back brows. (Now 39). Naturally brunette, I was ‘blessed’ with BLONDE lashes and brows. So when I dyed my head very platinum blonde — get dirty blonde in this product!!!!! The one shade down, the lightest, looks like you painted WHITE OUT on your brow in flash photography. In natural light ok only if you’re totally platinum.
Now, I’ve 180d and gotten my head into jet black territory so I’ve gotten deep dark brown brow gelcreme. I dye w brows every 2 weeks or so with hair dye but need shape and thickness. Oh… PERFECTION. Black brows to me are a little… garish. Especially against my nw13-15 skintone. I’m going for Snow White this fall and winter thinking men may leave me alone more but everyone seems to dig it the most (including me & my gal pals too!!!). With the MAC brow brush this applies as heavy or light as you’d like. Lately I like it bold, with my pinky pallor, no matter a red/oxblood lip and simple eye (painterly with a tight line on top with top only mascara, or my new fave plummy purple dark smoky shadow with a nice nude lip (such as fleshpot). Yes… I’m so pale I can rock fleshpot haaaa. A strong yet feminine (not manly Bert from he and Ernie) brow has been taking years off of my face. What I like about this product whatever the shade is that is it seems to build brow hairs where none existed…….. you’re able to make a nice sharp not smudgy tail with thickness since it clings to and quadruples hairs AND long time adheres to skin (bald patches). Long wearing — have sweat and swam with minimal fade.
In comparison to Anastasia dipbrow, this wins for me hands down. Same texture as fluidline blacktrack liner in the pot. Soft. Buttery. Smooth. You’ll use before it dries if u cap tightly and store upside down. Dipbrow — besides it’s anoyijng quick dry out (nowhere near as soft textured), I’d have to use the lid as a wipe off palette for extra and it just annoying. When any of these do dry out: you may put a drop or 2 of pure coco oil in there, nuke a few seconds, stir, and it comes out like new! Ana dipbrow just as long lasting. Both require a learning curve. A nice drama brow for a night out is this brow gelcreme, Anastasia powder duo in ebony (‘charcoal’ is GREYISH BLACK in Anastasia — I asked) — then tame flyaways with either a Maybelline fiberlash brow mascara in dark brow or a clear any brand. Oh ya – wipe brush against tissue when done

I’ve always been wary of brow pomades for fear of having those dramatic Instagram brows. No offense to those women who wear very defined brows; it’s just not my style.
Thanks to years of plucking, threading and waxing, my brows have become sparse and need extra help.
I wanted something that would stay put on my normal/combo skin and a great MAC MA applied the brow creme in True Brunette (a soft brown) and I was hooked. It’s also a bit cheaper than the much hyped Anastasia brow pomade and the container is part of the Back2MAC recycling program so I bought the Brow Gelcreme.
It’s the best $21 CAD I’ve spent on my brows. I still need to use eyeshadow or pencil to fill in parts of my brow and I like to set everything with my favourite brow mascara. (The FaceShop makes excellent brow mascaras)
The result is naturally defined, full brows that last all day without fading or smudging.
As a general rule, it’s best to go one or two shades lighter than your hair colour.
This brow gelcreme is a staple in my makeup routine.

This is a pretty good product, its more like a 3.8 lippie product, just needs a better color selection, and seems a little greasy? The SA at Ulta recommended Deep Dark Brunette, and I should have gone with my gut.. It’s way too dark, I returned it for Soft Brown from Anastasia BH. I’m a firm believer that regardless of brow color, you should always use a shade one to two shades lighter than your hair color in pomades, unless you are a very fair blonde with very light brows, then one shade darker works best, it’s what is most flattering… I’ve been more into using brow powders lately, with brow gel, liking a more natural looking brow, but this is a good product if you can find a flattering shade.

I’ve tried so many times to make this work but I just haven’t been able to get an end result I’m happy with yet. The colour for me is great, not too orange and quite deep, which works for the ends of my brows well. The texture is a mousse-y texture and I get a LOT of pigment with it.
But there’s a definite learning curve and I’m not sure I can risk messed-up brows while learning how to use it. First, it dries soooo fast and then becomes unblendable and flakey. If you try to go in with a spoolie it will become a patchy mess. If I don’t try to blend it, it looks really thick and too much for my (pretty sparse) brows. If you accidentally put on too much, there is no going back, as you can’t blend it. It can end up looking like henna or mud in your brows real quick.

I have this in Dirty Blonde, it’s SO amazing! It is moussey-rich textured & applies so easily. Any slant angle brush w a sharp hard edge will do. I’m light brunette but I find Dirty Blonde is an awesome match for those not-too-dark 1940s brows nothing too mannish masculine nor stark. A good dupe is NYX Brow pomade in blonde or ABH Taupe. To me this is the best brow product! #downtowntriplecrown

This is amazing. I’m a blonde and my eyebrows are practically see through. For the longest time I didn’t bother filling them because I didn’t think colors existed. I had tried Maybellines brow palette and it was okay. I decided to go high end and I was debating between ABH Dipbrow or this and I’m glad I chose this (also my sephora didn’t have any abh). I got Ash Blonde and it isn’t too yellowy like a lot of other blonde brow products are. I love this, it’s pigmented, not too warm, and very creamy which I think is a good, making it easy to manipulate and work into the brows, but to each their own. Would totally recommend if you’re blonde but don’t want such a yellow blonde, it’s amazing.

Why does everyone like this??? I bought it when I ran out of my Anastasia dip brow, and oh no this is soooo different. The consistency is very smooth almost moussy pomade and very light when i applied on my brow. I had to go several times in order to get the intensity right. Where as Anastasia is like a creme very pigmented and fast to use. Mac requires so much time to use on brows.
Bottom line, I returned and bought Anastasia.

This stuff is amazing! I was originally going to buy the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade but then I found out about this product, I decided to try it out and boy am I glad I did.
The formula: A little bit goes a long way, no seriously – a LITTLE bit goes a LONG way. The formula is quite similar to the Fluidline gel liner but more long lasting and waterproof. It stays put and does not flake. I even tried scratching it off my hand and it didn’t budge. Yup, and I even tested it by rubbing it under running water (it didn’t move).
My hair is a really dark brown/black so I purchased “Deep Dark Brunnette” and it suits me perfectly. You can use a little bit of product for a softer look but if you over-load the brush, it could look more bold and dark. Very versatile!
Originally, I was going to use MAC’s Fluidline in Dipdown to fill in my eyebrows although after swatching both products on my hand, the brow gelcreme is definitely more long lasting and they cost the same and come in the same 3g glass pot. I think I might even try using this product as a gel liner for my eyes. Killing two birds with one stone I guess.
As for the price: It costs $19.50 w/o taxes here in Canada which is reasonable considering how much product you get and the quality. You’re only using just a little bit at a time and the only reason why I’d repurchase because this is my new holy grail eyebrow product! Otherwise, I am a total drugstore makeup girl and I’d only splurge once in a while.
