Listen carefully: this brow color is perfect for almost EVERYONE, even those who would normally avoid it as being too dark. The only people I would discourage from getting this color would be the gals who are: 1) very blonde AND 2) have to draw on their brows. In that case, it may be too dark for you. To all other blondes (with sufficient brow hair) and brunettes (and redheads) this is for you.
This color is quite dark and would appear to be too dark for blondes, but hear me out. I have white blonde eyebrows. Blonder than Gwyneth. Without brow dye, I look like I could be albino. I have Type I skin (never tans, always burns). In short, I could not be lighter and am a “Light Summer” on the color charts, but with a slightly warm tone to my blonde hair. NW10 in MAC foundation. I have sufficient brow hair, with some missing due to a scar in my eyebrow. If I use the MAC 208 brush with this, and lightly brush it across my brows (not skin, except on the arch), it seems to fill in the scar (perhaps bc it slightly thickens my brows?) and it looks totally natural–indeed much more natural than the “blonde” and “taupe” colors that are usually recommended for blondes. Since when does someone actually have that color of brow hair? Never. The “blonde” shades for brows really only work for those girls that are blonde and draw on their brows, bc it looks good from a distance and is not too harsh. Otherwise, it always gives my brows a chalky and unnatural look.
For redheads (like my sister): stop trying to match your eyebrows to your hair color. That looks terrible. Use this shade.
I also dye my brows with Just For Men (dark blonde shade).
As for the formula, it is PERFECT. It stays on and does not budge. It is easy to work with and not greasy or watery. I make sure to only get the tiniest amount on the brush, and it can be such a light, natural look, even when drawing on an arch. I think the MAC angled brow brush helps, too, so you might want to try that with this product. I honestly love this formula so much and panic when I think of them ever discontinuing it. I used to have the taupe color and loved the formula so much but couldn’t figure out how to avoid the chalky look that comes with “blonde” shades–until I figured out that this color was what I needed for the “no makeup” look, despite that being somewhat counter intuitive.
Update: I’ve been sticking to MAC Charcoal Brown + Glossier Boy Brow, in Blonde, lately, due to the wet factor of this product. It’s great, but if it gets on my skin, it’s too dark.
