Better late than never I suppose when it comes to trying new things! I was so hesitant to try anything MUG-related because I am just so leery of ordering things online sight unseen. Yes there is the possibility of returning if you do not like a product but to me, it is just a hassle. So I waited seemingly forever to try these out. I actually put them on the back burner for a long tome, over and over again. Then I noticed they re-designed the compact. It looked really pretty. What I especially like and appreciate about the compact is the magnetic opening. My bad wrists (and fingernails) appreciate that! I was even surprised that the compact has a little mirror (I don’t know if the previous compacts did, but just pointing this out), which is a nice touch.
Now, all that aside, what matters most (to me, most people?) is how well a blush performs. The first thing I noticed is this glides on like butter. Seriously, this slides right on and blends right into the skin so softly and velvety, better than even many high-end blushes I have tried, and definitely smoother than any mid-range blush I have tried. It literally feels like silk on my skin. This actually feels really so soft on the skin. I detect no scent (thankfully) and no irritation (first day wearing this, will update if needed, but sometimes you can just ‘tell’ when a product is not going to ‘bother’ your skin). Just a pleasure to apply. THIS is how blushes should apply!! 😉
Pigmentation..? Oh yes, definitely there..but definitely not ‘clown cheeks’ like some heavily pigmented blushes. This is very pigmented yet still incredibly natural, at least for me. YMMV.
I am wearing this today on a hot and humid summer day and 5.5 hours after being applied, still looks every bit as good as when first applied, not turning any weird shades and not ‘disappearing’ into my skin like some blushes do. This makes me look ‘alive’ and healthy and a natural ‘glow’..the kind of ‘blush’ you want!! Not a ‘made-up’ look at all..
For a hot summer day, I apply this as a wash of color on my cheeks, across my forehead, across the tops of my brows, and the tip of my nose today, being so hot and humid I like a ‘no makeup look’..and this has totally given me a nice ‘wash’ of ‘healthy’ looking color and ‘glow’. Very natural, very pleased. Will definitely repurchase. I also purchased Puppy Love and Spell Bound and they both look very natural and flattering.
I was a bit hesitant bc the price for one compact (I am not a Z-palette kind of girl) is $15.00 which to me is creeping up there with Mac and other similar brands, but honestly, “Infatuation” for me wears as well as one of my all-time holy grail blushes, Lancome Miel Glace, and it is less than half the price……I am not claiming these two to be ‘dupes,’ but honestly on my skin, they are so close, if I can’t tell the difference, then nobody else probably can, either. And in fact, I think I may even like “Infatuation” better than Miel Glace..Never did I think I would find a blush that duped it or I liked better, but here we are.. 🙂
Very pleased. Would I repurchase? Ohh yeah.. 🙂
