I’ve realised that my favourite powder is Billion Dollar Brows in Taupe. I’m kicking myself as I could have bought another bdb for a great price but decided that since I’d just bought this Thebalm powder in both “blonde” and “dark brown”, I didn’t need another bdb one even though it was a steal. I’ve been on a self imposed low buy and I thought, a powder’s a powder! Well, it’s not.
This powder, the shades are fine in terms of the good tones. The blonde is very ashy. The dark brown is actually a mid brown so I think would be too light for those with dark and black hair.
But, what ruins things is, like all Thebalm eyeshadow, this brow powder suffers from absolutely awful fallout. Whereas the bdb powder doesn’t kick any powder up at all and gives a beautiful soft powder brow finish, these ones are just like eyeshadow and rub off easily. Moreover, I think they give me breakouts in my brows as they’re kind of oily and heavy. It also gives a very harsh line without any soft delicate powdery finish.
To be honest I’ve been very let down by at least 90% of the thebalm stuff I’ve bought. I found it all on deep discount so I bought tons, but time and again I find I have way better stuff in my collection. I personally would never recommend this and I wish I hadn’t bothered buying it. In my case it meant I staved off buying a backup for a product that I now realise really can’t be replaced and I haven’t found anything which is as perfect.
This Thebalm powder is literally just using a sub par eyeshadow for your brows. If I was going to do that I’d use a MAC eyeshadow powder, which I’ve done in a pinch – doesn’t give a soft natural brow but at least lasts well and don’t make my brows itchy and uncomfortable like this one does.
If you like to draw individual hairs maybe the fact that it’s hard lines is a bonus. For me I like a soft retro brow so it always gives me garish loud brows and I am actually using blonde as an eyeshadow and although not the best, I way prefer it to the harsh brow look so I’m still getting use out of it.

I really like this brow product from TheBalm. On a day to day basis, I prefer a natural looking brow that this powder provides, I still love my ABH or NYX gels/pomades/tinted brow gel, but I prefer a powder with a tinted browgel for during the day. This comes in only 3 colors; blonde, light brown and dark brown…I use the light brown, its really more of a medium brown, its not red or too warm. I’ve purchased 2 of these in the last 4 years, and for $15 @Kohl’s they last quite awhile. I have used several other brow powders, and like this the best. I’m a huge fan of TheBalm and have at least 10-12 products from blushes, bronzers, glosses, tinted moisturizer, and several palettes, and all their products are talc free, paraben free, AND cruelty free.

This little pot of product has lasted me for 2 years. 2 YEARS of constant use, and guess what: I’ve not even hit pan. I probably have like half/one-third of the product left. This stays on all day and is super pigmented, blendable and easy to work with, gives you a really sharp edge and for the price…! Lets just say I won’t get a tiny Anastasia pencil for 10 dollar extra… I can’t imagine that one lasting for 2 years
The only thing is that now I’m bored with a brow powder, and I want to use a brow pencil again… But I would absolutely repurchase!
