I have yet to find a dupe to this color by a brand I would prefer like Nars or Bobbi Brown. There is nothing wrong with UD Blushes just prefer the texture, and casing of the other two brands. This blush did not last most of the day, virtually melted into my skin, and the color did not apply as opaque as it looks in the case.If not careful when 1st applying this color can look like a bruise.

I was looking for a violet toned blush but I was hesitant when I swatched this color on my arm, but I’m soooo happy I bought it any way. This really is magic blush. On my pale skin, it warms up my cheeks with violet but also makes them pop with a natural pink tone. It’s absolutely gorgeous. I can also use it as a very pigmented eye shadow. Don’t be scared of this color! You won’t regret it!

Bittersweet in the pan is a bright purple, but on my nw20, deep soft winter cheeks it comes off as a soft orchid type of shade…a softened purple with a pink undertone. When I swatched it on my arm, it came off really purple still & if you put it on heavy handed…it will be purple. Applied to my cheeks with a light fluffy brush, it comes off as a soft cool pinkish orchid glow. At first it may even feel a bit “purple” but once it settles, it softens on me. You can easily build this up to be a more prominent purple too. I have a tendency to turn a good color orange/brown. I have even surprised MAC MUA’s with how much Well Dressed warms up on me. So if you are darker or more of a clear pale than me, this may still come off purple and should always be applied with a light hand (and brush) until you get a feel for it. If you have a problem with shades turning orange on you…try this blush! Bittersweet has brought new life to pink lipsticks that weren’t jiving with my other blushes well. It looks amazing with straight up purple shades.
The packaging is like the lipstick packaging, metallic. The compact has no mirror, but a grate where a mirror would be. The lady at Ulta showed me how she used this to scrape the extra product off the brush. The blush seems to wear very well on me and stay present most of the day.
