I know this is limited edition and long gone but I just rediscovered this and have now been addicted. I must admit I deported mine into an old plastic jar I had (a skincare pot) and I keep the paper packaging in my protected stash but I see why they used paper and it does make a charming and retro piece in fact to be honest the metal jars do lose some of that chic simplicity and understated natural elegance. However let’s be real: packaging does need to be sturdy enough that you can apply it in the bathroom without any fear. (Bathroom in U.K. is not toilet by the way lol)
Anyway as to the product: if you are past your 20s (sob) then you will happily pay good money for the youthful glow this gives! It’s a beautiful warm pink flush and even more glowy than the meteorites but not quite metallic and reflective like their wonderful highlighters. I absolutely love this and I’ve been wearing it every day. You get a generous 13g but I can 100% see myself going through these and finishing them. Luckily I have a backup 🙂 I hope guerlain brings this idea back as it truly is unlike other blushers. Yes I have plenty of glowy blushers and it’s not really unique strictly speaking but it’s probably the nicest glowy blusher I have as it’s not metallic at all it’s just a youthful glow that they’ve somehow managed to mimic to perfection. I believe when I wear this it takes 5 years off me! And makes me look like I’ve had an active run and eaten healthily haha. If you find this on sale don’t hesitate!

You know when you just know you shouldn’t buy something unseen but then you go ahead and do it anyway – well that was me with this blush…All the lights were flashing at me “Guerlain” “Meteorites mini Balls” in a “Blush” and I just had to have it as fast as I could activate my credit card with some online shopping ..the waiting..anticipation..then upon arrival just a little disappointed – not with the product itself but the packaging, I knew they were going to be in cardboard and that’s fine but the lid does not stay on firmly so they have to stay upright all the time and would be hopeless to travel with. You have to be careful with these when dipping your brush in, to tap it off to dislodge the small pearls that get embedded (and they are small).
The product itself is a beautiful true luminous pink with a very, very slight subtle hint of shimmery light gold on my NC15 skin tone, I do find I need to layer it a couple of times to build it up to the pink I like and I’m not sure how this would work for dark skin tones. This blush lasts pretty well for quite a few hours before fading down to a more muted version of itself after a full day on. I apply over foundation and powder. My favourite brushes to apply this one are the ELF Flat Top Powder Brush and The RT Stipple Brush – I love that you can easily buff this blush in and it just melts right into your skin for a healthy glowy flushed look.
This also works great as a layering blush with a cream product underneath – I have tried this layered over Nars Penny Lane as well as Illamasqua Promise and love the effect.
At 12.76 grams I think it will last awhile, it doesn’t look like much product in the container but that is actually a fairly decent amount for a blush. I don’t see this being a replacement product due to the let-down of the flimsy cardboard packaging.
