TOO PIGMENTED for fair skin. I wanted to love this blush, I really did. The color is beautiful, it’s a clear neutral, classic pink. In the pan it doesn’t look super bright, in fact it looks like it would be perfect for fair skin like mine. Don’t let that fool you.
I have had to work so, so hard to get it to blend out/ sheer out cuz it’s so dang pigmented! Though it is gorgeous, this is not a blush you can just casually and quickly apply as you get ready to race out the door. Not if you’re fair skinned and not unless you want to look like a clown. I had to work hard at it, so for me it’s just not worth it.
Yes I tried picking up less on my brush. One single light touch of a brush against the powder still picks up more than enough. I tried using different brushes, thinking that maybe a less dense brush would make this work. It didn’t matter whether I used Marc Jacobs or MAC or ELF brushes, pigmentation was challenging regardless.I still had to work, work work. When it comes to blush, I like easy. This ain’t easy. As beautiful as it is, it’s going back to Sephora.
I WOULD recommend this high quality blush to those blessed with medium to dark complexions.

This blush is so pretty! I was stuck between this and getting another Hourglass blush but I’m really glad I decided to try the Becca Luminous blush. It looks so beautiful on! I use it with their Pearl highlighter and my cheeks look so pretty. 🙂 The shade itself they say is a ballerina pink but it’s a very bright pink not light at all. But it is the lightest shade of the bunch. I’m about an NW20 or below, blonde hair, green eyes, cool undertones for reference. This blush applies and blends so easily. But it is very pigmented so I start light then build it up. I find my Yachiyo brush works great then I blend with a big soft fluffy brush. It really adds dimension to my cheeks.
I don’t know how to explain it but it just pulls together my look. It gives me the right amount of colour on my face. The colour itself is so pretty it’s like a dark pink with yellow undertones I think though it goes well with my cool complexion. It has shimmer but there is a glaze once that’s removed it’s not so super shimmery. The shade is so pigmented but they sheer out beautifully. The formula is quite lovely and it lasts for hours on me. I do use a setting spray though. Camellia is just such a pretty blush I’m looking forward to trying more I would like to get Foxglove next.
These are pricey but for the pigmentation and lasting time this blush will last me ages. I love the packaging it reminds me of a little ufo. 😉 It’s really nice and has a nice mirror included. I don’t know what they did but for me they did it right. It just makes anyone who wears it look so pretty! They say the blushes are universal and I’m not sure if they all are. I could see Camellia working for most skintones which is a plus. I really love this blush as I collect them and this shade with the Pearl h/l just looks so good together it’s something to try. If you are on the pale side this is a good shade to start with. I would definitely buy more of these even though the price is just ugh. But it is worth it imo as it truley makes the face look so pretty and the colours are just gorgeous. Recommended.
