I like this product a lot. There is a learning curve. Don’t fuss with it too much. Latte is a nice tan for my fair skin. I use this mostly for my legs when I want to wear dresses or capris. A little goes along way when I use it just for that. It’s very expensive but I use it sparingly.

I bought this in cafe creme (the lightest shade) and latte (the medium shade). Cafe creme is surprisingly pale and I assume it’s designed for palest redheads to get a realistic tan. So for that it truly is enterprising as I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before! And let me tell you it is such a delicate hint of ‘bonne mine’ that even a translucently pale ginger person who in reality would never get a tan (just burn) would look tanned. If I’m doing my legs, arms or décolletage I need the latte though; it gives a great realistic tan which I’m sure would suit most skin tones. In fact if I’m not mistaken, initially latte was the only version they had, and it sold fantastically. It also was touted as being for both face and body – but when it did so well, inevitably the company brought out a specific face product called beauty blur.
By happy chance (having blind bought both shades) I really love using cafe creme as a face primer. At first I used it as a foundation – in my opinion it is quite “makeupy” and not quite like a lotion. Still, I prefer it as a primer as personal preference I like ELDW and don’t feel myself without it. I once watched a (ted talk) video about the science of beauty, and the professor said we look better with a golden tint, as it means we are well nourished and get sunlight. I feel like this is what I get with body blur! I look healthier and it does genuinely bounce the light in a way that makes my pores look tiny! It’s rewinding to a time that I’ll never see again! And even under ELDW it shines through. (I can’t say if it makes it last longer, as on me, ELDW is HG holy of holies and it always lasts a whole day without need of a primer.) -it also doesn’t have a siliconey feel.
I am self conscious about my legs. I have a few v minor scars from when I used to have folliculitis (incidentally I bought the Philips lumea and it stopped it instantly; if only I’d bought it sooner!) Until I found Sally Hansen leg spray I would be too ashamed to wear shorts even in the heat. Suddenly with SH I could wear a skirt and shorts and it was an epiphany! Anyone who has tried SH knows it’s serious coverage. This, by contrast, covers in a different way. It covers by reflecting the light away, so it’s much cleverer. It’s also much prettier. But I am not sure if it’s enough or if I’ll end up relying on SH again come summer. We’ll see. I hope I can just use this as it’s much more elegant.
For shoulders and arms and décolletage I love using Latte; cafe creme I’m using exclusively as a face primer – 100ml will last a very long time so it’s in fact very good value! I have no urge to try beauty blur (though I’m sure it’s excellent) because this does the job so well. It’s glowy and realistic and it feels nourishing on my skin. Also, although it might be residue left over, I actually look better after makeup is off. My skin looks softer and a nicer tone. The best thing is how it makes my skin look younger. I’ve never had a product make my pores “disappear” – it really did make me remember a time when I was poreless. (At least when I was young I appreciated it: I remember pressing my face against the mirror and saying to myself, “I’m poreless!” Sigh. Now but a memory.) It may prove addictive to have a product which takes me almost back to that. It makes me look like the skin I had 10 years ago! (ugh saying that is so gut wrenching)
I wrote I would repurchase, because I might. I managed to get it on promotion so I imagine it’d have to be on promotion again. At full price (£30) it’s probably too much, it’s hard to contemplate: As far as body bronzing, I would say no I wouldn’t repurchase, only as we’re so spoilt for things like this on the market. For so long, SH had the monopoly. Now everyone has one, from drugstore to high end. I like the st tropez instant tan, in some ways more, as it has more coverage – but this has something that they all don’t… it really does look like expensive sheer stockings. The others have a skin like quality, but not a luxurious sheer delicate stockings effect. The brand advises to use this over their self tan. I did buy their self tan as well, so I may try that and it may solve the problem of needing a bit more coverage for my own self consciousness. I bet it would work. When I tried cafe creme on legs it didn’t give the coverage I wanted, but it looked like I’d put on some sheer expensive tights. So beautiful! (I can well believe celebrities rely on this.)
But my favourite instant tan for body has to be, for its ease of use and the coverage, Laura geller body frosting in Tahitian glow. (Lisalisad1 put me onto this and body blur btw.) However, I’ve found myself wearing body blur alone on days when I need to quickly rush out (those days when you go out looking a fright and inevitably see everyone you know!!!) – I quickly smear this on my face and neck, instantly my skin tone is even and I look like someone who ‘just doesn’t need makeup’ 😉 😉
So it’s a mixed review but I think it’s a great product, it has premium ingredients and it’s all organic (hyularonic acid and various vitamins) – I’d miss this. I do believe it is different to all the other iterations I’ve tried, and I’ve tried lots. (I also picked up vita liberata’s “wash off body bronzer” which is a third of the price, not tried it yet, so I’ll be interested to see how that one compares.)
This is basically a foundation, it feels like a high end foundation that you decadently spread on your body. And maybe that’s exactly how it’s meant to be. About time body flaws were able to be hidden away without looking like you’re caked in “makeup”. Nowadays I’ll never go out (even to the gym) without putting something on my shoulders chest and arms. I particularly appreciate vita liberata putting an emphasis on organic, cruelty free, high quality skin care ingredients.

Some say this product is being used by celebrities on the red carpet. There is a huge hype about how it makes people look flawless. I am not sure what people are talking about but this made me look like a disco ball. Yes, you cannot see the flaws because you get blind by the shine. I tried this under my foundation too. No difference! I will save my money and go for Glotion made by L’Oreal at 1/4 of the price. By the way, this product didn’t even work as a self tanner.
