This product is outstanding because it somehow looks like real eyebrows. It has fibers, but just the right amount, so it fills in brows without looking like Eugene Levy. It’s easy to layer, it goes on evenly, and it’s easy to dab off missed spots. My personal problem with this is that the Auburn isn’t really Auburn. It’s basically Warm Taupe, and it goes on quite dark. I think it’s pretty universally understood that Auburn, as a hair color, is a dark red? Maybe there are different interpretations of what “auburn” looks like. Or maybe lots of redheads like their eyebrows to be brown. I darken my brows with gel or powder makeup, but I still want them in the same shade range as my red hair. With all the famous redheads (natural or not) you’d think there would be some choice in eyebrow products, but you’d be wrong. For many, many years I used powder only (from Just For Redheads) because I couldn’t find anything else (I don’t like the way eyebrow pencil looks on me). Luckily,now many brands, including MAC, Ulta, Wet & Wild and Wunderbrow all make really nice eyebrow gels…but none of them get “my” color just right. MAC and Wet & Wild look the most natural, color-wise (they are both lighter, butterscotchy shades), but they don’t sculpt and fill like Queen of the Fill! Queen of the Fill outlasts all other brow products I’ve tried, as well, including European Body Art Liquid Hair (their “Auburn” is nearly strawberry blonde). I use this eyebrow gel when I want a more dramatic or refined look, because it’s so dark. It is an excellent product overall and the price is great. One things that bugs me is many Elizabeth Mott ads make a big deal out of being “cruelty-free”. I know that many of us assume “cruelty-free” means that parabens are not used as preservatives, because many people seem to be allergic to them. Even though I’m not allergic to them, they seem to be a cheap, “old school” solution to makeup preservatives. If Elizabeth Mott marketing did not go out of their way to market certain products “Paraben-free” I wouldn’t even mention the parabens in all Elizabeth Mott’s eye products. But when you label something “paraben-free”, doesn’t that make it seem like parabens must be a bad thing? Why say they’re not there unless you believe they are bad? So, it seems hypocritical to emphasize “paraben-free” in some products, but use them as preservatives in other products.
