I bought a sample of this blush in several colours and dithered for ages on which one to buy the full size. I decided on Gentle and I’m SO glad I did!
First, this blush is unlike anything I have used before. It is truly a liquid, closer to Benetint than Posietint by Benefit as it’s not a gel. But it doesn’t stain. You get 30ml for £16.50 which is cheaper than a lot of high end blushers, but when you consider you might only use a dot per cheek you’re getting a lot for the money.
The bottle is a little squeezy plastic one with a screw top and almost a dropper like top. You need to shake well before applying – I like to apply two or three dots per cheek then blend with a stippling brush. Because it doesn’t stain, you don’t need to work at the speed of light.
So – onto why I chose this colour. I have rosacea and I’m always looking for that one product I can use that will disguise the redness but not so much it looks like make up. For me, this is that product. The colour just perfectly blurs the redness so I can wear it over bare skin for a really natural look. I normally wear over foundation though, and this gives the most lovely natural flush – this one is a peachy brown colour, but there are pinks in the range if you have a cooler skin tone. Surprisingly, this dries down matte, so what it means is that with careful product choice I can skip powdering. As mentioned before, it doesn’t stain, but it doesn’t budge either until you wash it off.
I also have another Illuminator product from the range – both together are amazing. I will definitely buy again.
