I love this blush, received it quite a while ago as a birthday gift from Sephora I think. It looks very natural and even though I have light skin it matches beautifully. It’s true you have to apply it carefully as you can easily overdo it but if applied lightly it has a minor shimmer and a fresh look! UNFORTUNATLY as so often this shade was not available to buy in the store or I missed it and it was already discontinued when I wanted to buy it, it’s quite annoying as a good matching blush is hard to find ????

I received a mini of this blush. I normally go in for warm, peachy blushes. But it is nice to have this this pretty berry, rosy blush. It is very well-pigmented so i find i have to go easy with this. I think this shade would work for different skintones, fairer skintones use less color, deeper skintones more color. This gives me a pretty, rosy glow like i came in from the cold. I would like to see more minis of NARS blushes…..as part of the regular lineup. Or do that as a special LE for the holiday…….please!

This is not a blush for beginners. This is a cool toned deep berry that can get out of hand real quick but if you get it right it’s very pretty. Most berries come out red/brown on me so I like that this one stays berry but cool. If I use a fluffy brush (Bobbi Brown blush brush) and one dab in the pan is perfect. I don’t find it too difficult to get right. It’s smooth, blends well. There is shimmer in the pan but I don’t see any on my face. I hate NARS packaging. I just got MAC Fever as a dupe. In the pan, Goulue is lighter and more shimmery and more red. On the skin they are nearly indistinguishable. Fever is slightly cooler. I prefer Goulue as it’s more user friendly and blendable. I think the shimmer makes it apply more evenly. If you try Fever, be even more careful! It’s bright!

I find this blush color just too much for my fair skin. I can only apply with a fan brush, otherwise it’s just too dark and pigmented. Blends easily. I have this blush in an older issue NARS blusher pallette as well as a new mini as Sephora VIB rouge member. Otherwise it performs very well: super pigmented, last all day. Just apply with a light hand.
UPDATE, I found a great way in order to apply this blusher without being too heavy handed. I swipe my blush brush once against the pan. Swipe onto my apples and cheeks. Then I use a sponge (the ones in a tin meant to clean up eyeshadow brushes in between applications) to clean the excess off the brush. Then use that same brush to blend. Perfect. So I changed it to a YES for repurchase.

Temptalia has this described as ” a medium-dark, berry rose with subtle, cooler undertones and warmer gold shimmer,” and I would agree with that. This is currently available to Sephora’s VIB members, which I feel this is not a shade that many women can pull off; I wish they picked a more universally flattering shade, but that is neither here nor there in my rating. This is very pigmented. One light sweep of a brush is plenty. I recommend using a stipple brush or a duo fiber type of a brush to apply this, especially if you are one that tends to be a little heavy handed. This can give you strong blush application, as in ‘clown’ looking, BUT…it blends into the skin fairly easily. Once applied, I do not see any sparkle or shimmer that appears in the pan. Temptalia has several dupes listed, and of all the dupes listed, the one I agree with and one I thought of immediately was The Balm Pinstripe, but this also reminds me of Lorac Velvet Rope (which apparently is discontinued), and I also agree that it is similar to Nars Dolce Vite blush, and also Nars Outlaw blush. But it is obvious to me that this is not a unique shade. It wears on me a good 8 hours minimum before fading, so it does last a long time during the day. But it is not a unique shade, and it is one that is imo kind of hard to pull off for many women, which again, I wish Sephora offered a more universal shade (but again, that did not factor into my rating, just wanted to mention it). A very strongly pigmented blush that lasts pretty much all day and blends in easily enough if you get too heavy-handed, but imho, is not a ‘unique’ or different nor special shade. Many similar shades out there at more inexpensive price points.

Absolutely gorgeous berry blush. I’m very fair, so I need to apply this blush with a light hand. Blended out, it gives a nice flush, and looks absolutely perfect for the fall.
Edit: After having been around for a while now, I’m no longer impressed by the NARS blush formula, and I don’t think I’d repurchase. Still a nice blush if you like the formula, but I won’t.

