I can understand this product being too dark for some really fair people but if you are light to medium or darker it is a fabulous product. I recently went on Vacation and noticed that my face was much lighter than my body….yuck! I tried going a bit heavier with my Guerlain powder bronzer but still felt it looked lighter. Enter Stila HD Bronzing Balm….while at Shoppers Drug Mart I noticed one left on the shelf and although it’s a little pricey I though I’d give it a try. I chose to mix it with my Double Wear foundation and loved the effect it gave. It looked warmer and deeper but not orangey or unnatural. No mask like effect either. It was perfect for what I needed. I also love the way it feels and even thought my skin looked smoother. I have yet to try it alone which is probably where most people ran into issues with this product. Just for reference my skin tone is probably more light than medium but I do tan easily. I wear Double Wear foundation in 2W1 Dawn.

I LOVE THIS STUFF!
I’m about NC30-35 in MAC, 127 in MUFE HD and this bronzing bb is not too dark for me.
I use this as a primer before my foundation, it’s got a little bit of a coverage but not enough to cover acne scars or anything major, so I still use foundation on certain areas ( sometimes the whole face, I like me a full coverage!) and doing this has given some bronzy glow and some color to my face! And it can be used mixed with your fave foundation too to darken it a shade.
I still use bronzers to further warm up my complexion and to contour but this has helped me achieve that bronzy ‘glow’ so effortlessly!
Staying power is good too. At first the color can seem scary but once blended properly it looks great, if it’s still too dark put foundation over it to tone it down a notch.
Overall, it has become a staple in my kit and I use it every. Single. Day!

Stila bronzing BB, MUFE HD or Laura Mercier Silk Creme or Stila foundation, Too faced chocolate foundation powder (extra coverage!), guerlain terracota bronzer no.3, the balm bahama mama to contour and the balm hot mama blush : glowy skin that stays put!

I could not get past the color of this bronzing balm. It is dark orange. Oompa loompa orange. Who can wear this? I looked ridiculous and removed it immediately.

I suppose I am going to be the 1st to give this product 5 *’s. Let me begin by saying I am an NW30/ NC35 in Mac foundations ( yes, I am neutral), and have normal/ dry skin. I received this bronze BB as a sample size in Sephora’s Sun Kit, and am glad I did!
I apply this BB cream after I prep my skin with my AM skin products. I squeeze a little bigger than a pea size onto my fingers, rub them together to warm up the product, then apply all over my face. Let me tell you,as soon as I rub it on, I can see my skin just begin to warm up and achieve a “sun kissed” glow all over. It’s like this BB cream was meant for my skin tone.
It feels a little dry upon application, like it isn’t slippery where it just glides on, but you have to work it into the skin. It evens out my skin tone beautifully, no patchy-ness, no streaks. I have pretty clear skin with the typical redness around the nose/ cheek area. This covered it lightly. It also seemed to “soften” the texture of my skin, almost has a blurring effect. I love the way my skin looks as far as adding some warmth and just making it even toned.
On days that I don’t want a full face of foundation, I will use this along with some concealer ( MAC prolong wear), and I’m good to go. On days that I’m wanting more coverage, I use this as my primer. Pretty much, I use this daily. I love that it is long wearing ( water resistant), feels light especially in this summer heat ( live in hell…AZ that is). It doesn’t melt, slide, slip, rub off.
The packaging is hygienic being it’s in a squeeze tube, great for traveling too. Has a broad spectrum SPF 30…love. Water resistant as mentioned before. Hasn’t broken me out, hasn’t dried me out. The price is a bit high for not being a full on foundation, but that hasn’t stopped me from purchasing it. I used my sample up, and fortunately Stila was having 25% off, so I bought a full sized tube ( this was a month or so ago). Just yesterday I purchased another tube on Stila website as all their BB/CC creams were 50% off. I even ordered the Illuminating BB cream. Can’t wait to try that!
Overall, I love this product, can call it HG. If you are my skin tone or deeper, give this a try. You just may love it as much as I do 🙂

I got a deluxe sample size in my Sephora Sun Safety kit. Blah. It’s quite dark and orange for my fair skin. I found that I can mix just a tad into my MAC BB cream in fairly light and it give it a tan glow. I can get the same effect with a powder bronzer up top of my BB cream. But to use it by itself…not for the fair skin gals.
Will not be buying this bronzing bb cream.

Received this in my Sephora Sun Safety Kit. It’s a dark brown cream? That is the only way to describe it. Unless you’re dark skinned I don’t understand how you could possibly use this??

As a someone who has light skin, I am trying to find a bronzer I can use, especially in the winter when I can look awful with pale skin and dark hair. Unforunately this wasn’t it. I was excited since it was both a BB cream and a bronzer. This was too dark for my light skin so it did not work out on skin. It was easy to put on but there was no way to blend it on lightly. It was way too orange and obvious on my skin. I didn’t keep it on (easy to wash off) so I cannot say anything about how long lasting it is or whether it is good for the skin. I think it would
