Really, I never gave too much thought to brow products until the brow explosion a couple of years ago. Great, another thing to obsess over!
My brows are pretty full and dark-they are almost black-very cool-toned, and my hair is light ash blonde, so any redness in a brow product is NO. My usual favorite is Stila All-Day Waterproof in Medium, which is a tad light but very ashy.
The new Glossier drop is a similar product-it’s a flexible brush tip marker, very fine, which allows individual hairs to be drawn on. By following a product like this with a clear brow gel, a very natural, non-Instagram brow can be achieved. I bought two products to compare: the Glossier in Brown and the MAC Shape and Shade in Stud, which is an almost charcoal brown.
The products are quite similar; The Mac has accompanying powder of the reverse end of the pencil, which I’ve ignored so far. Both are quite lasting, and have to be removed at the end of the day. The Glossier is a neutral/cool deep brown, and did not pull red on me. The Mac is more highly pigmented with a finer tip-so you get finer drawn hairs, but have to be careful and use a light hand. Where the Mac is superior is the quality of the wear-the Glossier product gets blurrier as it wears, and though you’d have to be close to see it-it is happening.
I like this method of brow color-I use it to lightly refine shape, darken the tails a bit, and fill in sparser areas. I’m curious to see what others think. The bottom like: my order of preference is Stila, Mac then Glossier. All are good-I would repurchase any if the others weren’t available.
