Another hit from Lush. I used this on dry skin and it exfoliated wonderfully, with an amazing scent. Rinsed it off and continued with my normal shower routine, and my skin is soft and glowing. I barely used the bar up as well. Overall, a definite must have for Lushies..

I wasn’t happy when LUSH discontinued their 17 Cherry Tree Lane soap a few years ago as it was one of my all-time favourite scents of theirs. However, they’ve redeemed themselves (to a point) since then by introducing other products that have the same scent. And this body scrub is one of them.
First off, for anyone that’s used the Rub, Rub, Rub Shower Scrub, this is essentially that product but in bar form. However, whereas the shower scrub version can be quite harsh if you scrub too much, this is much gentler on the skin. I’ve found the easiest way to use this is to shower first, then wet the bar before turning the shower off and proceeding to exfoliate as usual by rubbing the whole bar on those bits you want to be a bit smoother. Once done, I turn the shower back on to rinse off any residue left by the scrub and… job done!
There are good things and some not-so-good things about this product:
1 – it smells good, but not quite as good as the shower scrub version. However, I have found that the scent does stay on my skin and seems to get stronger as the day goes on, which is fine with me as I find the scent very pleasant.
2 – although it does exfoliate my skin I find I have to use a lot more pressure to get the same results as I experience from the shower scrub version and other, sugar/salt-based exfoliating scrubs. Which leads me onto the final point…
3 – applying the pressure needed to exfoliate means the bar crumbles and falls apart as you’re using it, leaving little, pretty much unusable bits of it in the bottom of the bath/shower which means it ends up being very wasteful. These in turn can cause it to become very slippery if you don’t rinse well afterwards.
Overall, although I liked the scent of this and the basic premise behind it, for the money (£5.95) I know I can get exfoliating scrubs that work better and last much longer than this one does, so as a result I won’t be tempted to repurchase it again in the future.
