According to ColourPop’s website their blushes have the same texture as their Super Shock eye shadows. Well, the item I received didn’t. I received a Super Shock eye shadow in my order that was wonderfully wet and spread nicely, whereas this blush had the texture of fresh Play-do. I could barely get it to spread on my cheeks, thus ending up with splotches of lavender where I first applied it. As for the color, it was a very cool lavender. I would say it was too cool for me, which is saying a lot because I am a NW10 and nothing is too cool-toned for me, but since the blush wouldn’t properly sheer out for me and has many positive reviews on the ColourPop website by pale, cool-toned reviewers, it is very possibly fine for someone like me when not dried out. Since ColourPop does not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges, I cannot recommend this product at all since you have no idea the quality of the product you will be getting.

It looks really scary and unusual in the pan but somehow looks beautiful and unique on my olive skin 🙂 I really love the spongey texture of colourpop products also.

I was having fun at Ulta a while back and I noticed the new Urban Decay blushes. Oh my goodness! Purple blush! I love purple! My heart was broken some years ago when Aromaleigh discontinued its Sonic Rocks blushes. I had a little sample pot of Wildflower, the most beautiful purple blush–a touch of shimmer. I have hoarded it and us a little speck of it every once in a while. I have always wanted a standard size of purple blush like that lovely Wildflower.
So UD has purple blush, but it has been out of stock for weeks, and I pretty much can’t justify spending that much money on one blush. I decided to look for dupes via the Internet and there on Temptalia: Colourpop Rain! I had to have it and placed my first order and oh, it’s all I hoped for! Purple blush! It is very close to the UD color, Bittersweet. I have the UD cream blush that was sadly discontinued in Greedy, a berry purple shade–I got this at a steal on clearance when they discontinued the blush.
Rain is a matte medium purple and simply beautiful. A little goes a long way in the Colourpop formula. This is my first experience with Colourpop and the spongy texture is interesting. I find that it blends out just fine with my fingertips. You need just a small amount for good color, so a pot of this should last for a very long time. You are supposed to close the little pots tightly to keep the product from drying out. I can’t imagine anyone using up a whole pot or even hitting pan on these blushes before the product expires or dries out: it’s that pigmented. I like that this brand is cruelty free and made in the US, and also that the blush is fragrance free. I also got More, Please, which I will review later when I have the courage to actually wear it. But Rain! Oh, you lovely purple girl, you!
