This is my HG brow product! I am a natural blonde with the invisible eyebrows and eyelashes that go with it, so I’ve been using eyebrow products since I was a teenager. My former HG (for several years) was Makeup Forever Aqua Brow, however I do have an oily T-zone and I could just wipe my brows off by the end of the day. I decided to try the Sephora Brow Builder over a year ago, despite its mixed reviews. This product stays on through rain, swimming, sweat, and oil!! Yes, the brush can be a little challenging, but you can always use a regular brush instead. LOVE this product!

I actually love this more than Benefit. Purchased in Nutmeg…..perfect!

Love this product! Just recently bought it a week ago. I love/hate that it’s waterproof just because it’s difficult to get off. But that’s also a plus! Since I workout a lot and it stays the whole day, plus some! Definitely would buy again. Love the way it shapes my brows. I feel like my brow routine used to take me a lot longer, and this has helped shorten that time. I wish the consistency wasn’t as thick, but this is a newer product I believe, and I’m sure they are still working out the kinks and will probably come out with a 2.0 some time in the future. All in all, I really like it, and I think you get your bang for you buck.

Let me start by saying this is not for beginners. It’s great for brow building and he color (charcoal) is amazing. If you want definition then you need a brow brush to help move the product more precisely. Overall I love this and will buy again.

Let me begin by saying the product is amazing. Amazing. It really builds my brows and stays on forever….it is perfect for the pool/beach/gym etc. Even my makeup eraser works overtime to remove this, washing my face included. That said….instead of 5 lippies HG status, here are my issues: The color selection outside the USA (only 2 shades. I wear ‘nutmeg’ in the waterproof brow pencil but this brow builder seems a tad darker… if they added another lighter shade and perhaps something for redheads it would be a better collection), and….like the first poster below, the brush is like a fuzzy q-tip and difficult to control (one false move and you have it all over your brow bone or too thick in one part). I have to swipe off a lot of product before using this, and a mascara type wand or spoolie would be easier, IMO. I have tried using the brush from a Maybelline brow product I have but that doesn’t pick up enough product. sigh. Hopefully they change the wand, but I still work with this because it lasts and lasts and makes my sparse brows look so fluffy and natural.
EDIT: I’ve been using the formerly ‘useless’ comb from the sephora retractable brow pencil to apply this and am happy! Soft application you can build, combs through your brow hairs and less chance for mistakes or heavy application!!

Though I don’t own Benefit’s Gimmie Brow, I’d take this as a dupe since the brush and slightly fiber-y consistency seems similar. First of all, I had to totally wipe the brush clean because it was too goopy, but after that, I loooove the control and color. I have medium brown hair and “Midnight Brown” is the most natural looking color I’ve ever tried as for brow gels (not too orange or ashy). It comes off easily when I wash my face with Glossier’s Milky Jelly face wash so not sure if the staying power would qualify as “waterproof”. Btw I’m always going for as natural look as possible and my only complaint is how this inevitably gets on my skin on my outer brows a tiny bit which looks like poorly applied powder. The dried texture is a bit matte for my taste actually…looking like powder was used too. Definitely keeps brows in place…somewhat stiff.

This new waterproof brow builder from Sephora is horrible. I thought the applicator would be like a mini mascara wand (like the applicator in Benefit’s Gimme Brow). Instead, the applicator is like a fuzzy Q-Tip, difficult to control and lays down too much product. The product itself comes out in clumps. It seems like a niche product just for people who want to impersonate Joan Crawford or Groucho Marx.
I am curious to see if this works for anyone and how they are applying it.
