This is by far and away my most unusual blush! I asked the Chanel.com telephone rep to pick me a blush & lipstick over the phone (& she picked this & coco shine Bonheur). They look so excellent together. It really picks out the grey in my eyes & I told her I was sick of baby pink & like NARS “O” types, had enuff of those. This is a red w a gold sheen (NARS Goule is more wine/more gold sheen but closest i have). I agree below it’s easy to go from hero to zero in 2 seconds so not concentrating the color in 1 spot is key. This is a what I look like when I’ve been flushed from admirers/exertion/cold weather/embarrassment so she did a good job picking it out. It is very pigmented but why ya wanna spent $45 on something barely visible?? It’s a “mature/matronly” color I can’t imagine this would appeal to many “‘very’ young” ladies. Red I didn’t think I could wear it but I am managing to pull it off I’m 39 sooooo…xmas gift I bought myself I waited to wear it til xmas day! It’s so festive but it’s gonna be good for ev day I think this is a true old fashioned “rouge” as a kid I had a rather matronly piano instructor I fondly remember who wore a similar shade & she was a pastor’s wife so it’s not too risqué or scandalous. A little goes a long way. I won’t rebuy becoz i wanna try somem diff! Too many products calling my name I want 1 of each HAHA LOL

You literally need just a dot of this on each cheek. It’s very easy to overdo and end up looking clownish, but if you get it right, it’s absolutely beautiful! It’s a rich red with fine shimmer particles. It makes me think of Rudolph’s nose, all red and glowy in the pan, but the shimmer is not too obvious once on your cheeks, it just gives you the most sensuous, glowy, flushed cheeks ever…think Victoria Secret model cheeks.
For reference, my skintone is NC20/NW20, neutral undertones, it matches me perfectly and can even look totally natural (just as long as I use a teeny tiny dot and blend it out well). This blush could last me a decade, so it’s worth every dime I paid for it. This is actually my first high-end blush…for the regular pinks and corals, I’m happy enough with drugstore or high-street offerings. It’s very longwearing too! The flush was still very present on my cheeks 7 hours later, even with no primers or setting powders used.
Update: I found out that this blush is LE and is now unavailable in most stores (I was just lucky), but I did find a very close match…’Frankly Scarlett’ by MAC, is a very similar rich red, but matte…just lightly dust your favorite shimmer/highlight over it (a subtle gold or pale gold if possible), and voila, a Rouge dupe! I ended up also purchasing Frankly Scarlett, must say I love them both equally though you definitely do not need to own both. I just love these red blushes…where have they been all my life.

I wanted a new blush, I was browsing the counters, I was considering Rose Initiale and then I saw this bold, shimmering no excuses red and recalled the “Gone With the Wind” scene in which Rhett tells Scarlett to put on a lot of rouge so she could look the part.
This is probably one of the most pigmented Chanel powder blushes and well it should be because they’re ridiculously expensive, I would prefer that they got rid of that ridiculous excuse for a brush and lower the price and size of the packaging.
The shade is red and should be applied with care, after experimenting with several brushes, I think that a duo fiber like the 187 so you don’t go from zero to clown in 2 seconds. Every single time I wear this blush I get compliments that I look very nice and glowy. I have to disagree on the gold shimmer, there is a shimmer but I just don’t see the gold tone, it’s not glittery or sparkly just a very natural sheen.
I also am very surprised that being rather pale (Siberia in NARS) this is the shade of blush that looks the most natural, like I’ve just came in from the cold.

I love this blush. Great for WOC. Fair skinned women seem to find this “too” pigmented. I think for the price I’m paying it better be very pigmented. Why pay for something that barely shows up on my skin. This does and it wonderful to blend. It give a natural blush with gold and red micro-sheen. I bought a back up because it’s limited edition. It’s still in stock on the site, so get one while you can.

Gorgeous warm red with a tiny hint of gold. Comes off beautifully on my golden tan skin, like I just came in from the cold, but I imagine paler ladies might want to use a VERY light hand with this. I like dusting a little bit of JC Or on top of this to give it a bit more gold, which is enhanced by the gold tones in my skin. LE, and though I doubt I’d ever run out before Chanel puts out something similar again I’d definitely repurchase. Deducted a lippy only because the color’s so saturated it’s quite easy to go overboard if you’re not careful.

When I first saw this blush from the Byzantine Collection I thought “no way”! But after reading reviews by bloggers I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did as this is the most natural looking blush I own. And, as mentioned before, a light hand is a must. (a fan brush is also recommended). And yes I would buy it again, but it will probably last me forever!

NW10, dark brown hair, golden brown eyes.
Very intense reddened-pink colour.
Matches my blood undertone perfectly, so with a light hand and large, fan-type brush (or similar… nothing dense!) I get the only natural flush I’ve ever seen.
I enjoy plums and hot pinks, but this red is natural in a way those can never be.
Make sure to dust off the top first or else your first swipe on your cheek will have collected far too much product. You can use powder to sheer it out, but prevention’s always a better approach.
Highly recommended, LE of course. frown.
