This has become my go-to blush for everyday — it’s cool enough to work with my very fair skin, but has enough gold in it to warm up my skin a little. You just need a TINY bit of it, because it’s highly pigmented, and you could end up looking like a sad clown hooker. I bought a back-up of this for when I run out, but honestly, I’ve been using it almost daily for a year, and I have barely dented it, so it will be a while before I break out the other one! I’ve found that the Laura Geller baked products can vary dramatically from item to item, because of the nature of the manufacturing process: some of them will have an uneven balance of colors, so will look like an entirely different shade than another of the very same product. I bought mine online, and was lucky to get one that was more “berry” than “apricot.” So, if you really want to be sure that you get one with the right mix of swirled colors for your particular skin and tastes, it’s probably best to buy this in-person, so you can see the actual item that you’re getting. Still, I don’t even bother looking at blushes anymore, because I’m so happy with this one!

I had just about given up trying to find a blush that’s “just right”. Most of the time, I’d settle for bronzers, because, with all the millions of blushes in the world, nothing seemed to work. I might find a good color that disappeared or made me look greasy, or a good formula that had a color that made me look like my liver failed. Probably my worst pet-peeve is the hidden silver tin-man shimmer that emerges from my skin after a couple of hours of wearing certain blushes, (Coralista, you broke my heart). Nothing against this shimmer, except it makes me look like I forgot to wash my face this month. In addition to my blush issues, I’ve gotten to a point where mineral foundations aren’t looking so lovely anymore. While searching for new things to try, I purchased a Laura Geller kit that had Balance N Brighten (Wow!) and this glorious, fabulous Apricot Berry blush. This blush inspired me to actually watch Laura Geller on QVC, (I’d never seen QVC in my life), and, for me, her exuberant product descriptions don’t seem embellished in the least! 🙂 Apricot Berry brings out my green eyes, yet looks warm and smooth on my skin. It brings out a “tan” look in my olive (NC 35ish) skin, even when I’m lacking sunlight and my skin is sallow. It doesn’t stand out like, “Oooo, she’s wearing BLUSH…” Instead, it brings out all the warm-gold-bronze-apricot-coral tones that cosmetically fool observers into thinking I radiate glow and flush from a recent tropical spa retreat. And this is while I’m dumping the diaper pail into the trash bin, or scraping raisins off my headboard. I’m telling you – this is beautiful blush!

I wanted to like this, but on my fair complexion, it is way too orangy. It is beautiful in the pan though. I also do not like that it is so shimmery. The only time I can pull this off is in the summer when I get a little more color to my skin.