This blush is beautiful and honestly I do not have a colour similar to this. Except maybe it’s kind of in the realm of Tartes Blushing Bride except I think this is way prettier and it is just such a pretty shade of blusher. It’s like a healthy berry with tiny tiny gold shimmer except it does not transfer as shimmery on my face at all. It looks natural and I’m very fair skinned NW20, Nars Monte Blanc, blonde hair, and green eyes. This shade I was reading people saying fair girls couldn’t use this. So not so just use a brush that does not pick up a lot of product. Because this blush is so pigmented I could of easily over done it.
So for me I use the Yachiyo with this blush. I have no issue with over applying and it looks so natural and fresh. When I received this it looks so much prettier than what you see on Sephora. This is my go to blush because for summer it looks so natural sheared out. Yet, I could get away easily with using this in the colder months as well. It is a blush that to me I feel brings out the best in any skin tone. It’s said to be universal I am thinking for most it is. I really am happy with this. I purchased the full size it’s Rouge only right now, but that never lasts and anyone should be able to get it because it’s a great one if you like me love to collect blushes. Very happy! Recommended.

Pretty expensive blush, I had to spend $1,000 to get to it hah! Goulue is so pretty! I got this in my VIB-Rouge welcome kit as a mini & I used it a cpl days which was enuff to convince me I needed to buy its full sized (USD$30) version (lol!). I was really into “O” blush but I had set it aside which caused me to reevaluate my needs in a blush. I love Nars blush–I have “O” &”Super O” (as well as Albatross but technically a blush), but as “O/Super O” have a lot of purported “dupes” (ime they never get it quite right!), Goulue has no real dupes I’ve seen becoz of its golden sheen & grape plummy color combo make it quite unique. I have a bunch of blushes but nothing like this at all. It’s so so SO beautiful! The mini will whet your appetite 😉 Nars does blush best!! This is is available to Rouge members only but it was in the Narsicisst palette I think (?) I know it’s been out b4 in 1 or another palette for non VIB-R’s but I would rebuy “yes” but maybe another color. I don’t know if I’ve ever used up and HE blushes lol it’s also pretty $$$ so I won’t be getting a backup.

I do own a lot of blush although it’s not a daily wear for me. Since I only use it maybe 1-2X per wk (if that), it really takes a lot for me to step into the high-end zone for blush when there are so many nice one’s out there in drugstore land (such as Milani and NYX). But this color is so pretty, smooth, and well pigmented I felt it was worth the splurge. Not to mention I am a sucker for limited editions and being that this is a VIB Rouge exclusive… well yeah… I needed it.
This is a beautiful and unique shade – it’s sort of a deep rose with a hint of berry that really does seem to be a universally flattering shade of pink. This can look different depending on skintone and how much or little one builds it up. I apply it with a lighter hand and I get a lovely flushed type glow. This is very easy to blend (It is highly pigmented so be careful fair folks!) and has no glitter (can I get an Amen?!). There is also something unique about this color that I can’t put my finger on – while there are many similar one’s out there, I see no true dupes and nothing else appears to payoff in the same way, the same shade. If you like muted deep pinks which lean berry and warm, this shade is for you!

Goulue is now an exclusive shade for Sephora VIB Rouge members. The full size is $38 CDN and is only available to VIB Rouge suckers…er…members. I got a mini size (about the size of a single Nars eyeshadow – cute, tiny compact!) as my VIB Rouge gift. I’ve had it for 3 or 4 days and I’ve used it every day since receiving it. I love the shade – a deep and somewhat warm berry-red shade. I think it’s the sort of colour that would be flattering on just about any skin tone, whether cool or warm toned, fair or darker skin. Years ago, MAC released a LE blush called Bite of an Apple which I was never able to get (it sold out too fast) but I have the feeling this shade might be similar to that. It is also very similar to Clinique’s Cola Cheek Pop, which I’d been thinking of purchasing, but now don’t have to.
Goulue IS very pigmented so I’d advise using a light hand…you can always add more but it is easy to end up looking like you’re running a fever if you aren’t careful and use too much. I’ve done this twice, even though I should already know better! I end up buffing away the “overkill” with a skin toned powder and a dense buffing brush.
