Picked this up in “Taupe” at a T.J. Maxx for next to nothing, I mean, it was so cheap. The shade worked well (I’m NC 25 blonde, blue eyes) since I’m 60 and thick, dark eyebrows don’t mix well with wrinkles and sagging chins. The reason I am giving it a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 is that it was a little gloppy and hard to apply without making a mess. I found the formula to be gummy and by the end of the day I had crumbs in my eyebrows. Just didn’t look good. I’m back to my Anastasia brow gel.

Found this by accident at Winners, I actually didn’t even know this product existed from Ardell but I saw it had a tiny brush and since I like their brow pomade figured what the h*ll and picked one up in Dark Brown (a very neutral toned brown). The first thing I noticed is that the formula is much drier than other brow gels and honestly it is way better because of that (in my opinion) because it doesn’t go on gloopy like some others do. I’m not into brow gels all that much however, when you discover the occasional white hair among your dark brown brows as you get older this does help to disguise it. The formula is effective at holding brow hairs in place without feeling stiff or crunchy, which is another bonus. I’m not surprised about liking this, Ardell has a good brow pomade as well.

I have this one in the shade “Taupe” and it’s the best for cool blondes! No warmth in this one at all so none of that weird tint that some blonde products have (that almost make your brows look irritated). I have the L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper Brow Gel Mascara (can you think of a longer name??) but like this one even more, because the Ardell is more neutral. The L’Oreal is a little golden in comparison, though still not bad. What I also prefer about the Ardell one is that is that it seems easier to apply. The wands are pretty similar in size but the Ardell is less likely to have too much product on the brush. Maybe the L’Oreal just needs a smaller hole in the neck (or the squeegee?) What do you call that thing?
I don’t usually use this on its own. I tend to apply a little pomade (Kiss Professional) first and then use the Ardell to add a little more volume and to brush the hairs into place. It has little fibers that add fullness and it looks very natural. It’s also not stiff and crunchy.
I found mine at Winners for $4.99 Cdn but if I do see it at the dollar store, I’ll stock up!

i cant believe i found this at dollar tree, so i picked up like 10 of them
i believe brow products are the most overpriced makeup products on the market, and $5 is probably the max id pay for a pencil now.
(i have bought abh powders in the past but i was naive)
i found taupe and medium brown shades at my dollar tree store and these 2 shades work for me.
i like my brows a bit lighter bc its less maintenance, and my brows are on the slightly fuller side.
this product works just fine for me, i will never again spend $ on a high end brow product.

This is probably my new HG eye brow gel. I have very thin eye brows but for some reason, most eye brow gels won’t hold them in place throughout the day. I didn’t find the ABH brow gel all that great, the milani fiber brow gel did almost nothing for my brows, and the only one that I really liked was the L’oreal Brow Plumper gel (although it kind of made my eye brows a bit crunchy AND they aren’t cruelty free, but they held my brows in place all day). This stuff is amazing. I can’t find it anywhere in stores in Canada so I have to get it online, but I read rave reviews about most of Ardell’s brow products and I decided to give it a shot. Amazing. Lasted all day, really defined and bushed up my very sparse brows and it doesn’t feel crunchy. I like the wand as the applicator is small enough for me to really get in there but not too small that it takes forever to do. I use this over filled in brows (pomade or brow pencil) to keep them in place and lasting all day (makeup likes to disappear on my face). I have yet to try it on it’s own, but I think it works well enough that it would also look good on more natural days. Fair warning though, I got medium brown and I almost thought they packaged the wrong colour in the tube. It looks gray when you pull out the wand and dries down almost to a soft black. I have black hair so it works completely fine on me but just make sure you take a look at the swatches before purchasing (the label colour looks deceiving too). I think it comes in 4 shades: taupe, medium brown, dark brown, and soft black. GO CHECK IT OUT!
