I like this blush for an everyday neural blush. It can be used as a bronzer/contour as well.

So 8 years ago i went on a hunt for my perfect nude contour natural my cheeks but better blush. Lol ive tried Blushbaby – muddy and dirty on me, Tenderling – cute color but too light and didnt show up well. Harmony- great contour but not a great blush color. PRISM- PERFECT.
I initially bought Harmony because i wasnt into cheek *color* in highschool. I just wanted chisled cheeks that gave me definition and contour. Around 2010 was when contour was still fresh on youtube. Anyways i stuck with it and always had Prism in the back of my mind. I always knew i lowkey regretted not picking up Prism. Sigh and now here we are 8 years later i got into Mac all over again and had to revisit the one that got away. I have no idea why i picked Harmony over this hidden gem. This is more pinkier than Harmony without the muddiness of Blushbaby and is darker than Tenderling. Ive not tried buff but its discontinued anyways. Prism is the pinky nude i wear when i rock a red or dark lips (Ruby woo or Diva). I wouldnt consentrate this on the apples like i would a flushed type of blush, id use this with a contour slanted blush brush for shading where I’d usually out bronzer. If i find this lacking in *color* i would often use Mac Margin above Prism and in the apples of the cheeks for a more glowy gradient look. This is a blush that just make your cheeks look better without overpowering and does it discretely. Maybe too discrete because i need to pack this on. Downside is the pigment and also it hard pans very easily even with spot cleaning my brushes. But this is a very pretty blush. Like the reviewer below me puts it, its “good lighting” in a pan. It adds shadow and a bit of neutral pink color so i dont look washed out or dead. Its not a barbie pink not a red pink, Its a brown pink without looking muddy, it just looks like i have healthy skin. Blends well and does not go on patchy. Just not very pigmented.
Prism is my favorite mac blush for sure. I guess i have a weird obssession with Margin because it makes me glow from within but I still would pick Prism. When i compare the two, Prism is the matte and can double as a contour bronzer. If you are looking for a nude or a bronzer that isn’t orange, look no further!

Prism is good lighting in a pan. I am nw20 with neutral skin (pinky to look at but this odd golden undertone too), deep winter. I wanted something to go well with my bolder red or berry lips during the holiday season. Margin (which I had) was a good contender. It could sometimes feel a touch warm, but it worked and provided a very soft something on the cheek. But when ever I asked for recs people kept suggesting Melba or Prism. So I checked out both and both were good. But, if there is an ounce of orange in a shade, I will pull it out! So Melba skewed just a hair on the warm side. Just like Margin, it still worked. But compared to each other, Margin was softer on me and the winner with the MAC rep at Ulta that was helping me. My Ulta doesn’t carry Prism, so I went to the closest MAC spot I could find and tried Prism. Compared to Margin and Melba it felt plenty neutral (pinky beige/brown – reminds me of Bobbi Brown Malted eye shadow color), but offered a bit more depth to my cheeks. It does the same thing for my cheeks that NARS Sin does. It was like a shading almost. While Margin and Melba did not over shine my bold lip, Prism did the same thing, but it was like someone just put me in good lighting. I had more defined cheekbones suddenly and just a hint of more definition and shading. If you were going from a day look to evening something like Margin to Prism could do it. But you can also use Prism as a day blush too for more definition…not just in color, but in impact, it really reminds of what NARS Sin does for my cheeks. And NARS Sin is probably one of my favorite blushes because it adds so much to my look without over powering it at all. So if you find yourself humming and hawing between these options, I hope you find this helpful. NARS Sin fits better with my slightly more fall toned (hint of brown) looks where as Prism lets my deep reds and berry shine a bit better.

This is my go to blush! I am very pale/porcelain in skin tone and I actually use this as kind of like a bronzer to warm up my face. I had never found a bronzer that doesnt make me look muddy or orange and this blush is actually very beautiful to use in place of a bronzer. Its a nudey warm brownish color with just enough pink in it to make my skin look very natural and glowy! Its very pretty! If you are very pale I definitely suggest this one : )

Prism was my very first MAC blush which I bought when I had a makeover done. I asked for an everyday neutral look and the MA gave me the perfect look which included this blush. (I remember buying the eye shadows, lipstick and the Prism blush)
It looks quite plain and boring in the package but it gives a very subtle glow to my NC30 skin tone. I have rosacea and I find this blush doesn’t bring out the redness like other blushes can.
MAC describes it as a muted pink brown shade and that’s pretty accurate. I like applying it on top of a BB pot rouge (either Uber Beige or Powder Pink) for a bit more colour and staying power.
This is the perfect neutral blush for everything and I’m so glad I re-discovered it after all these years.
Thank you MAC for not discontinuing this shade.

Bought this based on some reviews here. I’m NW20-25 and wouldn’t have purchased this but a couple of reviewers with my same coloring liked it. Thing is, it looks brown and muddy and flat in the pan, but when I apply it, it looks like me. I applied it in natural light and it became the blue-based reddish/brownish color that appears naturally in my cheeks. It doesn’t look like blush. It just looks like I have more color in my face. Some days I wear it alone; others, I’ll highlight a little with WNW Reserve Your Cabana; and some times I add a little CoverGirl Plumberry Glow on the very tops of my cheeks. Prism will become a go-to for me. Not the kind of go-to that makes you jump up and down but the kind that makes you look healthier and more awake. I need all of that I can get!

I am a huge MAC blush fan, I have tried so many. Sunbasque used to be my favourite, wear-with-everything, hard to overdo colour, but I think Prism has dethroned Sunbasque. My shade is NC30. I’ve tried (but not bought) Exposed and Blushbaby for this natural nude flush people kept talking about, but they were so cool toned on me, and I also tried Tenderling, but it was too fair. I love my peachy blushes but sometimes they clash with certain lipcolours and eyeshadows. I never hear anyone talking about Prism, but I’m so glad I picked it up. On my skin it looks like a soft nude that’s 100% neutral, not too cool or warm. It also has no rose or red in it, which I appreciate, because my cheeks flush. This is pigmented and deep enough to where I don’t have to struggle to build it up, but still natural looking no matter how much I put on. Will never be without Prism!

I used to enjoy experimenting with other blush brands, but now I’ve tried MAC I will only ever stick to my two favourites (MAC and Tarte). This is so finely milled but the powder doesn’t fly everywhere and get stuck in all the cracks of the packaging. I enjoy being able to see the colour through the packaging and how sturdy it feels.
I am very fair so if I use this as a blush I have to use a light hand, but this colour is also handy as a contour shade. I have never found a blush so practical and long lasting, this lasts longer than my Tarte Amazonian Clay!
Worth. Every. Dollar.

Why do I bother with any other brand of blush? MAC has the best finely milled but not dusty formula and you can buy two shades of MAC for the price of some other high end blushes. The tablet is a good size and easy to open.
Prism is perfection. I am NW 20/25 and was looking for some extra color for the summer without going for a bright shade. This is perfection. A neutral, mid toned, mauvey beige. More tan than Cargo Tonga. Less orangey than Tarte Glisten or Buff. No sparkles. Just what I was looking for. My cheeks but oh so much better.

This blush has history. From my ratchet crazy days to interviewing at my first corporate job, this blush has been with me since the beginning! It’s great on my skin tone (tan nc42) and it lasts forever! I really like the formula of this blush as well. Some of the MAC blushes are hard to work with but this blends easily and the color is great for work and play.
