Gives great definition, drama and is very buildable — doesn’t come on too dark or too light and you can fill in the spaces in your brows with ease. I don’t use anything else with this except a clear gel to set my brow hairs in place, and in photos I can see a difference in how my brows look vs. using brow powders. Looks natural too — doesn’t give you those scary block brows!

I really like how sophisticated the packaging is and the natural color with great definition it gives to my brow.
For the high price, its definitely more that worth it.

I had a lot of trouble with this pencil at first. Because the pencil doesn’t hold a point very well, my brows looked a bit smeary. I find that my brows look a lot more natural and sharp by applying a brow wax before going in with the Hourglass pencil. I use the NYX eyebrow shaper wax pencil all over my brushed through brows and then use the pencil.
For the price, I would expect the product to be great. However, I’m a bit underwhelmed and would not repurchase.
Pros:
great color
lots of product
quality packaging
quality spooley
Cons:
price
doesn’t stay sharp

okay. so first let me start out saying that i am very good at apply my own makeup but the brows have been the #1 struggle. from the abh brow powder, brow wiz, pomade. i got this with my $15 coupon at sephora. i was looking for a genius product and i saw this kind of hidden on the brow pencils display. I picked it up and went to the mirror and started filling in my brows. I was really really impressed on how precise this was and also a great color match given that this is the only shade sephora carried.
this pencil really is a godsend for someone with shakey hands. its like somedays my brows look great others no. this pencil really is flaw-proof its not too creamy or waxy a great mix of the two. the slanted point makes this so easy to use. holika holika eye brow drawing pencil is a cheap dupe and has the same concept as this, as i own it. It has the slanted tip, yet the hourglass elegant packaging is a little heavier- and this i believe is the secret to helping it glide on easily and more natural. I did both eyebrows with each one because i was looking for an excuse to return the hourglass given the price. the holika holika one is lightweight and harder to control. i struggled more with it. so there you have it an exact dupe and i still prefer this one. it also lasts all day. Idk how long this will last me, but if i get a couple months out of it ill be happy. packaging only gets 3 lippies, the spoolie cap interior has already detached from the outter cap but again thats just the cap, and the product still performs superb. I will repurchase this.

The best eyebrow pencil I have ever come across and I have used them all from Dip Brow to Mac eyebrow pencils. The formula is on point, easy to apply and very natural looking.

Hourglass Brow Sculpting Pencil is a great color for my dark brows, and goes well with my hair color. The pencil offers a nice, diffuse, way of emphasizing my brows without making me look like I have giant caterpillars up there. That said, I wish the pencil wouldn’t break so easily. That is really my biggest ding against it.

Yeah, this is genius. Spendy, but will last you ages. Creates a very natural but at the same time very defined brow which is exactly what I have been looking for.EDIT – Save this for winter use! Goes melty in NZ’s humid summer and this ruins the sharp edge.

This is my favorite brow product! I have black hair and brows, and while this pencil doesn’t totally match my brow hairs, it’s still ashy and dark enough to blend in seamlessly. Dark Brunette is a dark taupe that’s more grey than brown, and when blended into my black brow hairs it results in a charcoal color that’s slightly lighter than my natural hair color, which I like because inky black brows don’t suit me. The pencil doesn’t deposit too much color with one pass, so it’s easy to build up the intensity of my brows. The texture is pretty hard and dry with just enough waxiness to let the pigment grab onto hairs as well as skin, and has great longevity too. For comparison, it’s less dry/hard than Shu Uemura Hard Formula and not as waxy/creamy as Anastasia Brow Wiz. Another plus is that the spoolie included is nice and plush, so it blends the product into my brows exceptionally and can lighten things up if I over-apply. What really makes this product great for me is the shape of the pencil. It’s a thin triangle that allows me to draw on individual hairs with the edge or darken larger areas with the blunt, flat tip. As someone with slightly sparse brows, this makes brow application way faster and easier than using the usual pointed pencil, but no less precise. I love this brow pencil, and it’s generally the only product I use on my brows if I’m putting on makeup. I highly recommend it to anyone with dark hair, but especially those who find most brown brow products to be too warm or brown.

I love this brow pencil, it applies beautifully and the colour is perfect and buildable, with no red tones to it. It lasts all day on me and does a pretty good job at keeping my brows in place. It’s a little pricy, but still the best brow pencil I’ve used (though I am keen to try the brow wiz next time!). I don’t love the packaging because I was twisting it up a little so I could use it and the wax stick snapped and flew out of the tube 🙁 Still usable for now, but I won’t be able to use the whole thing.

For years I’ve been alternating between Anastasia and MAC’s retractable brow pencils. I went through these things faster than any other makeup product and found that the amount you receive is so little compared with the high price. I went to Sephora to look for something new that I liked as much as the ones I’d been using for a long time and the SA recommended the Hourglass brow pencil. I was dubious at first because the pencil looked so thick and the color was so dark (I have dark brown hair and pale skin and the medium brown pencil had a gray cast to it). Now, after a week of using it, I have to say that I love this product! It’s easy to use and with a light touch looks fabulous! Will definitely repurchase, although with the amount of product I doubt that will be anytime soon.
