Black Radiance is quickly becoming a household name among w.o.c(women of color) and for good reason. It’s often hard to find cosmetics that work for different skintones and complexions. This shade in particular is amazing!! It’s the perfect compliment of red and would flatter any skintones. The application is smooth as silk. Because it is a baked blush it is highly pigmented a little goes a long way. I have purchased three other bakes from Black Radiance( rich peach, toasted almond and flawless) and love them. The price is unbelievable ($5). Plus,the packaging is neat and clean so it won’t take up a lot of space.

This is blush is very pigmented so a little goes a long way and this is not a color I would wear everyday. I wish Black Radiance would bring back their discontinued blushes especially soft honey because that was a very natural everyday color.

I guess I’m one of the few people who dislike this blush. Let me start by saying I agree with the reviewer below me—Black Radiance Artisan Color Baked Blush is “super-duper pigmented.” Wearing this is really daring. I have medium-dark skin & while I do appreciate any blush that even shows up, this shade is flirting with “obnoxious.” The first two or three times I wore it, I found it extremely hard to work with. It’s not easy & that’s why I only wear it when I’m not in a rush & have the patience to figure out what to do with it. “It may take a bit of practice to get the look you desire” is exactly right.
Another reviewer wrote: “application is a little tricky sometimes… this is definitely not a product to use when you’re in a rush, as you risk looking like a clown if you don’t take the time to blend carefully and apply in sheer layers.” This isn’t a blush I’d even consider wearing on a daily basis. It’s way too easy to over-apply. The pigmentation is so overpowering. The blush ITSELF is good quality & worth the $5, but Warm Berry isn’t a SHADE I’d pick up again. I’m no fan of this deep red colour, but I’d buy another Artisan Color in a shade that’s more natural & wearable. Until I find that, this is two lipsticks to me.

The cover broke to mine. But this blush is super duper pigmented! I’ve had it for years and barley made a dent in it. I have sort of dark skin so it’s very hard to find blushes for women of color, so this blush is perfect. I just used one tap and I’m good for both of my cheeks. I really like it 🙂

As much as I love the idea of a deep wintry flush, brightly colored blushes, especially reds, aren’t always optimally flattering on me. I don’t blush naturally. Perhaps that is why finding the ‘right’ red for my skintone is a little tricky.
Not so with Warm Berry, a muted cranberry red with a satin-like sheen. Though dark and well pigmented, I find it remarkably easy to wear. It hits the right balance of conditions for my skintone: the red leans cool, not so blue it veers into plumminess, its intensity subdued by grey. The effect is high contrast—a look I adore—but looking neither artificial from a disconnect between pigment and skintone nor picking up the sunburnt quality of warmer reds, which is perhaps a little too natural. From what I’ve been able to determine, any blush that has good feedback with all the tones in your face, so that it brightens overall, is a good one. However, this ‘balance’ depends on context, so I cannot claim that Warm Berry would flatter others the way it does my own mix of pink and warm yellow (and very minimal olive, just around the eyes) undertones.
The texture could use improvement. Like many baked formulas, it is a bit dry, and with fingers it swatches somewhat patchy, but this is not ultimately a dealbreaker as it does blend out smoothly with a brush.

Very red. A little, as in dust it of well before applying to face type of little, GOES A LONG WAY. Nice red. Haven’t worn it out much because I’ve never worn a red blush. I’ve tried looking for affordable ones, and this is the best I’ve found. In my opinion, this is an occasion blush – not for daily wear; however, I will try out looks to wear it more often.

Love this blush! I have a deep brown complexion and absolutely love the way this blush shows up on my skin. Very pigmented, yet not overpowering…unless you apply it with a heavy hand. I like this packaging much better than the way Black Radiance blushes were once packaged. It is sleeker and doesn’t break easily (i’ve dropped mine at least half a dozen times). For the price $4.99 at duane reade it is definitely worth trying out!

Several months ago I got on a bit of a red blush kick & picked up EVERY red blush in my path! Lol 😉 -I have 3 RiteAid stores in my area but only one of them carries Black Radiance (& Black Opal) products. I never really gave either of these brands a 2nd look in the past, having very pale skin I just assumed these products wouldn’t suit my skin tone (which is N/NC13ish in MAC – quite fair & mostly neutral leaning warm. My “season” is considered a Clear Winter. I also have dark hair & eyes)
Recently I found a great mattifier & translucent mattifying powder from Black Opal at the beginning of this summer(2012) so began checking out these brands a little more every trip to that RiteAid. I glanced at the blushes & immediately was drawn to this one. It *kinda* reminds me of a mix of NYX Red and Milani Red Vino (MINUS the glitter in Red Vino – if that makes sense? :D)
The price was just under $8, plus my RiteAid had some $1 OFF stickers placed on the blushes so I paid around $7 for this which is a great buy for a blush of this quality.
This blush is EXTREMELY pigmented, and I mean *extremely*. More pigmented than any other blush I own (think NARS blush quality) -So it is very easy to go overboard with this, especially if you’re fair skinned like myself. For example I can not just swirl my brush around in the pan then apply it straight onto my cheeks. Oh no no no.. It’ll give me the dreaded “clown cheek” look lol
So what I’ve been doing with this (as well as the other blush from this line that I own, named “Raspberry”) -is take my fluffiest blush brush, lightly dab it on the product, dab the brush onto the apples of my cheeks, then quickly take a jumbo cotton ball & blend blend blend it back. I say “quickly” in reference to the cotton ball part because this blush also has great staying power. It’s like a blush stain in powder form (quite impressive tbh) I fell asleep in this blush & woke up with it looking like it was *just* applied, no lie(which is quite rare for me having very oily skin). So once you apply it is THERE, and not going anywhere therefore making the blending quickly part key 🙂
If I apply lightly and blend well, it’s one of the most flattering blushes I’ve ever owned, the color is an amazing deep berry red that I think would look great on literally any skin tone.
This blush has no hint of shimmer or glitter, it’s matte but if over-applied I do notice a slight sheen, but it’s by no means overbearing. I also like the fact that it’s mostly matte because I feel like I have enough shimmery blushes and having oily skin & large/visible pores, I find matte blushes to be more flattering.
Overall, I think this is just a steal for $8 USD. The pigmentation and staying power make it good enough to pay $20 for, then if you add in the beautiful & universal shade that Warm Berry is, it makes this blush priceless to me! It’s one of my most reached for blushes. I would definitely repurchase.

Super pigmented! One tap of your brush and you’ll have a lovely reddish flush on your cheeks. It may take a bit of practice to get the look you desire, but for ~$5 I think it’s worth a try. This could look good on a variety of skintones.

love it however VERY pigmented. i actually barely dab my brush on it and then swipe it on a tissue a few times b4 appying. but beautiful flush on my light\med asian skin!
